I do like the matchup with the max cruise of our other ships.

Going to approval vote sprint too, b/c I think we really dont want Cruise Config on this one.

I'm fine with linier, but I think sprint is best in this case.

Max cruise being locked for them all gives the strongest case for sprint yet. But outside of the thin band where we can sustain max warp, higher normal cruise gives more range, generally faster redeployment, and likely better responsiveness when we're more than a week from where Starfleet needs us to be.

Linear because it's a decent compromise and we could learn something.

I want this ship to go fast. I want it to leave Klingons in the dust or run them down. I want it to hit Warp 9 after a refit for Type-4 nacelles and a new deflector.

This federation is huge , but the fighting is probably going to be focused to an area near the Klingon side of the border , at least for the first part of the war.
I'm guessing sprint would help it keep the warp 7 fleet from getting totally overwhelmed and run down?

we have the logistics starbases for a reason. efficient cruise speed only matters if this thing is exploring off on its own and needing to go the maximum distance between refueling. when we are in the federation, we can run at maximum cruise speed the whole time and refuel as needed.

the extra sprint speed is much better for us.
