I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

1. With their losses how badly was the new smelting going to be affected? Lower yield than normal due to fewer contributors?
2. What differentiates senior from junior members? Are senior members runelords of good standing who've been in the organisation a good amount of time, a member whose been around a decent amount of time and contributed so on?
3. Why the rune metal as the qualifier? Because its complex enough and relates to their secret purpose?
4. More of a meta-question, but is the True Rune of purification partially a result of Snorri's traits? My logic is comparing the processes together one is certainly markedly more efficient in many areas which fits productivity like no other (not sure if its more esoteric, but its certainly using a non standard component vs elder dragon's blood which is an obvious albeit rare reagent). I'm curious if we ended up with different traits, then we'd have ended up with a different path to adamantite?
1. Very badly, but it wouldve averaged out to around the same amount of Adamant per contributing member.
2. Responsibilities and tasks. Commitment to the cause usually in terms of financial or research contribution and plain old dwarf desire for some form of hierarchy.
3. Its part of the founding of the Brotherhood. The Logic being if Gromril is the best material for Runes, then circumventing the Rule of Three will likely need something better than Gromril. Which they found in Adamant. Sorta just ended up like that.
4. More luck than traits. A confluence of the right rolls doing well and other rolls doing poorly. The more normal route to Adamant would've been through the Brotherhood yes.

Most plans congregate into the same pattern for the first part and mostly differ on what research bonuses we are to get.
And while cleaning up some of the other research paths we have started, I believe it would be best to focus on the more difficult and obscure ones as suggested in this plan.
But I am not against it as long as we get as much as we can from this dealing and do some good for the Brotherhood, no need to be stingy especially in such times that were and will follow.

1. Final question sorry to bombard, but speaking of dawi hierarchy who's in charge of the Brotherhood...of Dron? As the FAQ helpfully points out Kurgaz probably ain't even alive and I don't believe its Alric Thungisson either and I've looked around and found nobody else.

Because we want all the runes as between Rule of Pride and potential combos having more master runes is a big benefit (not to mention it takes a lot of research to get new master runes!)

What can I say. I like the thematics of doing rune metal stuff with the rune metal nerds.
 
On weapons, I agree. But I think keeping Snorri alive is an *excellent* use of T5 mats.
Eh, still feels pretty wasteful since it still wouldn't be that relevant literally around 99.99 percent of the time and would realistically be 'taking up dust' relative to someone that would actually be going out to get the most use of it like super combatants. As mentioned only 2 fights ever really had Snorri beat up badly and they were extremely high tier opponents that showed up around 20 turns of each other and this quest has been going on for 21.

Besides that there are other things that would help keep Snorri alive that wouldn't require us to use up a one of time item for Snorri himself. Examples include a super gronti including a potential one that can be directly controlled by Snorri himself if the mind and waking research allows us to which can have us 'riding' around a giant super gronti made of pure gromril or even Adamant along with us being able to send it out to others without needing Snorri to use it. There is also the super healing banner that can use the heart that would give super healing not just to Snorri but everyone else around him.
Giving the Brotherhood the smelter and enough voidstones to build several is extremely beneficial for the long term well bieng of the Karaz Ankor though. More adamant in circulation means that dwarven hero units are less likely to die.
Something to note even if Voidstones are insanely rare feels like the Brotherhood with their power, influence and connections would have a much easier time acquiring any compared to us who would have a much harder time. Don't mind giving a few to them but something to consider.

Enemies only have to get lucky once, and things are only going to get worse for the Dawi as time goes on. If we can ensure Snorri stays alive into the Time of Woes, it'll save a massive portion of Golden Age runecraft.

Also, if we use the Greedy Heart on a Master Rune of Unyielding, it'l also give us tirelessness and regen - which would probably prevent our exhaustion collapses at the end of tinker fugues.

The Brotherhood, like the Burudin actually, was founded by Durin Thungnisson, Firstborn son of Thungni. Whereas the leadership of the Burudin has been unofficially taken up by Alric, the Brotherhood has hilariously enough maintained the council-like structure Durin first made. So the eldest senior Members which you will meet in time.

Funnily enough, these Master Runes really make you think about the variety of ways to make more Runes. Either from Combos which transition into Master Runes which, theoretically, might transition into more combos with enough skill, to making new Runes from studying materials, to making new Runes from studying existing Runes.

It's a lot more complex than just a matter of starting at the bottom of the tech tree and going up. I like it @soulcake

Got confused for a moment cause I thought Alric was the first born, then checked and saw nai he's only the oldest survivor.

Is now very curious as to what killed Durin the Deathless?

Nai, my bet is having a steady supply they'll start to experiment more towards their purpose.

That being said we should do the Rune Metal ASAP that'll get us mad props with them.

I feel like people are in these cases tend to get too hung up on Snorri himself or in quest terms protagonist syndrome where people think that Snorri is the one that deserves the best gear possible and the only one able to use his knowledge. This just isn't the case, not only are there people just better to have something that you are suggesting for the reasons mentioned but Snorri can pass all his knowledge to his apprentices so he doesn't necessarily need to be alive until the end if we can make it more likely that they can survive as well.

I mean you pretty much seemed to ignore the suggestions that used examples like the Super Gronti made using the heart that can either protect Snorri or Snorri can ride around in and control like a 40K Titan and other people can use when he isn't in battle. Or the super healing banner that also used the heart that would likely accomplish the same thing as the armor you are suggesting when stacked with a T4 Adamant armor using T4 mats.

Also the argument that the Greedy heart can help with preventing exhaustion is just, no offense, a really bad one. Besides suggesting that Snorri literally does runesmith work in literal armor made for combat you are suggesting to use a literally one of a kind material for such a minor thing as exhaustion. Not only has it not really been that big an issue but we literally can deal with it without using a one of a kind material when we can just use T4 mats and create something specifically to deal with that issue.
