How would The Lady reply? She doesn't communicate, right?

But to be that writer when The Lady of Pain and Taimet buy copies of your erotica series.
I personally would be praying that they didn't smite me for bad writing...

Oh dear... Tiamat didn't throw some of that into Taylor's hoard did she? Teens tend to react badly to that sort of gift (I know I did.)

Taylor wtf? You got a message from Tiamat and decided to wait until later? Stop fucking around with the wards.
:jackiechan::jackiechan::jackiechan::jackiechan::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
Anything on that scroll will be "Need to Know" at the PRT, and less then a half dozen people, with Taylor being the only one that is a Ward, being allowed on that list, and Taylor knows this.

Carlos will likely send word up the chain that Taylor got the scroll as soon as he can, and Taylor will read it when she can be sure no one else is around and call it in. Which means, after school at the earliest.

If it was an emergency, Tiamat would be there in person. It isn't so she's not.
Heh...

Taylor's math teacher was observing her class as they worked through their quiz when suddenly...

*POP*

... A strange, Mediterranean beauty in an expensive red dress appeared in the middle of her class, right next to Taylor's desk.

"What are you-" Taylor started, only to be cut off by the stranger.

"Sorry sweetie, but it's Emergency Dragon Business," the lady said, before laying a hand on Taylor's shoulder and disappearing in an instant with Taylor.

The teacher stood there with a dumbfounded look on her face. After a minute, she pulled out a bottle of clear liquid labelled "In Case of Cape BS", took a swig from it, pulled out her cell phone, and dialed up the PRT.

The Lady of Pain tends to respond to things that in any way displease her with extreme prejudice. If the individual is lucky, he gets away with merely being Mazed.

If I may point out, a Power without Servants or Worshipers isn't much of a Power, and with her history at that point of not recruiting Worshipers, Tiamat may have just slipped in under The Lady of Pain's rules. Naturally, a multiplaner Power reduced to that point would draw the Lady's attention, but just watching Tiamat squirm would be entertainment enough to allow her entry to Sigil, and would explain the Lady's unwavering attention.

That makes a lot of sense. And let's face it, you don't get a name like 'The Lady of Pain' because you're all bunnies and butterflies. Taking enjoyment in making a former Power squirm would be perfectly believable.

With clerics, they call it Faith. For arcane casters, they call it The Gift.
I was under the impression that a "gift" was sorcerers only. Warlocks get it from a Deal and wizards just Learn How The Weird Shit Works by spending many years studying it, regardless of bloodline status.

The idea of Magical Haves and Have-Nots, with nothing a "fix-it-up chappie" could do, causes problems, imo.

…I am now tempted to make a warlock with the patron Sylvester McMonkey McBean.

@Kitty S. Lillian Thanks, got 'em. I really need to get in the habit of running posts through grammerly, but as the app strips formatting out I have to spend some time re-doing things...

@ Everyone else reading along : There may be a disruption in posting; A couple of years ago I had to have the laminae of several vertebrae removed (C4-C7) to give me use of my left arms and legs back (also, to keep me breathing). Last December a MRI showed the same problem occurring in my lower back (L4-S1). I'm walking like I was walking two years ago. I'll keep thing going for as long as I can, but there may be a two week period where I'll be absent.

Forunately, all working stories are on a USB drive, so I can work on them on my laptop. I should be able to comment from the hospital via my tablet.

Ugh, condolences. I hope you get feeling better soon, whether on your own or with medical aid.

Just an idea, but run a copy through and then make the changes on the version that didn't go though? Depends on which would be more work, but it's just an idea.

Hope the op goes smoothly and you recover well. Hospital visits are never good, but sometimes a necessary thing. Just do as the docs tell you, we can wait. Thank you for giving us a heads up about a possible delay.

Oh, honey. Ouch. :eek2: Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Relax, though. We'll still be here when you're better. :)

Get well, and don't worry about us. Worry about getting better. We can wait until you are back on your feet, no problem with that.

I read this and all I got from it was that should be given all the hugs.

Get well soon.

Eyup. Want to make a wizard mad? Call them a sorcerer. Want to make a sorcerer or a wizard mad? Call them a warlock.

The wizard got their power by studying hard. Calling them a sorcerer is equivalent to saying they didn't put any work in and everything they have is just natural talent. Calling either of them a warlock is like accusing a college grad of getting their degree because they were blowing the Dean.
