On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I kinda don't see the mammoths as cavalry.

I think of them as durable weapon platform my self. Just think of how mobile a anvil of doom would be charging around the battlefield on top of a armoured mammoth

Snorri makes prodigious use of the rune transcriber as least which is not based around killing or protection.

And preservation barrels are also known for medicine and alcohol.

It just seems that they don't really make runes for peaceful purposes if it doesn't help out people communally contribute back to society like the lights and air purifying ones or runic pickaxes because of the mindset that runes are for people who did something to deserve them.

Though now you have me thinking if runic mine carts/wagons that can propel themselves can lead to a transportation revolution if it picks up enough speed.

Like how Avatar's Ba Sing Se has the cart system with tracks built into the very bedrock of their city, just with Runes instead of earthbending.

The mammoths would be Snorri's new stealth delivery mechanism. Braana's are great, but a lot fo their value comes from taking very visible air space.

Mamoth's otoh can chuck snorri from ground level "stealthily"

So we have 3 traditionally opposed creatures becoming friends/Allie's/pets of dwarves, can anyone guess what is next and which Zorn dwarf has a heart attack first?

I want to say our girl Fjolla ends up entrancing some of the big cats(long tooth or white tigers) with her gems and light runes so they follow her as a crazy cabal of cats, making her a rare married crazy old cat lady.

Second thought is Nain ending up helping with some of the boats(special equipment to handle salt water and still be a good weapon at sea) and ends up with sea serpent swarm.

Finally, our dragon babies need to go take their own followers(like maybe a chimera or a group of Demigryphs)

I wonder how they could help Snerra to start paying her back, besides the obvious warfare or cavalry.

Could they help with above-ground construction? Giv8ng her directions to special sites of interest?

...Maybe they can pay Snerra with shed mammoth wool?

Honestly, for all that being a giant, intelligent mammoth is awesome it really limits their ability in a lot of ways. I don't think they have the ability (or desire, or need) to create anything too impressive... unless they have some access to some kind of magic I guess.
Maybe by acting as a trade network to pass along reagents from exotic locations, considering just how widespread and dispersed their civilization sounds.

There are no intelligent big cats in warhammer, afaik.

But... i present an alternative: Unicorns

1) Intelligent
2) Shiny
3) Drawn to purity and selflessness... and we know the thought process behind Fjolla's most recent (unfortunate) deed
4) Antimagic!

You people are thinking too hard. Snorri was awarded with a bunch of giant goats and sheep just a turn ago.

Ramsteel goat cavalry is the future.

All that antimagic would just wreck fimir spell casters. the spells that go through have to deal with magic resistance(2).

Could you stack so many antimagic effects in an area that it simply just creates a Maw?
