I thought of a name, it is now titled 'Defiance'.

I'll be using that on this event on either Hallotta or Haydis but which depends on what other people do with their dice. Maybe I'll try another poem and get one for each...though I doubt inspiration will strike me like it did for that one so it may be a bit.

Just play it now, that'll guide the moves of everyone else who comes later.

End of Ignorance (DeadmanwalkingXI)
Ignorance isolates all
Inventions imprisoned
Dark days drift onward but
Dawn's light brings new knowledge

The thirst for transcendence
To true teaching minds bend
Ignorance is broken
Inevitable end

Another poem. Probably even worse at sticking to the Skaldic rules this time, but it does try. A bit more high concept and metaphorical this time, but similarly themed. Titled 'End of Ignorance'.

I'm weirdly inspired today. I have no idea where these are even coming from...

Sweet. That makes one each for Haydis (as I mentioned above) and Hallotta, which is what I am doing with them.

Updating our Journal...

EDIT: We need 3 more Reward Dice to make sure every one of our people has at least one nudge in their favor. 4 are currently still on the table. There's also the chance that other people will earn further Rewards in an omake drive on the way as well. Stigr, Kurt, and Tryggr are presently un-nudged. (Stigr at least has Godly Luck, which probably counts for one nudge, but we have to assume that the Dice will fuck at least somebody if they can, the more wiggle room we have, the happier we'll be)

This is not the time to get complacent though! I want the Enemy's play here to fail utterly, and beyond all possible recourse.

That being said, our entire batch of Kittens are up to only being in danger on nat 1s. Hallbjorn in particular literally cannot fail to survive thanks to his slightly higher Hamingja. The other baby has one nudge, but probably only has Hamingja 1 right now so she dies on any value less than a 10 most likely, and that would be tragic. Might be a good candidate for the leftover die once everyone's gotten a nudge?

Gabriel also is High Plot Relevance as well, so he might be a good candidate as well.

I'd prioritize giving Hallotta a second Reward Die over giving one to anyone else honestly. Let's not have any dead children if we can avoid it. Then one for Gabriel, a second for Haydis (she is a noncombatant, and getting another female employee is gonna be rough if she dies, plus she's the one related to the livestock dealer who we'd rather not sour relations with...her survival is actually super relevant to a bunch of stuff) then one for the people who don't have one.

After this we should make a runestone at our farm that will no-sell this kind of shenanigans again.

Where is Jerasmus anyway?

No defense is perfect, so no-sell is probably an exaggeration, but I have crafting runic defenses tentatively penciled in as one of our actions in the upcoming turn, yes (along with telling, y'know, everyone we can about real cultivation). I thought the number of guards we were leaving combined with Steinarr being nearby made that not a super urgent matter, but I was apparently mistaken.

We need to start thinking through the wording on those defenses.

Probably out wandering. As is his wont. He may even have left the valley once he finished teaching us the bible.

'I retained a scrap of odr from my awakening and was waiting for the right moment to use it when the unlatching Gate forced my hand. I do not understand what happened, the only thing I can liken it to was when we found an Alteration.'
Hey, Blackhand - it seems like you've saved us from some really ugly situations with those scraps of odr. Now that we have more than just scraps, coudl we just... give you some? Just in case?

edit: well. This, I had not expected. What the hell? "I went for a romantic walk in the woods with my husband, and two of my closest friends died."

Probably stuff it full of Odr and Orthsirr and well.

Phrasing, probably revolve around taming the earth to the farm as the first layer effect, then as a second layer as an anti-curse effect, and third would be a 'protect inhabitants of the farm'. By layer I mean that someone trying to decipher it would first figure out the first effect, then second, then third. Since the more secret and well hidden, the more powerful.

What the hell? A straight up "15% chance rolled on everyone, if you roll below it you die, no save" What the hell was this? Why didn't they just drop it while Halla and Abjorn were present if it was that powerful and that strong an AoE?
My best guess is that whatever it is is something that Halla could stop if she was present. That, or the Enemy wasn't able to use it while we were present, sorta like how it's Fate Alteration ability has limits.

Thus far more than 1 Orthstirr per crafting project is of dubious utility, but we'll definitely put in the one and as much Orthstirr as will fit.

Sounds good, but we need to figure out how to say that out-of-character to do it.

'I... actually don't know. This is a new experience for me. Any experimentation should be done with the upmost caution as I would rather not die.'
Im going to be super busy today, @Imperial Fister can you give all my reward dice to DeadmanwalkingXI?
You got it!

Deadman, you got that?

Have we tried seeing if Blackhand can manifest himself in Halla's soul realm?

By the way, Blackhand, is there a good approach to learning about Odr and True Cultivation? Since there's like a ton of.. well, ways to cripple yourself. Or die.

For the Worm (Sirrocco)
Foul worm with dirty teeth
Gnawing roots and corpses
Gnawed by fimafung's bane
Hates only its betters
Hates everyone that lives.

Sad to live so despised
but cheer up little worm
just follow Jormungandr
your gnawing will earn praise

I... think I did this right? Mostly?

If it's worth anything, I'll offer the resulting die to whichever of DeadmanwalkingXI or Alectai speaks for it first, for use in the current situation.

It's basically a poem about Nidhoggr that first insults him repeatedly, and then encourages him to chew himself to death.

Title: For the Worm.

@Imperial Fister this whole situation has made me realize I have no idea what the average Hamingja score is. Can you tell us what that is?

We started with, like, 3, and it averaging around the same as other stats would make some sense, but we don't actually know that.

Update: All non-combattants are as reasonably safe as we can muster. We can close that hole to be absolutely safe, but realistically speaking, if we roll a nat 1-3 or so, you're probably fucked regardless. Those points are better spent shoring up those who are still in Grave Danger.

Gabriel has also entered the field of Reasonably Safe--I don't know how his own Luck score works but he's got a net +10 from Reward Dice, so he should be okay.

Tryggr, Stigr, and Kurt are still in Grave Danger! Stigr and Tryggr probably have decent Hamingja--the former especially--but Kurt in particular seems downright fucked without a bit more rigging.

Currently, of the initial batch of Reserve Reward Dice, Omegahugger and Mastigos have not yet weighed in as of the making of this post. But that's as many as 2 more Reward Dice on the table. Plus or Minus any more poetry or other omake that gets submitted between now and the Lockdown.

Let us bring low the Enemy's plot together!

Oh yeah, @Imperial Fister , are you above bald faced bribery?

Doesn't really matter if you are or not because I did it anyway. I'm having enough Fun from this that it's worth the price.
