Magic Eyes Scout Team Findings;

The cavalry have broken off from the main skeleton forces, disappearing into the waves.

It seems that the skeleton army is controlled remotely by a single source of power, with the skeletons having relay-skeletons that are otherwise indistinguishable from normal skelebozos.

There are a dozen goliaths, with each also containing a central relay-skeleton. Take it out and the whole goliath goes down.
"I lay eyes and say, this army be nodes of body. Break the nodes, wreak the bodes. Their weakness will lead us till we're victors." Moli says.

[X] Brynjar will, at the request of Ragnarr, review the information provided by the scouting team and attempt to predict the skeleton army's tactics so that we can refine our own.

Permitting Conflict, Averting Crisis

The end of the Saga was not as Glorious as they thought it might be, but satisfying nonetheless. Instead of a grueling battle, thorough preparation and careful coordination saw their battle won before it had even begun. Thrice before had the Void Eagle troubled these storm-swept children of Ash and Elm, killing once, running once, and being driven away at the last. However, it had tried to prey on the children, and though it was long decided by the Kare Sky-Dancer, Grid Frostsdottir, and Valo Halvarson that it would see its end by their hand, they were given a more satisfying cause.

'Honestly, did that beast think we'd sink into despair even if it did eat that child? It already saw Kare return from the grave and knew we were all warriors.' thought Valo gathering up the net as Grid encapsulated the corpse in an icy container.

'They both seemed to want the heart and all I really did was throw the net,' thought Valo, "I'll forgo the heart you two, but I'd like to stake a claim on the Bone, Feathers, and maybe that organ if you don't mind."

As he said this, the eyes of Kare Sky-Dancer and Grid Frostdottir meet, mouths open and the battle for the heart of an Eagle begins.

"I did get us that net and took out it's wings. And last time if I hadn't stunned and crippled it, it would've killed one or two of you," argues Grid.

"Well my flash-bang trick made it open to that attack, and I landed the killing blow. Also, it was my nemesis," says Kare.

Valo begins to tune out the argument.

'By the gods, a little situational awareness would be nice,' Valo takes a careful look around, the last time they'd gone on a hunt, the three had attracted the attention of the very bird they'd claimed here.

'It was willing to run at the first hint of danger but the next one might not be.' After confirming nothing attacking from above Valo patrols the little mountain perch around them and the face of the mountain below them for any terrestrial threat.
If the arguing Norseman and woman took the time to listen they'd occasionally hear the twang of a bowstring and the splat of a flatsquitto being…flattened.

"A duel then?" asks Kare.

"A duel then." Grid eagerly agrees.

"I'll be holding onto that Heart in the meantime then," Valo exclaims, "I swear it on my honor and Ordstirr. Do either of you have any objections? No? Good."

Later…at the start of the Holmgang

'I wonder who'll win,' Valo muses as he rides his newly revealed Sea Turtle around the dueling islet. 'Kare's the more martially inclined, but Grid is very creative with her Kunna use and very adaptable in combat.'

Valo watches with some interest waiting on the duel. Both combatants show a flash of hesitation, but there's nothing for it. To yield before the battle, to jump out of the islet, to back off now is to admit cowardice, to regret their course of action, to gain nid, to be labeled dreng.

A nod begins the duel, acknowledgment from Grimfari Jarl. Yet in the end, it was Aspects burning, three arrows striking, two arms flying, and another heart in the balance. It was over in an instant.

'Strike fast, strike first, strike hard. End the fight in a single blow.' Word Valo's brother had said many times, word Valo only now could understand as he handed the box containing the heart to Kare.

A couple of days later…

"You want the what?" Valo asks confused.

"I want a share of the blood," says Kare.

"I think we agreed that everybody gets a share of the blood," says Grid.

"When did we agree to that?" asks Kare.

"We never agreed to such a thing," Valo says.

"That's what I assumed? The group that hunted Evil Joe all got some blood from their hunt." says, Grid.

"I thought you bargained the Eagle blood to the Seeress in exchange for seidr she put on the net?" asks Valo

"Weeeelllll! Technically all I told her was that I'd give her animal blood in the coming year. So we could still take it for ourselves." says Grid.

At that Valo's mouth drops, dread fills his gut, and he feels as if something is watching. Valo begins to pace as he begins to panic saying, "No, no, no! No way! Not a good idea! You want to risk the nid?!"

"Relax. I can say I simply promised animal blood and never specified Void Eagle's blood," says Grid.

"Well, I think she assumed we'd give her the blood of the animal she helped, in part, to take down and more specifically the Eagle for which you bargained the net!" Valo argues.

"She agreed to the stated terms and I'm not really breaking them so it's not nid. I'll give her a lot of blood in recompense," assures Grid.

"She'll still feel cheated Grid! What do you think happens to people when they wrong a Seer, perceived or otherwise?! First of all, she's one-half of the pair who are responsible for getting us back to life! Secondly, she might put a curse on you if she's mad enough, spirits, hauntings, bad stuff! Thirdly she could promise rewards to see your work stifled and life made harder! There is a reason people don't like to get on the bad side of those who know Seidr!" Valo is increasingly frantic and yelling louder and louder.

Thankfully, as he continues to lecture and panic, Grid contemplates calmly and acquiesces in the end. After this, the three finalize their claims and leave amicably.

Valo, in the privacy of his own home, sighs in relief thinking, 'Crisis averted.'

So we're putting together a kill team to go after the Necromancer following the initial wave of undead. Gunnar and I think Kare would be in charge of transport, since they can fly people with them, and we need at least one person with Seeing Eyes to point the way. Who else is interested? We're probably only going as a group of 4 or 5, since we still need people holding against the main Skeleton Wave

Anja Giantbone (Giantblooded, Improved Shapeshifting, Hard to hurt, improvised weapons 1)

Anja is a huge girl on the cusp of adulthood, already seven foot tall and . she has long dark hair, gathered into several braids that frame her strong features and ice blue eyes. she's quiet, with few words to say but is a favourite of the many smaller children who often take to following her around and telling her to lift large or heavy objects around the settlement.

does this work?

[X] Ragnarr Fair-Spoken, in addition to commanding the forces, spends time personally putting defensive runework on the improvised barriers we are constructing. Things like "No unliving thing may climb or break this barrier." Anti-undead stuff.
-[X] He asks Agmundr and Sigmund, who have said he should order them on what to do, to aid in the physical construction of the defenses.

This is a temporary threadmark informing you that you have ~9 hours of real-life time until the Skeletons arrive at the Main Camp of Rekavidr. If you decide to go out and meet them on the battlefield, time will be shortened considerably.

Since we've had people watching, have they actually destroyed any infrastructure other than the 'chicken coop'?

"The one who plot this lot of draugr is a Nidingr. We made pace, but their face was not around to paste. Many tricks they use free to flee any righteous justice." Moli remarked.

This works great, though you should know that if you use Improvised Weapons on other Norsemen, it inflicts nid, which is to say shame and damage to their cultivation. They will be much more upset than if you hit them with a real weapon or used wrestling. That's not necessarily a reason not to take it (and not an issue at all on foreigners or animals), just a head's up. Do you wanna stick with that?

If it has contained living beings—disregarding fields and the like—they have destroyed it.

So they're destroying houses even if they're empty, but not fields?

yeah, kreen already let me know. i makes sense for the character and i don't intend to get into any fights with other norsemen.

Wait, does that mean they're Norse? If they can be identified as Niding, and know how to hide themself from Norse magics, are they actually a part of the culture, or just have something general purpose enough to work against us?

As of this post, the Skeleton Army is here on the Property Map
What...is that red dot?

i have also realized that its now 2:20 in the morning my time. which means i need sleep.
