Ragnarr's face grows blank, rage starts to seep into his eyes, and his tone is no longer conciliatory and friendly becoming instead sharp and precise "A shaming strike is an extreme escalation over a child's argument over a toy. Neither I or my family will lie down for this kind of thing under any circumstances, and a price will be paid for striking my son in this way. I will give you a third and final opportunity to pay that price in wealth. If you reject this offer it will be paid instead with damage upon your body. I will, for the good of the settlement, try not to kill you, and suggest we wrestle rather than fight with weapons, though if you prefer a full fight with all weapons, so be it. So, what price will you be paying, wealth or pain?"
Erik stiffens and an ugly look grows on his face.

"Then we must fight, I cannot stand by and be lambasted for letting my boy defend himself the best way he could. Your son is not being able to avoid the strike is his own fault. I will not run from this fight. Not ever again."

It's a good think Erik isn't part of one of the big factions, I guess.

less good that the Hersir and probably future jarl is ending up fighting someone over what is basically a children's spat. its totally justified but its a bad look for all involved

"Ragnar's gory story again.." Moli spoke softly.

Truly, stories were poetry. Rhyming was their themeing.

He prepares the field for Ragnar and Erik's duel with proper lighting and all.
Debt to settle

@DeadmanwalkingXI ; @Shard

The day after the party, Gefjosa goes to Moli's house with 2 units of Glow Coral (or 1 if it hasn't regenerated yet) in the brightest, prettiest colors shes got. "I apologize for my behavior at your party, Moli Spotlight. Please accept this," she gestures to the crude wheelbarrow full of raw materials, "as payment."
Moli is surprised by this, mostly because later events and drunkenness had greatly overshadowed Gefjosa's actions in his mind. He is also hungover.

"What.. but.. it was exciting... wait, right, you were missing the fighting.. have to do writing.. Oh." He stumbles, somehow still in rhyme. Oh.

"This glowing be brightening my house. So it is written, forgiven." He says, with more bearing. "I hope, with mine cousin Harald, thine are not riven."

Are we allowed to...gamble on judicial or honor duels?

Edit: Moli isn't just a competent flier, he's the best wingman we have, confirmed^

@CoatRackRanger If Gefjosa responds would you mind taking it to pms or spoilering it, I'd rather not scroll past in thread and read it, don't want to know it.

A ring had been formed from five cloaks laid about the ground. It wasn't a holmgang--thank the Gods--but it was a fighting ring nonetheless. The first man who leaves the ring by any means loses. This would be a match of limbs, a battle of wrestling prowess--neither Ragnarr nor Erik had wanted to spill blood on a day not their own, at a party neither organized.

Stripped to the waist, both men stand across from the other as they lock eyes. Though both men stand at equal height, all present know that this is far from a fight of equals. Ragnarr's body is thick with muscle and with a wrestler's build; Erik--though he lacks not for strength--is a man of somewhat slender make. Not only that, but rumors abound that Erik isn't even blooded while Ragnarr was well-known in Gotland for slaying his foes on the field of battle.

Neither man speaks as they take their places at their respective ends of the ring--all words had already greeted the wind. There isn't a call to start, merely a simultaneous bending of the knees and a shallow mirrored nod.

Skin meets skin as the fighters meet in the middle, their arms intertwining as both seek grips.

Ragnarr grits his teeth, banishing the pain in his fingers from where Erik's hand caught him. Dipping forward into a shoulder-check, Ragnarr slips his arm under Erik's while his knee finds the underside of Erik's thigh. Lifting the somewhat smaller man clear off the ground, it is a simple matter for Ragnarr to hurl Erik from the ring.

His shoulder scrapes against the ground as he lands with a thump, eyes transfixed by the sky.

Ragnarr stands up to his full height, his breathing slightly labored as his mouth forms words, "Let no man call Erik a coward, for he has fought for his family."

Turning on the spot, Ragnarr makes his exit.

@Vanestus sonar can be shapeshifted, so you can have it already when you want. If you want to get better at doing that, you could get Improved Shapeshifting. Or get it shapecrafted if you prefer.

Since I apparently have 2 PTs left can I buy a shape-craft that will allow me to breathe on both land and sea (not just water, sea)?

@I.F. Ister @DeadmanwalkingXI

This is allowed and has been added.

Trenchwork Defenses (+2 Prestige)

How to get a 2 prestige lot improvement with only Passive actions, an ooc guide:

Step 1: A noble sacrifice.
Step 2: A girl borderline freaking out
Step 3: Resolve.
Step 4: Teamwork.
Step 5: Teenage Drama
Step 6: Prayer.
Step 7: Blood sacrifice.
Step 8: A half decent Omake.
Step 9: Mix well and serve hot.

Moli is doing his best by his cousin!

I don't mind responding to Gefjosa in PMs if needed. Or I guess we can put it in spoilerboxes.
Moli Partying

When Moli finds a good narrative opportunity, he's going to attempt Twist-Granting for Ragnarr. This ICly definitely happens in front of a whole lotta people, probably during what would be one of his poetry recitals.

(Poetry here: NorseQuest: Collective Edition (Group-Based Xianxia Settlement-Builder) Original)
(Moli is still doing this. Preferably, it happens during the party in front of a lot of people before the child fight started happening.)

Hey I noticed someone mention sonar as a shapecrafter they were interested in, what's the verdict on ones that are basically just stuff like enhanced senses like Night vision or enhanced special awareness?

Also if I wanted a stealth skill would that have something like camouflage folded into it?

Totally valid. You can just do those with your own shapeshifting as well, no shapecrafting needed (and buying Improved Shapeshifting obviously helps there). Or just buy Traits. Increased Vision includes some night vision, for example.

Also if I wanted a stealth skill would that have something like camouflage folded into it?

It would have some magical camouflage as part of it, yeah. Shapeshifting can also boost stealth.

I think I remember someone making glass with the sand? Did they use a skill for it or were they just able to?

I think you need either a skill or appropriate Kunna for that. Moli can do it for sure, and the Fire Kunna people probably can do something, but I don't think the rest of us can.

As an unrelated question, do you want to spend your Ordstirr? You have enough for 2 PT.

Hey Ragnarr ( @DeadmanwalkingXI ) do you think you could use your force Kunna to blast our way to the tin deposit on my land? The settlement knows where some copper deposits are so if we reach it we could get some bronze production up and running after some trial and error.

That seems like a good way to give our location away to people. Best just do it the old fashion way and dig down or use soil kunna to do so.
