Not Ironjaw, I was of the impression Kolla was that other Steelfather's daughter? The one who Ironjaw ganked?

No, she's Ironjaw's very explicitly. Solrun stated it outright...she was worried that people would seek reprisals against Ironjaw for said ganking through Kolla. We might need to ask Solrun if we can tell dad about Kolla's parentage...he'd provide some additional security.

Huh, well then.

Either way, I think they might be a cute couple! I hope the chemistry works out.

Aki winding up as Ironjaw's son-in-law would also be wild. He'd need to get a lot more badass to handle that role, but we can help him with that, no doubt.
Can you imagine Ironjaws reaction when he visits and sees that his little blind daughter is in love with an equally little blind guy? And then when he finds out that said guys best friend is the granddaughter of his buddy Blackhand/daughter of his pupil Steinarr?

Honestly, just apparently jailbreaking Aki's Hamr score is probably going to have some Interesting effects in the long run. Senses after all are tied to Hamr, and jailbreaking it might mean he manages to supercharge his other senses to compensate for his blindness.

Which might be why it's a pain in the ass for him to be raising Hamr in the first place. Because the rewards of overcoming that handicap will be significant. He's had the desire most certainly, what we just did was give him the ability to make genuine headway.

Yeah, this was a large part of my pitch for raising his Hamr being such a good gift...I'll bet you can get echolocation as a Hamr Trick, Shapeshift, or both, for example. Being blind sucks for someone like Aki who wants to be a warrior, but if you manage to hit Hamr 7 I'm pretty sure it sucks a whole lot less.

Fucking hell, I can even see how it might work.

"You are limited to (Hamr) dice in training your Hamr score, and your first two successes are removed." Functionally, this means that he can never actually increase his Hamr score because the highest he can get training it is 2 successes (Which are eaten by the penalty)

Which means he's stuck at Hamr 1 for his life... Until he gets the Halla SL 10 benefit and she makes him a magic drinking horn that guarantees a minimum of one success on Hamr Training, sidestepping the penalty and finally letting him start training the Hamr Stat

Power Requires Sacrifice. Imagine what rewards are on the table for someone who manages to break through a penalty like that?

If Bram Ironjaw fostered Steinarr after Blaclhand died, does that mean he's Steinarr's foster-father, and by extension our foster-grandfather?

I'm pretty sure Kolla isn't blind.
Rereading, yeah i misremembered, she is just weird like Aki, but not blind.
She seems a bit odd, like she's not really looking at you but more through you. It reminds you of Aki's gaze, but this little girl isn't blind. Far from it, if those big eyes of hers drinking in every minute detail are anything to go off of.

Also maybe he finds a different way more interesting, like Seer training. Or even a mix of Fylgja based warrior and Seer. (granted, rest of societ is rather stupid about male Seers)

But breaking through on Hamr will probably be good for him either way.

This is a very good question. @Imperial Fister what does it do, and how would it improve at Refined?
It makes food taste better, depending on the individual, so when you have a meal with someone you increase your Relations with them by 1. Higher grades adds in a chance to earn more

If he actually did foster Steinarr, yes. He didn't, though, he just took him under his wing for a couple years.

What? Improved relationships are very helpful. We should be refinining that.

Improved Relationships are great but who exactly are we spending an action to cook for in the next little while?

Though I am assuming we don't get it for everyone we cook for sort of incidentally during the course of the turn. @Imperial Fister we don't get relationship ups with everyone who lives with us just for having the Trick, do we?

Improving heat hold, probably improves the quenching of a blade. We could improve our quenching process quite a bit with the ice clay and the heat hold trick.

What about Heat Hold? What does that actually do in terms of crafting stuff?
You can 'pause' your work mid-project. So, if, say, you had a thing you wanted to build but didn't have all the materials or, for whatever reason, you didn't want to complete it right away, you can keep what progress and quality you've made while going back again later to add on and improve

You do not. That would be insane

Gotcha. How would it being Refined improve this?

I figured. Just making sure.

On another subject entirely: @Imperial Fister standard character sheet error roundup (both minor as usual):

1. Forgefire should be Grade IV (5 for Ignition + 3 for Campfire = 8 which divided by 2 equals 4)
2. The Food Supply never got corrected for last turn. We should only have 4 Food in storage, sadly...our Food expenses are 3 higher than listed due to the ongoing Trade Deal (which should probably be added for ease of use) and we were also only charged 14 even though it was Winter which has a listed charge of 19.

Reduces cost. You don't get the orthstirr you spent on the Heat Hold back until you finish the project.

Thank you

No problem.

Actually, related to the Forgefire thing, this means we didn't get quite enough dice on the crafting last turn. By my math we should've had 20 dice on the Housecraft rolls to make the items and we only seem to have gotten 17 on one and 18 on the other.

Also, this isn't an error more of a question but wouldn't Forgefire also help runework on metal? It definitely didn't get added at all this turn, but it seems like it would? It obviously wouldn't help runework on, like wood or stone, but if you're forging runes into the metal wouldn't it help?
