I guess it does get a little boring when there is only one plan maker that lambasts anyone that attempts to make their own plan.
I mean as far as i am aware the difference between the 2 plans is that one fished for training dice with the 2 visit actions and the other crafted and visited stig, id prefer crafting and and a fun character action tbh. stig isnt my first choice but its not a bad choice

Needing to buy food is an embarassment because it meant you couldn't provide for yourselves.

Raiding is something you do on the side when your livelihood is secure, not a replacement for it.
That's... not true?

Like, the last time Steinarr went raiding, it was explicitly because he had to pay wergild, and the farm wasn't enough to provide for it. "go raiding" is one of the classic Viking responses to the farm not doing so well in general.

I mean, I don't know about the "needing to buy food is an embarrassment" thing specifically. That's possible, I suppose. @Imperial Fister - is purchasing food shameful as a viking?

I admit, I do want the farm to thrive, but I kind of want it to be a secondary thing. You know - "raider who farms" rather than "farmer who raids".

At the same time... okay, yeah, the fact that raiding cripples our training dice for the turn isn't great. So maybe not go raiding too much.

if we are both raiding maybe we shouldn't seed a field or make a scythe? the field wot be maintained since we are both gone and itll be winter when we come back so we cant farm we need to make more changes to the current plan

I never did get an answer from Fister on how often we have to roll for kids. Like if it is a concern for every turn or not after being married.

@Imperial Fister could we, uh, buy Gabriel from Steinarr? The subject of purchasing people is pretty uncomfortable, but we could use someone to help on the farm and it would make it easier to progress our relationship.

I've been busy, anyone have any thoughts on the Steel mythic history?

Hmm we should no do the 1d6 method this turn and focus on finishing as many things as we can for the raid.

On average, most of those changes don't actually mean we increase the skill much more. Like, the odds of 2d6 increasing a skill from 1 to 2 are 4/9 rather than the 3/9 you get from 1d6 (meaning the increase in Management is minimal). Lots of stuff like that.

They'll still increase the things you put more dice into, obviously, but they won't be super likely to actually get any more dice before the raid in most cases (2d6 in Farmwork is mathematically relevant as is 4d6 in Fiirebomb Strike, but I think that's it...4d6 in Magnify Sight would be if we got something at 3 successes, but it says we only get anything at 9, so it probably isn't).

Though, actually, upon reflection, those two changes are a good idea and I'm adjusting my plan to 4d6 in Firebomb Strike and 2d6 Farmwork.

EDIT: And done. Lost 1d6 in Reinforce Shield, which sucks, but needs must.

Oh boy, lots of questions :D
@Imperial Fister - is purchasing food shameful as a viking?
Well, it's certainly not preferred. It does sort of depend on what's going on, I feel. Did you fuck up your farming or is there a crazy famine going on?
@Imperial Fister - do we get management dice next turn?
You do when you get back from raiding. You get to choose how long to raid.
@Imperial Fister could we, uh, buy Gabriel from Steinarr?
You absolutely could, at a solid discount at that. Slaving is lame (understatement of the year, I know), but it's something that happened and shouldn't be ignored.

Norse women had, on average, roughly 7 kids over the span of their life. 1 every 2 years, typically.

So yes, you do have to worry about it unless you're pregnant or 'on cooldown'.

Hmm so yeah always a risk of Halla getting pregnant this upcoming turn or in the middle of raiding season. Well can't change that lol.

Freaking nine kids. It'll be amazing if Halla can fight after that many.

Wouldn't owning him be bad for well friendship purposes. Then again if we do own him that does mean technically we could order him to help us with the meteor.

I mean as far as friendship goes I'm not sure being his owner's daughter is better. At least this way we could see him regularly.
You could also free him after buying him.

Now, he doesn't exactly have very many places to go, seeing as he's in Norway, but you could do it.

edit: lmao, ninja'd in my own thread :p

thoughts about swapping crafting scythe out for something else? if we raid until winter it wont av much purpose for a few turns
...and, likewise, if we raid until winter then management dice spent on the fields are going to be kind of wasted.

If anything, I think we maybe want to plan to raid until winter. If nothing else, it'd provide a rock-slid excuse for why we're buying food. "Well, the two of us just got so excited what with styling on the English."
I mean, we need to make it on a turn before we need it. That's probably this turn unless we try and make it while we're out raiding.
If we stop raiding some time in winter, then we have all winter to spool up our farming stuff.
