You can always not send eggman or Metal sonic to try and make sure to hide Eggman's involment.
Sure you can try to go with a disguise, either for bidding or for smashing the party, but there's always the chance there's someone there that recognizes you.
For Belle, her stay at the base wasn't bad....so far. She was given her own room, which was a lot larger than her old and all her belongings were also brought back so she was able to redecorate. She managed to recreate it to be almost like her old room but in the end it just wasn't nearly as homely.
As she tried to redorated for the several time, she stopped to pick up something that had fallen from boxes. She stared a moment at the small picture frame showing her and her father. Tears begin to pool before she shaked them away and gently set it down at her desk. She decided to leave her room and clear her head.
Walking through the base, she noticed she hadn't the chance to really talk to anyone yet, most of them kept their distance as if they don't quite know how to introduce themselves. She did have a small chat with Cubot and Orbot, they were nice even if the smarter brother was awkward about it.
She paused as she heard the whirring of machines coming from nearby, it took a moment to realize she wandered near her fa- Eggman's workshop. She still didn't know what to make of him, he was not Mister Tinker and had plans that look evil. She knew the world was a mess with the "shattering" but was world conquest the answer? She doesn't know but she also doesn't really know him. They both have stayed away from eachother since the move, it might not change until someone goes first.
Staring at the ominous doors leading to him, she took a breathe and decided it might as well be her. He might not be him but he still family sort of. Step by step she entered the room, moving past computers and vast machinery toward a large raised circular platform where she found him hunched over a unknown device while a massive digital screen is on the wall before him.
Although he doesn't look like he had noticed her, she had a strong feeling that he has watching her somehow. She tried to shake off her nerves and took one step towards him.
"Aa-ah hello Mr.Eggman or do you prefer Dr.Eggman?" she stammered.
He still made no move so she kept pressing on.
"We ah never really got the chance to really talk about anything so I thought that now would be a really good time?"

"Okay...Oh maybe I should start first! I like woodworking and fixing things"
"I don't really like fire since I'm made of wood and also I'm scared of flying because-"
On and on she went talking about her self, then about things that went on in the village and her own little adventures with Eggman being her silent listener. In a way it reminded her a bit of talking to her father when he hads his hands busy with tinkering. When she exhausted everything she could think off, their was just really one thing she wanted him to answer.
"Um what should I call you, you're not him but you are family right?"
As she wringed her hands, she heard no answer from the Doctor as if he was made from stone. Feeling a dark pit in her stomach, she turned to move.
"Uncle"
She stopped and turned her head toward him, having barely heard the sound.
"Wha-What?"
"I said you may call me Uncle for now" The man in question only slightly turned his head to repeat it gruffly before focusing back on his work as if thats all that needed to be said.
Though as she stepped outside his room, her footsteps feeling just a bit lighter perhaps it really was.
Whether Eggman is really acknowledging her as family or dissociationing himself with Mister Tinker I'll leave up to speculation. Still this was fun to make, makes me wish we get Mech Robotnik soon to soon how they interact.
They do know the meaning of stealth and we can send Clove, I guess, and whatever minion we hire in Turn 2 to hide our involvement. Eggman is a really precarious position since he can't afford to do his usual MO since he don't have access to his factories and badniks to protect himself from retaliation, not to mention the Deadly Six has a bone to pick with him and they do control all his assets that survive the Shattering.
I much prefer bidding for the dam thing instead of trying to steal since it will probably involve fighting against everybody there including the Hooligans.
This is a verse based on games there's such thing a plot armor and dramatic time, no doubt if we try to do that we would trigger some trap that would not make the Warp Topaz to work or something.
If we're not buying it I say we steal it the second it changes hands. Nack gets his money, we get the artifact. Everybody wins! Except the guys who bought the thing but who gives a shit about them.
