..Does Halla have a SteelMother's granddaughter as a aunt? that could be useful.

Wait, Norse track family back 5 generations right? But Halla has Hallr soul. They are the same person.

So does that mean that her entire bloodline would be considered more close kin that normal?

Like somebody after the 6 generations would still be close kin with somebody 8 generations back?

Can we store our frenzy in the owl?
Sure!
Hair/Beard Tendrils? Prehensile Hair feels like a Xianxia trope we could have fun with
Makes sense to me, though it would probably amount to little more than having an 'extra hand', if you will.
I'm wondering about a reach-increasing effect, maybe not so dramatic as Dhalsim, but then again...
Perhaps!
Natural weapons, maybe? Hair/beard as suggested above, but also maybe hardened nails?
I'm not really sure what mechanical effects natural weapons would have.

I'll say that trying out new shapeshifting stuff (that isn't on the list) is a research topic.

'Careful-Strider, without a doubt. Ironjaw will want to test your mettle first and the Matron will probably just try to kill you. I... well, let's just say that her daughter and I got along a little too well for her liking.'
...lol
I should have expected it, i really should have, but i didn't. guess thats one of the side effects of the synergy between poor impulse/self control and Fecund?
At least.... we got another possible relative now on the map.
You have 'slots' for shapeshifting and every further hamr rank up gives you an extra slot. You also retroactively get a slot from reaching Hamr 4, as well as Hamr Infusion 3. You can swap out slots during turn-planning/combat downtime/whenever I give you an opportunity to.

Your fylgja, since it's at Infusion Rank 3, has also unlocked a shapeshifting slot of its own.
lets see....
Hamr 4+7=2 slot.
+1 from 3 Odr infused into Hamr.
That's 3 slots already. neat
(I'm open to suggestions for more shapeshifting stuff.)
Does sharpened senses work for hearing as well? or touch based sensing?
As for ideas...
Mobility is solved by tricks, so, perhaps extra stamina/endurance?
No sure if gills would be worth it.... perhaps quciened metabolism for better healing or something?
yeah, im kinda flailing here, natural weapons would be another choice.... but but dense muscles and offensive reflexes got that part covered, i think.
hm.... better lingaments/joints?

Any guidelines for better ideas?

A prehensile tail? poisonous fangs like those of snakes?

now that i think abaout it, is poison considered dishonorable by the Norse? Would be Nid to use poisoned weapons?

I'm thinking we take High-Twitch Muscles, since it'd help us if we ever get into a fight with the Foemen, and it'd still be useful outside of that. Perhaps the second could be one of the sensory ones (Sharpened Senses or Target-Focused Eyes)? If only so it cures our poor eyesight, on top of whatever they do. I don't really have an opinion on either. Fasts would also be cool, but I think we could choose something else instead since we have a bunch of pockets that we don't seem to be getting rid of anytime soon, and we can switch out shapeshifting bonuses whenever we want. These are just my ideas, I imagine other people have more thought out ones.

Would storing Frenzy in our owl still allow us to use it freely?

Actually, also, can any of them be taken multiple times and if so what's the limit (I doubt taking Dense Muscles 4 times is allowed)?

More generally, those look awesome, and being able to reassign them is great. We'll definitely want Fast Creation eventually (Pockets are bad for this), but with these able to be reassigned not in the short run (we're not using the Pockets for anything else and won't be going below 9 any time soon...those might change, but we can do Fast Creation then).

Aside from that, High-Twitch Muscles, Dense Muscles, and Supported Grip are the three best options for us in general, I think. We probably go with those as our 'default load-out', along with Stealth or Senses on the Owl (though I could be argued for something utility-ish over Supported Grip).

We may well adjust that for specific missions, though (as others note, the Stealth booster is great for going into Horra's...honestly we may just go with that, senses, and High-Twitch Muscles for that).

This is really interesting, this is far more effective in storing frenzy then pockets (1 fast to 3 frenzy rather 3 pockets to 1 frenzy) but that only makes me more curious as to the real benefit of the pockets.

Yeah, Fast Creation is 3 times as efficient storing physical things, but 9 times as efficient at storing Frenzy meaning using Pockets for that is super not intended...so what are they intended for?

If we got Supported Grip, could we still use Ashen Kiss in our off hand?

We should be able to, yes. If we then got Ambidexterity things get a bit silly, and I'm tempted I assure you. That has issues for Hugareida use, though, so we'd probably use it in specific situations, not all the time. But the free hand remains very good.

Still useful if your hands are otherwise occupied, and it makes braiding ones hair a snap, I'd take it :p
dont forget the sheer handyness! can hold more stuff in day to day life (would longer hair give stronger "hands" too or just longer ones?) and a free projectile launcher in battles.
like, just imagine it, you are fighting a buff warrior, one hand is strangling theirs so they can't use magice, another is locked with weapons in both yours and his hand.... and he keeps not only headbutting you, but his BEARD gives you one-two punches... and his hair just pulled out his sax....

Edit: This reminded me:
EXTRA LIMBS!!!

It is, yes.

All of them can be taken multiple times, the only limit is the number of slots.

The ones that double rolls will be upgraded to triple, then quadruple, then quintuple, and so on if taken multiple times.

Note; You do not gain the benefits of shapeshifts put into your fylgja. Your fylgja gets those.

Correct.

(though I could be argued for something utility-ish over Supported Grip).

Combining Ambidextrous Hands with Supported Grip would allow us to be extremely fast and deadly in combat. Wielding both Ashen Kiss and Sagaseeker at the same time.

This is really interesting, this is far more effective in storing frenzy then pockets (1 fast to 3 frenzy rather 3 pockets to 1 frenzy) but that only makes me more curious as to the real benefit of the pockets.

Maybe those Pockets are for Seidr? A type of division between resources of the Body (Frenzy) and resources of the Mind (Seidr). That is why storing of the two in the opposite space is possoble but inefficient.

so what are they intended for?
Well, we know we can put our soul fruits and such in there, and we haven't tried it yet so we don't know how much a single pocket can store but one possible use is to store a large amount extra berry and such.

Another is either boosting whatever you put into the pockets with Othstirr (and maybe Odr) or boosting something else because when we put some in it did feel like when we normally use it on a skill or attribute.

But it could also be an ineffective way to store thing but that can store anything.

I'm not really sure what mechanical effects natural weapons would have.
Maybe have them act as weapons that are worse than normal weapons that are availible to us, but are imune to disarming tricks and effects. The limb hase to be removed to make the weapon unavailble for us.
And maybe have it not occupy a "hand" slot. Basically allow dualwielding with just the ambidextrous perk with sagaseeker. Without having the supportet grip.
That would give us Dualwielding for 2 Slots. With a worse weapon, but one that is immune to some effects.

Wow. Just jacking up speed or damage exclusively is suddenly very tempting. And yeah, I figured on the fylgja thing, which is why I asked about Fasts, as that's sort of a way around that...well, it is for one slot's worth anyway.

Awesome. That's definitely the long-term plan when our fylgja isn't scouting then. At least, until we level it a lot more and/or pick up the tricks to make better use of it in combat.
