It'll upgrade next turn I think. Afterwards, we've firmly hit the point of Diminishing Returns.

Should we upgrade our rune skill, if we're going to continue to craft our rune equipment?

The skill for Runes is Artcraft, which hits level 5 this very turn, tying our other highest skills. Getting a skill to 6 is on the agenda, but not for a little bit while we focus on our base stats (we can get Hamr 8, Hugr 8, Fylgja 7 within the next year or so if we push it).

Looking at it, Glima has been officially moved to the Martial Styles section including +3d6 to combat pool per level...that makes Glima 4 a lot more appealing, and I don't think we need Heat Hold at above Rough right now, so I'm ditching Heat Hold and adding 1d to advancing Glima.

If we are gonna try for a baby, should we learn a Fertility ritual spell from the Seeress and use it?

I mean, we're rolling 17d6 (or more if Abjorn's Hamr has gone up in the last couple of years) hoping for 10+ successes. We really don't need the help.

We could try and ensure twins or something like that, but I don't think that's super urgent to be honest.

No problem.

Actually, related to the Forgefire thing, this means we didn't get quite enough dice on the crafting last turn. By my math we should've had 20 dice on the Housecraft rolls to make the items and we only seem to have gotten 17 on one and 18 on the other.

Also, this isn't an error more of a question but wouldn't Forgefire also help runework on metal? It definitely didn't get added at all this turn, but it seems like it would? It obviously wouldn't help runework on, like wood or stone, but if you're forging runes into the metal wouldn't it help?
Good points, I'll factor those in for the future
Are we gonna choose what traits Abjorn picks or are you gonna decide that @Imperial Fister?
I decide, but you get to know what they are. That's how I'm planning on doing it, but if you folks don't like that then we can just have you pick

If she had a ritual for strong/healthy babies on the other hand...

Twins also means we have to split our rigging dice.
Only advantage: Getting through our alloted 9 births in fewer pregnancies/quicker.

You picking for Abjorn sounds fair.
In case of him being unsure maybe we could vote which of his favored options to take.

@Shard has 9d6 Reward Dice (1d6 held as overflow)
Should be 2 less, since I used one each on the runework results.

Right, more specifically:

1) When you use Seidr to open someone's gate as part of healing them (ex: Stabilizing Hand), is it part of the spell to close the gate immediately after, or does the gate simply 'close by itself'?
2) For spells like Time Heals All Wounds, is the person's Gate constantly open and you manage their Odr, or is the healing effect entirely mediated by your Orthsirr?
a) With Gabriel specifically, did you open his Gate, then supplied your Odr through his Gate, or did you provide your Odr in a way to entirely bypass the 'Open the Gate' mechanism/requirement?
3) Does Eyetalking involve The Gate at all?

You haven't really done a whole lot of poetry since then, I don't think

We did teach Drifa poetry, which surely must have involved us doing Poetry ourselves. The Runework this turn also involved poetry as well.

(Ornate Silver Drinking Horn added to inventory. +1 success to Hamr training rolls. The bone ash grants men who drink from it a free trait pick during conception)

Maybe make this + (Hamr) successes? Would make the scaling less punishing until you get to higher levels, and actually make it quite a useful item for "Steady Ranks Ups" kinda training, whilst the "double dice" items are good if you're throwing a lot of dice at a Stat to train it quickly. Happy to spend reward dice here if it helps.

Also, two quick questions if that's okay:

(1) I asked about this before, can I confirm/lock in with reward dice if possible that this inscription:
"I have the soul of a warrior, my spirit forever sharpens for battle without dimming."
Would allow us to replicate Crowfeeder's "can be sharpened indefinitely" effect and potentially shoot for a better/extra one? Because I remember Halla thought she could improve on or strengthen Crowfeeder's runes when she ssaw them.

(2) If during the reforging of Sagaseeker we modified it so that its blade profile would be that of a short sword (which I'm guessing it's pretty close to already), so that one of our descendants could re-hilt it as a sword if the haft got broken/they found it buried with our corpse in a pile of rubble/etc., would this modification or the subsequent rehilting cause any issues?

My assumption is that Atgeirs are already sword-spears by nature so this is negligible, but I wanted to confirm before I begin poking Deadman to put it in his plan.

Going by the pictures, which I'm not sure are canon or not, Sagaseeker is more axe like in profile rather than glaive like.

Oh right! We actually have Socket Stones as well. We should probably add one of those to Sagaseeker. Anyone have any runework in mind for that? There's also the potential of adding runes to the haft itself.

I dunno if we can do all that as part of one action, though. @Imperial Fister, in addition to Skippy's questions above (which are relevant), how many runes can we actually do as part of the action to reforge Sagaseeker?

If you have a target effect I could try and throw something together. Currently I think we have +1 Combat Speed and are adding Infinite Sharpen.

Yup, those are the current options. I actually have a wording set up for enhanced strength if nobody comes up with anything else and we actually can just load up on these, though that was originally intended for an arm-ring...

And no, I don't have a specific effect in mind, that's sorta what I was intending to ask about. What effect do we want?

Hey, @DeadmanwalkingXI instead of giving Odr to hearthroot? Should we instead use our Odr on our sealwood tree? To see if we can get a branch to use as the shaft of a realized Sagaseeker.

I think the odds of 18 being enough to actually hit the next level are real low, and even if it did I'm skeptical it would be in time...we could maybe do this later, especially if there's a limit to how many different sets of runework we can actually put on as part of one action (ie: replacing the shaft and runing it up as a separate action later seems plausible).

Also bear in mind that a branch of sealwood would not inherently channel Standstill according to IF, so we need to do more than just have the branch for it to have the effect we want.

Maybe try to make it boost the lightning aspect for more lightning damage/stab out super fast/look like a lightning bolt (style points)? Its already got the electric damage and some speed boost, maybe we could try to give it more speed or a blast or something.

"I strike as Sky-Flame, [something something something]"

"I strike as Sky-Flame, none but the Highest Ones shall slow me."
I strike as lightning, no-one but the Aesir shall slow my path

I can't think of/find a good kenning for the Aesir, or a good ending at all really.

A freedom of movement type effect (if probably not as all encompassing) sounds great, yeah. We'd probably put that on the blade for the thematic synergy with the speed rune, and put Crowfeeder's runes on the Socket Stone if we went with that.
