Yes, because how does one conveniently carry an 11-foot pole? Starfleet uniforms don't even get pockets.Literally, 11 foot long sticks to poke thing with. Is that too much to ask?

Star Trek: Lower Decks confirms that they do actually have pocketsYes, because how does one conveniently carry an 11-foot pole? Starfleet uniforms don't even get pockets.
You can't do that anyway, Klingon ships are shielded. But please; do not commit biological/psychological/sociological terrorism against Klingons
And at the same time confirming that at least some[1] of them don't have knowledge of those pockets existing.Star Trek: Lower Decks confirms that they do actually have pockets
Quantum pockets, you can use them or observe them, but not both. And at the same time confirming that at least some[1] of them don't have knowledge of those pockets existing.
[1]Presumably many if not nearly all, because that is funnier.
I'm not totally sure we're at the tech level to build what looks like a single-nacelle starship? So anyway
Let's start brainstorming ideas for the Utility cruser
I'm thinking...
Beeger Kelvin type.
(That design is COOL okay?)

I've been pitching my Manta Ray concept. Half Saucer with secondary hull.So anyway

We're going to have to disagree on that, the top hull does a lot to visually balance the design. I'd be even better if said hull was about a third again as long, so it's closer to the length of the Nacelle. I mean, just look at it, it looks fast even if it probably isn't (because, y'know, one nacelle.) and it's just a slick design. Why would you take the Saladin and make it worse with that derpy looking top-mounted secondary hull?!
The fact that it doesn't connect to the nacelle raises the question of why the secondary hull even exists to begin with when they could just making the saucer bigger instead. We're going to have to disagree on that, the top hull does a lot to visually balance the design. I believe Sayle said we're not getting any single-nacelle designs. So anyway

Edit: to clarify, the Kelvin's saucer is pretty obviously only like two decks tall. And not especially large in radius. I'm thinking significantly larger saucer (4+ decks, or even 5, given how chonky our fancy tech is getting) plus a larger engineering hull (that is, closer in volume to the underslung single Nacelle, though a Miranda style skids arrangement might also work; I mainly want a single Nacelle for cost reasons. Warp Coils are expensive!)
It is goofy, why is the secondary hull twice the size of the nacelle? Why does the secondary hull even exist since it does not connect to anything? If you have the ability to make stable warp fields using one nacelle, why not build a second as redundancy on what is supposed to be a workhorse? And many other questions that need to be answered. Also, I think it looks dumb. Sorry, not sorry.I mean really, the Kelvin type is a great ship; really shows off how a single Nacelle design can work (unlike the poor Saladin, which I absolutely agree is a goof of a design)
How can you call this slick thing "goofy"?
(Incidentally I am really happy to have found that last pic because brace for Mockup lads)
