It was supposed to be a routine hop on behalf of the FDS, conveying a Tellarite team to meet a Vulcan one in Vulcan orbit. And somehow it ended up feeling rather like a pre-Federation battle. I am at wits end attempting to discern what is so all-consuming important about nomenclature between the dairy production of certain traditional staple livestock on these planets, but someone pulled a phaser before I had everyone beamed to the brig.

To the surprise of many delegates, I was quite entitled to do so. After letting them sober out a little, I let them resume their negotiations.

From the brig.

Very late, but this is a thing of beauty.

It would be useful to know if there's any point to trying to get the Yrillians to 500, and hopefully a diplomatic posture report will help with that. On a narrative level, knowing that we've gotten our hooks into enough portions of the Yrillian people that many of them will sit out a Cardassian-Federation war, or join us, is equally helpful.

They're only about a push and an annual roll or two, +/-, away from 500. If it turns out that them hitting 500 will actually do something, or that hitting >300 has done something, it will guide our decision making for the next snakepit.

It's a nitpick, but Yrillians don't get annual rolls since they are not affiliates. Which is kind of interesting, as they are by far the highest Relationship level we've ever had with a non-affiliate.

Hmm, I could have sworn that they had gotten an annual roll at some point... maybe an oversight on Oneiros' part or my own. Nonetheless, the point stands. A push will generate anywhere from 100-120 points on them. It's not unreasonable that an event or good rolls would push them to 500 with that.

I'm surprised so few people are paying attention to the Sydraxians. We've been told that at some point in the very near future we're going to have to poop or get off the hypertech Tkon toilet that Abigail Taggert got for us way back when. I would like to be well-informed when we do so.

I'm interested, but the only report I'd be willing to drop for it is the GBZ report, which has a commanding lead at this point. Losing any of the other reports would be a net negative. In addition, we haven't seen external signs that things have changed in the last year and the premise that we could break a deadlock relies on fragile stability. Again, interested, but consider four of my five votes more important.

I hope we can somehow get the Sydraxians out of the Ashalla pact due to that faction approaching us to talk.

Except for the part where we were directly approached by one of the factions using a Sydraxi warship rather than covertly approached by a group of several factions via intermediaries because they had no government pull.

That's a pretty big change.
It showed to me that the blue-green alliance was still in charge, which was a big indication of little change to me.

e: In fact, I counted it as a sign they had stabilized a bit that they were able to afford to send a ship and that they were able to worry about foreign diplomacy.

I actually read it as a sign of instability. The ship represented the Greens but not the Blues which indicates that the minor partner in the coalition is trying to get out from under the Blues or chart an independant foriegn policy from their supposed partners.

Except: the ship was sent by the Greens, alone. It did not claim to represent the Blues.

Except: previous groups did not represent either the Blues or the Greens, but a coalition of minor groups loosely aligned in that direction but not actually a part of it, so this is the first time the Greens or the Blue-Greens have reached out to us directly.

Even if we take some of your conceits as true, you're still giving me 2+2=Gumdrop Glockenspiel.

sounds like a plan

Hopefully we'll see the Cardassian Tactics Report climb back up the ranks; I assume we'll be crossing swords with them in the GBZ either this year or next.

That's how I feel about what you're saying tbh. Nevertheless, that kind of discussion isn't really going anywhere, and I've said under what circumstances I'd extend a vote for the Sydraxian report.

@AlphaDelta
Please move your [REPORT] Cardassian shipyard vote to [CARD]

Dropped shipbuilding for shipyards.

I'd rather not. It's a short term aid that we will not need; they're in a massive build wave right now, and won't do much until they finish.

Well, if we commission a new Miracht, it won't have a suffix. Suffices are reserved for Enterprise.

But the second Miracht was named Miracht-B iirc?

And Lion. Since it saved the Federation/all of time and space. And is an honorary Enterprise anyways.
We can't admit that.

Remember that Starfleet classifies and buries temporal antics so deeply that the President of the Federation and Commander, Starfleet aren't cleared to know about a lot of it.
