IIRC you can only add that base attack dice to normal attacks absent special rules.

Right, but Stoker State has such special rules. Other Styles also having them is very possible.

Of course Steinarr could have been doing uneven Sharpens or somesuch.

Technically possible, but I doubt it.

I currently only have 1 die to add.
The other one was added to Akis Kolla roll.

Ah! Thank you for the clarification, I was going by the Reward Dice post which hasn't deducted that yet. I'll fix that immediately. EDIT: And fixed.

Actually, dice can be both singular and plural, though die is always singular

Huh. I have always heard it as exclusively plural. A quick internet search shows that while many people have the same experience as me in that regard, that's far from universal and there's quite a divide on the topic, which given how language works means that 'dice' as singular is also correct. Learn something new every day.

Out of curiosity Imperial Fister, can we ask what's the requirement to learn Fang? And if Glima is based on the cultural love of wrestling what is Fang based on? The same thing?

Glima 7 allows one to pick up Fang for free, but you can just learn Fang on its own. Glima is most often taught instead of Fang because Glima is also used for sporting while Fang is not and you don't exactly want to kill your competitors in a friendly bout—at least, not if you can help it.

So, in that case, could Abjorn teach us Fang? How would that work?

Likewise, what does getting it at Glima 7 'for free' entail? Just a free level or what?

Hmm, how did Abjorn learn it then? Grinded Glima up to 7 or did Torsten teach him while he was here. Did someone show up at his house one day when he grinded it up to Glima 7 to induct him into it. I think you don't have to do a trial to get Fang if you have Glima 7.

He does have Glima 7, so he probably got it that way (though Torsten may have helped him raise it afterward). Barring info we don't have there's not a lot of incentive to go from Glima 6 to Glima 7 rather than Fang 4 to Fang 6, which is both cheaper and better.

Hmm, I wonder if getting a combat skill 7 means that's the main way people gain access to styles.

That's an interesting theory, but not one we have a lot of support for.

Hmmm. If that's true, then going from, say, a 4 to a 7 in a combat skill, which is 112 successes, and then 0 to, say, 4 in the Style it unlocks (another 15) would get you 15 Combat Pool dice plus whatever bonus that Style granted for 127 successes total, making it a better deal than going for styles over level 5 (which is 96 Successes for 6 Combat Pool dice for levels 6 and 7), at least in terms of dice alone. Interesting.

Also has Halla ever wrestled openly besides that competition and the raid trials? Mostly we used Sagaseeker to deal big hits and stayed at ranged with our ignition tricks. That said Fang would combo well, with the ignition tricks that we do have.

Using a glima move to end our fights is different than using Glima itself to win fights. Since we usually put people in our IAT before using a glima move rather than us wrestling them into submission to use our glima tricks.

That was beautiful, thank you, Fister!
You scowl and shake your fist at him—though neither have any heat. "Nice effort, o husband mine, but you'll have to try harder than that to knock me off my game!"

Abjorn mutters something about 'knocking' and offers a shrugs, "Worth a shot."
Abjorn has seen where this is going and made all he could to avoid his fate... alas, with no ext in sight he has accepted it.
The ground dents inwards as he launches himself at great speeds. His fist draws back as his rust-red orthstirr trails off his knuckles. Your eyes widen as it tickles your memories. Just where have you seen this move before?
...See? messing with his footing would have been nice.
And then cracks spiderweb up and down the atgeir's length as an all too familiar sound echoes across the field and your soul alike. The taste of mutton dances across your lips as your weapon shatters before your very eyes—just like that tree did, all those years ago.
Ah, that's really neat of him.
