Well, here's a tentative plan. Subject to improvements if people have any in mind.

[X] Plan Whoops Again
-[X] Stoke Saemd (+40 Orthstirr)
-[X] Tap into Sagaseeker's Orthstirr as necessary
-[X] Dedicate any we kill in melee to Sagaseeker
-[X] 34d6 Attack (all tricks)
-[X] 10d6 Defense (all tricks)
-[X] 10d6 Intercept (all tricks)
-[X] Grab Abjorn and use Ember-Wing Cloak to leap over to a fair distance behind them with a clear line of sight and attack...the hill is preferable if it provides those (-12 Orthstirr)
-[X] Take the opportunity of being at range again to launch a 25d6+1 (w/Hugareida) Kindle Spinner using 5 Orthstirr for extra dice and 2 Odr for extra damage (-7 Orthstirr, -2 Odr), then make a total of two 10d6+1 Honed x2 Skewer-Flick attacks using Orthstirr to add Lightning Damage (-7 Orthstirr each) if they manage close with us
-[X] If we have time after the Kindle Spinner and before they get to us, put up as much Reinforce Shield as we can up to 10 layers (up to -5 Orthstirr)
-[X] Let Reinforce Shield tank attacks for as long as it lasts. In response to any attack against Abjorn (or us once Reinforce Shield is down) use Halting Vortex (-4 Orthstirr each). If we try to use Halting Vortex but an attack penetrates it, use a 14d6+5 Reinforced x4 Sway (-6 Orthstirr). If the Halting Vortexes aren't working and Abjorn is attacked defend him with a 15d6+1 Honed Reinforced x4 Hefty-Halter Chop (-8 Orthstirr). If Abjorn goes down use Stabilizing Palm on him (-12 Orthstirr).
-[X] Tactics – Leap immediately to somewhere behind them with a good line of fire on them to avoid whatever they're trying to do with the water, then hit the remaining group with a big Kindle-Spinner. If they survive, prepare to engage them in melee.
Maybe dedicate a kill each (if it comes to it) to our other equipment whose making involved Odr?
(Mail and sax)

[X] Plan Whoops Again

This is a good question. I'd be willing to free up a couple of dice to force an abort or tanking the hit...maybe we should do that either way, with an Explosive Charm and Chuck if this doesn't work...
We have qm confirmation & shortened vote time, if you want to make the change there are 20 min til close.

Would armor even want kills dedicated to it? That seems wrong. It'd want something dedicated to it, but kills seem off to me.

Added. It may not do much, but it's worth a shot and should provide a distraction while we leave anyway.

Huh.
Does that count being able to do the kill because the armor protects us/protected us?
(Surviving due to the armors temp hp)
That's exactly what I mean, yes.

Hopefully this sorts the fight out, they're mostly hurting pretty bad and I think they're starting to flag?

Random note I just thought I'd mention: Avow seemingly ignores damage reduction. Or at least that of the foemen. That makes sense, but I'm not sure if we'd seen proof as of yet before this.

Which happens first; EWC or Lobbed Kindle Spinner?

At the moment, I'm thinking that the Kindle Spinner happens first, but maybe I'm wrong?

The intent is we lob the Kindle Spinner but don't even stick around to see if it hits, just grab Abjorn and go while they're still deciding what to do about it as soon as it leaves our hand.

The first Kindle Spinner is intended as a distraction and disruption rather than a serious attack for the most part (though we'd be happy enough if they got hit or wasted resources dodging it, of course).

Yeah, I think that was the idea, toss it to interrupt them and then fuck off while they're reacting.

A crown of iron spikes grows on your head as Abjorn eyes you, a small frown on his face. His brows crease in concern as he turns. "Halla, are you okay?"

You look from him and his bleeding wounds to yourself — where no wounds are to be seen. "I'm fine?"

"You've got more orthstirr than I do, yet you've already stoked all of your Aspects... Is there anything wrong? Anything I can do to help?"

"I..." you love him, but... "this isn't the place for this, please."

He nods. "Alright."

With that topic settled, you re-focus in on the fight.

Cupping a hand at your side, you call upon your soul's fire and whip it into a spinning frenzy. The ball of densely packed flames whirls in place as you eye the Foeman across the river.

A grin slides up the side of your face as you toss it overhand at the Foeman.

He eyes it, his gaze lacking fear as he prepares to die.

The only question is... which happens first?

The Kindle Spinner?

Or whatever it is he's doing?

Regardless, it's not your problem as you grab Abjorn and shoot off into the air once more — hopefully for the last time.

The Foemen watch as you hurtle through the air, first looking where you're going before they start to follow. When they realize that you're heading behind them, they start moving to intercept.
(Kindle Spinner: 11 vs ???: 26, Kindle Spinner hits, but... )
You hit the tree line as Kindle Spinner explodes, engulfing the Foeman in fiery death. There's nothing left of him but a blackened skeleton, but as you hit the ground, it starts to shake.

Confusion mixed with shock flashes across your mind as you try to keep yourself steady. What's happening? Did the Foeman make an earthquake?

Whatever it is, it seems to be taking its sweet time getting here.

The Foemen draw closer at a too-fast pace, dashing that train of thought from your mind as another ball of fire forms in your palm.

Stepping forward, you bend down and roll the Kindle Spinner with all your might.
(Trick Attack: 103+1=104 vs Quintuple-Point Defense #1: 100, #2: 95, Attacker Wins All! 5-1=4 Damage!)
The Foemen try to dodge, but not even they are fast enough to dodge an odr-enhanced Kindle Spinner.

It races across the ground, bouncing as it goes, and burns a trail of fire-scorched dirt and grass in its wake. Crimson flames lick at the air as it hits between the two Foemen.

The explosion devours them both, killing one instantly while catapulting the other to land face-up next to you.

It wheezes out a coughing laugh as you approach. The ground having stopped shaking after the other Foeman died.

"What's so funny, dead man?" You ask the Foeman as he keeps laughing — the entire lower half of his body gone.

"Distraction." His voice is... strange. It's like he's got a raspy Danish accent. But before you can question him, his eyes glaze over as his body enters shock. He'll be dead soon.

"Distraction?" You ask to nobody as you turn to Abjorn. "What's he talking abo-"

A clap of thunder in clear skies cuts you off as a plume of smoke rises in the distance, easily visible over the tree line.

Your heart sinks as you know, deep down, where that smoke's coming from.

You share a terrified glance with Abjorn before racing off in the direction of your home.

(+18 Orthstirr to you, +3 to Sagaseeker)

AN: There's no real vote here, this is just an opportunity to spend Reward Dice to influence the events that have been going down at your house. This will last for the normal voting period, perhaps longer if more time is needed.

I will be rolling a d100 for every person who lives on your farm. If I roll less than 15, they are dead. In this instance, Reward Dice count as a guaranteed +5 to a roll. It requires 3 Reward Dice to guarantee someone's survival.

Stigmar
Stigr
Tryggr
Trausti
Gabriel
Kurt Frogtongue
Haydis Yrlingasdottir
Hallotta Kurtsdottir
Asgeirr
Sigurdr
Eyvor
Hallbjorn
jy3 has 3d6 Reward Dice
Omegahugger has 1d6 Reward Dice
Franco Asuriano has 1d6 Reward Dice
Drieder has 2d6 Reward Dice
DeadmanwalkingXI has 2d6 Reward Dice, one of which replenishes yearly
Shard has 3d6 Reward Dice
Exmorri has 1d6 Reward Dice
mastigos has 1d6 Reward Dice
Alectai has 1d6 Reward Dice

I will say that this turn's plan was very good. You near completely out-planned them.

Shame about, well, you know.

FUCKIN ENEMY!

What the hell? A straight up "15% chance rolled on everyone, if you roll below it you die, no save" What the hell was this? Why didn't they just drop it while Halla and Abjorn were present if it was that powerful and that strong an AoE?

Anyway, my Reward Dice is rigging for Sigurdr, he's our anointed heir and all. This is the time we've hoarded Reward Dice for

Fuck.

Did they somehow revive ol' Sparky? Or just straight up strike our farm with a thunderbolt/explosion?

Well, shit.

I'm definitely spending my Reward Dice on making sure the kids survive (as best I can). I'll add one each to Sigurdr and Eyvor to start with, though if someone else invests a bunch in one of those two I might be convinced to move dice.

I will say that it seems like Hamingja should also help people survive this? I guess everyone might have pretty similar Hamingja aside from Stigr, but it seems like he should get a boost to his odds of survival for the whole 'extreme luck' thing. The kids technically have that as well, but they haven't had time to actually pile up Hamingja with it yet.

Well, this shores up the Eaters of the Dead/13th Warrior Grendol/Neanderthal connection, since Grendel was in Denmark. Also, the Foemen speak. Good to know for the future.

As for what happened at the house... meteor strike?

Actually reviving Sparky? That would be... I mean, it's doable, but it's also insanely nid attacking a Farm and murdering literal babies while the one you have an actual quarrel with isn't even there.

I mean, it's not impossible The Enemy just cut him a deal exempting him from the consequences of it while reviving him just to spite us, but that should be a hellishly expensive endeavor for something that only is out of spite. If they wanted to kill Halla, they just needed to drop him on her.

Like, there's spite, and there's counterproductive spite that works against even your own interests. This seems to firmly fall in the latter half. If they had this firepower, why didn't they spend it on Halla?

Doubly so as we're close enough that Steinarr is going to be right there in literal seconds and any force that attacked is going to get stackwiped unless they've got someone who could check Steinarr.

The alternative of course is that it's just a sudden magma eruption underneath our farm, which is... Well, again, you're pushing the "Insanely expensive investment for limited gains" angle again there.

That's fair, I'll take that into consideration as well.

Fair enough. I personally don't think it's Sparky now that I really think about it. From what I can tell, it was an explosion? Medieval C4? Fuck, I wonder how they were able to pull that off.

Wait, I can't tell - is this distraction related to the earthquake thing, of is it something unrelated?
