On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I think it's in a gigantic hole in the ground, where Gazul broke Hashut, where in the original (but not better!) timeline would've stood Zharr Naggrund.
Well if so, being in the Dark Lands and so far from the rest of Karaz Ankor is rather concerning. Sure, the area is currently controlled by the Dwarves, but the surrounding region is not exactly 'friendly'. Of course, the dwarves there aren't going to just leave such a holy site undefended, but if Eight Peaks can fall, so too can such a far off region

The good news is the east dwarfs will probably all fight to the last to keep the portal safe if it's ever threatened. But yeah, I can see the area becoming a major battleground against Nagash in the far future. Honestly, I think it works out if instead of blackfire pass, Sigmar earns his bro credentials beating up Nagash out east at the portal instead.

Y'all making a lot of assumptions on Nagash being a thing.

He got his power and training in Dhar in canon from interrogating a trio of Druchii sorceresses that were captured by Nehekhara.

We are kinda in the process of butterflying some events pertaining to Makekith.

I kinda want Snorri's wife to show up and hit him over the head with his own helm saying she can't believe he spent almost a millennium wasting his time distracted by morning her. And almost Half a millennium screwing up with his daughter. Then want to look at his super cloak and wonder what else they could make with some of the materials he has. While at the same time, trying to teach Kastarh as much as she can to fill in what Snorri's mom couldn't.

welcome to the afterlife, Go join that line to speak into the rune to tell anyone still alive any unfinished grudges that you feel needs to be resolved. And once you've done that or you don't have any you can join the table to feast with us.

Maybe? There is like at least three major steps before we can get to that point, but if it works it'll be nice.

Not gonna push for working in that direction outside of research drip though, since I do not expect this to work at all.
There's not really any reason to do that when we have the waystone network. No real need to go fill up batteries when we can learn how to make new waystones and rearrange the network to siphon the north's magic to the Karaks. No one on Ulthuan should care since any magic we burn up on the way is less that they have to deal with at the vortex. Long term, if we can get major waystones in every Karak, we can power major runic defenses and projects as neeed.

I—the cloak has granted me visions, premonition! Fate conspires against us.
On a different note, this is, well, lets say incredibly concerning, but also incredibly vague, and therefor probably worth some thought and attention.

Initial assumption for Fate in this quest would be something from the original timeline trying to pass to the dawi's detriment, but, well, we're in a giant deadzone of nothing big being fated here, let alone to the dawi's great downfall.

That then leads to thoughts of the second most likely source of fate conspiring, especially as an actor, in the form of the big blue bird himself, Tzeentch. This, however, is also not seemingly all that likely. It'd need some pretty damn big leverage to directly do much of anything against the Dawi, and the only leverage I'm aware of would be the Fimir that everyone is already set to jump on, and that wouldn't really be hitting the East Dwarves in specific.

That said, while Tzeentch himself may not be directly acting against us, there is a third option that comes to mind, and seems distinctly possible. We've already seen a prophet of Hashut summon and listen and deal with a Changer of Ways back in Dum yeah? What if they got exceptionally unlucky for everyone involved when they tried that again? What if they called forth Kairos Fateweaver? Would that not be most fittingly described as Fate conspiring against the Dawi? Right area, right intensity, just this side of plausible, and entirely fitting and unfortunately accurate of a description.

Anyone else got any ideas what that could reasonably be? It'll probably not be our problem but still.

Create Ghost Toys: The Underearth is full of beardlings and plaitlings who have never known the touch and joy of one of your toys, time to rectify that. You'll figure out how and make enough toys to give each one of them 3 toys each you swear on your beard! -Drunk Snorri probably
You do realize he'll just create the automated assembly line using runes.
And he'll involve engineers too to optimize the work flow and the number of moving parts.

And then he'll apply a patent for the automated assembly line just to show Vragni how you do mass production.
Well, Artifacts of Ancestor Level Power don't exactly grow on trees to be sacrificed?
If Snorri ever learns of this IC and can do so without exploding a Magic Storm might work, but I wouldn't hold my breath here
Option: Tapping the waystones: Sure it only goes one way.... But maybe we can figure something out without blowing it up.
Option:The Vortex keeps dumping fresh magic into Ulthuan. They'll probably trade it for something.
Option: Albion's Oghams sink the winds into the ground.... This is bad for the land. We should alleviate that.
