the moonlight saber would emit a gastly hum, some people say they can hear voice's in the sound
Sounds appropriate.

I wonder how our Abyss Walkers compare to a Jedi now?

I mean we've got all our bases covered (ranged Blazing Chains, Stealth Burred presence Melee Makutai) and obviously we'd prefer they not engage at all, but if it comes down to it.

Indeed while I'm on the topic how skilled are tier 3 troops compared to say tier 2?

tier 3 is knight level i think, or low knight level.then again the abyss watcher vs jedi knight would be one big game of hide and seek, the knight is a better swordsmen, but the watcher has a bunch of neat tricks to deal with that.

I really want that anti-force martial art now- that combined with Matukai makes our agents fairly dedicated counters to Force Users in general.

Buried Presence to get close, Blazing Chains for surprise or for ranged, Matukai+AFMA to counteract their superior skill with a light saber.

Abyss Walkers and Jedi Knights are roughly equivalent but have their own specialities, strengths and weaknesses.

The Jedi is likely to be the superior swordsman barring exceptions of course, however the Walker is probably better infiltration/sneaking, the Jedi the better diplomat and the Walker better able to bring a building down.

On a battlefield or mutual surprise I'd expect the Jedi win most times, albeit with a fight on his hands but I'd give the Walker the win in an Urban warzone or if given any opportunity to prep.

Jedi Sentinels or Sith Assassins would be a close comparison.

EDIT: Although equally terrifying for non-Force sensitives to face.

Hmm... Lemme think of what that means. Depending on how the 'reveal' or so goes, they might think "wait... Why is all those niché force sects banding together?" Especially when it comes revelations on silver/grey/pure white lightsabers.

What'd be more funny is before they'd even spot a possible 'Sith?' Alert, they'd be possibly blind to some of our other Force techniques. At least, until they see Lightsaber, and best case scenario, their dogmatic mentality of Light/Dark says "wait, they're light? ... Though why are they no Jedi part of the Order?"

Thus, they'd be further questions, and depending on context like say, a delicate Maul debacle. They might be shock, or horrified over some 'shady' order, that's against all odds somehow got a 'redeaming' angle to it, potentially even tempting Sith to the Light Side of the force, and winning with this talk on 'we got Interest'.

... Now, I don't think we'd sanely even be able to pull that off, bar Crit escalation. And if that happened, on making the Baddies, goodies (except Sheev.)... That's probably, going to maybe add some 'light' to Yoda's vision/worry on his future sight being 'clouded' by the Dark Side...

... Oh great, now I'm imagining Ciaren, in her efforts to solidify a potential counter dealing with Sidious's plotting, accidentally ends up getting her recruition form for Anakin spotted by Obi-Wan, him feeling oh no when it comes to a possible Darth Vader/Fallen Jedi sort of situation... And ends up being more ???? over Silver Lightsabers, mental comparison to Silver Cross, and all those previous trollings...

... And figuring that Ciaren, might be the most dangerous Force User of them all, without anyone noticing. Something which might give Sidious/Palpatine a bit of a shudder, over possible underestimating of Ciaren, which depending on how things pan out, may not happen for long...

Pretty sure they meant "how do they compare to a Jedi" as "How good are they in a fight and with using the Force compared to a Jedi", not what the Jedi would think of them.

You know given the amount of force traditions the Abyss Watchers has assimilated it wouldn't surprise me that the Abyss Watchers on average have a higher lore stat than the Jedi.

well i mean, i wouldnt be surprised if ciaran forced them to learn all about the lore related objects, if only so they dont touch a sith super virus, or know what holocron to steal

The Jedi are big, old and have the advantage of millennia of experience and a structured education, the Walker's advantage is always going to be unorthodox methods rather than pure power and skill with the Force.

It would be interesting to see a conversation between a Jedi and one of our Abyss Watchers about the force, you know once they get revealed. Given our relationship with the Jedi Shadows this conversation could very much happen.

Yeah, we have two real advantages for our little force sect-

Unorthodoxy, and the fact we're deliberately engineering the development of our sect for specific kinds of effectiveness at say- saboteuring and infiltration. The Jedi have the benefit of a lot of tradition and knowledge backing them up, but they're ultimately a monk order that considers being a peacekeeper and diplomat ideal professions to strive for.

The Abyss Walkers... are probably less monastic order and more a skilled and specialized quasi-cult if you factor in whatever shared ideology the AW are developing. We benefit from being a lot more deliberate and focused in the training and methods we teach our agents, because ultimately- these agents are given this training to serve Ciaran's interests, not to enlighten themselves or aspire towards some grandiose ideal.

we need to get Ciaran some power armor with cortosis weave
We should go investigate the Jensaarai then given they create suits of armor using cortosis weave for their equivalent of Jedi Knight rank. Also as a suggestion for a force power to go after next would be Combustion or Flamusfracta which allows the person using it to explode something using sheer force of will.

i wonder what the abyss walker belief is like now, especially with the walkers getting a vision of the literal abyss that might be their boss but might not be

I just realized there is Jedi on the high council that would get along with Ciaran a lot due to their mutual love of trolling Jedi, Yarael Poof.
