On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

hey, can anybody think of a cursed gold talisman rune because soulcake accepted the cursed gold weapon rune if he accepts my armor and banner runes which would be cool, I just need a talisman rune to complete the set and I'm tapped out
Rune of Baneful Gleam (Talisman): This Rune, which must be inscribed onto a golden amulet, causes it to pulse with a pleasing light in the midst of combat. The eye of the foe will be naturally drawn to it at the most crucial moments, distracting them from the fight, with especially weak-willed opponents reduced to fumbling attempts to grasp the talisman with single-minded focus.

Thank you. Looks great to me

I could see it, but like IronFist I don't think Skarren and Ancestral Aegis would really interact like that correctly. I'm also a little skeptical that the defensive AOE stacks up compared to the offensive mode in a way to make it really worth it.

Whether or not it works is something Snorri would have to try out once he is home. Shouldn't even cost an action, just take the banner somewhere empty, start up Skarren and see what happens.

As for which effect is better:
Impossible to say, both are fairly broken and it ultimately boils down to a matter of taste.
The Aegis makes the throng stronger and the enemy weaker, it also allows Snorri to fight with his people and look out for Karstah.
Skarren removes part of the enemys forces by dragging them to a different battlefield.

Personally I would say Skarren is the better option when we hold the Initiative and the Aegis is better when we are being ambushed.

Mechanically we would get Snorris bonus added to the throng along with a buff from the Aegis(+15 seems reasonable) which may or may not be more than the forces he draws away.
In Boss fights we would lose the passive damage effect of Skarren, in return we would be able to team up with other heroes, like we did during the fight with Kholek.

Narratively I find Snorri the ominous environmental effect that dwarfs see somewhere in the distance unsatisfying.
I want him to fight alongside his fellow dwarfs, interfere when someone is in trouble and actually be there when a hearthwarden gives their life.

[x] [Campaign] Retreat: Fall back, rest, recuperate and prepare for the foe. Return to normal turns, go through the Rune Trades. Both sides are able to prepare for the next round of conflict, and efforts to bring in Valma and Igna will be made by the Dwarfs.

[X] [Snorri] Write In: Perhaps a change of approach is in order. Burn a path, such that the Throng marches in your wake through ash and dust instead of swamp and rot. The forces of the Plaguefather shall be sterilised in the fires of Skarrenbakaraz.

[X] [Campaign] Push on: Strike once more, attack, hopefully break through and destroy the next Fimir City. Campaign continues. Losses from this point will not be replaced before the campaign season ends. The Fimir do not have a chance to prepare, but neither do you.
[X] [Snorri] Continue Storm. Don't stop doing what's been working so far. Of all that could change for the next time, whenever it happens, your part is not one such thing. Snorri continues to fight away from the Throng.

Bear in mind that the Tzeentch aligned group is still an unknown, and interfering during or after we throw ourselves at their opposite (Nurgle) is 100% in character for them, and we will have zero replenishments or support because this is basically a last hurrah for the campaign at the moment.

Cool it seems souls has gone balistic and is making an update multiple times a week I love it.
I probably should've mentioned this, but currently, he is finally done with midterms finals. Which has done wonders for his workload and his stress. This means he has over the past few weeks, been making leaps and bounds in his updating turns and writing.
You can actually see the amount of time it took between writing and when he was busy with school. In addition, other things happened that forced his hand. I'm just hoping that this is his last year going to school and only needs to find a stable job so he won't have to do any more stress for the Finals in May.

Hmm, Do Prince Gimli and King Gloin know that Gimli's belt is a third component to a set combo, or is that an Easter Egg Snorri left in?

My thought is to retreat to give more time to health (in one way or another), equip and study the enemy.

Make a fortress to boost the logistic/defenses of the area already conquered

And hopefully see if the evil cyclops 'matriarchs' will try to kill each other.

Plus, to see what the elves are doing and if we can get any of those to help by burning the ground or something like that.
edit: It seems I took too long^^.

Edit: Whoops. It said the vote was still open for another 54 minutes so I didn't check if Soul posted that it was closed.

Actually can someone remind me what happened to the road building Golem? Shouldn't it work here too? I get that this march is a lot more vigorous but still.

Thats Miner, i mean the one from the start of campaign. The one specifically made so that we could build road as we go through the marshlands.
Or was it sent too?
it here with us it just no matter how good it is we are still in a fucking nurgle demon infested swamp that actively trying to kill us/rot everyhting away which slows everything down

Ah, you mean the De-swampinator! No, that's still here.
But I suspect it wouldn't have such a large area of effect if the swamp was being magically reinforced by nurgle bad juju.

Urgh. I tol' you about nurglites bro. Now we're going all in, risking everything?..

Nurgle made me sick so I couldn't participate in the pre-vote discussion.

best to lance nurgle's boil now instead of letting get even worse, then retreat and let khorne and tzenntches forces fight each other over the territory.

Yes and yes.
We can combine it into a new MRune (Which would probably be weaker than the MountainSoul combo), and then we'd need to understand it into a Banner Variant (which would further weaken it to make it an AOE effect).
The Master Rune of Mountainsouled as an Armor Rune would be stronger than the baseline Armor Mountainsouled combo, but weaker than the super juiced Mountainsouled+ combo we're actually wearing, to clarify for everyone else reading. The Master Rune as a Banner Rune will hand out an effect to everyone in its range that is weaker than the baseline Master Rune as an Armor Rune effect; there is absolutely drop off in individual power when you go from Armor to Banner runes, but its not catastrophic.

Is there a source on that as I kinda expect the MRune to be weaker than the regular combo.
Sure some runes can be better than others but if MMountainsoul is like twice as good as MUnyeilding then we're just going to get into an endless spiral where making anything other than our most compressed rune is a plain worse decision and thats pretty boring game design.
