@I.F. Ister
So I've asked everyone in 'Clan Farfaxung (White Horse)' if I could join-- and they all said yes/agreed, so could my character 'Amerion Wardson' be moved over to the clan and the 'Family: TBD' section changed to being, like, 'distant cousin' or something like that?

[x] [Law Proposal] The name of our settlement should be Rekavidr, meaning driftwood, to represent our storm tossed origins.

I've always liked this name

Feels appropriate

It really is the best name, and if we make it to having another settlement we can name that one one if the originals.

[x] [Law Proposal] Challengers may not pick a proxy to fight in their stead.

Back up your challenges with your own steel, not kins, not clan's.

[X] [Law Proposal] The name of our settlement should be Eptirhallr- meaning 'In memory of Hallr'-- to remember Hallr's sacrifice and the fall of Gotland.

(Stealing the name from KreenWarrior-- Eptirhallr was among the four names they had mentioned yesterday)

Ivor's proposal regarding sparring has been ruled non-canonical due to conference with IF. If Sigmund wants to make a proposal regarding sparring that's fine but I'm hopeful that obviates a need to question Ivor's honor further and thus head off that snafu.

Sigmund seconds this law. Challengers should fight their own challenges, but the challenged may have proxy lest the strong take advantage of it to prey upon the weak.

[X] [Law Proposal] Sigmund offers his services to the Thing as a detector of truth and deceit. Thanks to his status as a great-grandson of Tyr, the god who holds association with justice and order, Sigmund is able to is granted knowledge when somebody breaks their word in his vicinity, allowing him to detect when someone is being truthful or deceitful with their words.

[Law Proposal] Katla opposes the idea that challengers cannot choose a proxy, as it prevents those who cannot fight from seeking justice, and suggests that it leaves those who cannot fight vulnerable to abuse. She suggests that any spouse, parent, or child ought be able to act as a proxy, and if none of these survive, any neighbor might be chosen.

Is this the right idea?

Sigmund points out that in those cases, the kin not only have the right to challenge over the insult to their family, but the obligation to do so.
Is this the right idea?
Yes.
To make sure I have this right. For a law to pass, someone needs nine other citizens to support his platform?
No. That is only if the law proposal is contested.

Yeah, that will work

If you propose a law, and somebody counters it, then it needs 9 judges, otherwise no
