So, while neither here nor there, technically, as a sort of "local color", I've been watching the 2008 (3D) The Clone Wars cartoon.
Mid-season 1 is positively abysmal. Between the Lurmen (who are demonstrated to be okay with non-lethal non-violent means of winning conflicts--binding those who would do you harm is within their code but apparently doing that to droids who will slay you isn't?) and then the Pantora / Talz thing (You'd think the Jedi would have the authority to refuse troop support to a clear Warhawk after they'd successfully negotiated peace, or at least tell C3PO to not translate the guy's aggressive rhetoric.)

Can people who've watched more tell me if it gets better?

It gets better, in any case there are lots of bad episodes even in the good seasons, I suggest you to follow this guide (watch also the honorable mentions)

Some things I'd like to point out;

1) The guide neglects to include Bombad Jedi in the Nute Gunray Arc, despite the fact that that's the episode in which he is captured in the first place.
2) The guide also neglects to include (or even give honorable mention to) Dooku Captured, which introduces Hondo Ohnaka (probably not spelling that right), who is to comedy what Cad Bane is to awesome (while also having some awesome moments himself).
3) Hostage Crisis wasn't part of one of Sidious's plots. Cad Bane was working for the Hutts that time. Likewise, the Holocron Heist Arc was an unrelated incident (and I think it took place before Hostage Crisis).
4) I fail to see how the Mortis Arc was a "'What If' collection of the future paths Anakin, Ahsoka and Ob-Wan might follow".
5) The guide forgot to include Season 6.

I know it is not perfect by any means, but it a decent guideline
 
As an added note, at the end of the Maul Arc in Season 5 you'll come upon a very familiar scene.

    As penance, to get some activity in this thread, and honestly because I've been wanting to do this ever since I thought of it, it's time for:

    And I'd respond that you're being way too much of a suck-up and you're clearly trying to stroke my ego, lay off that a bit man. But also that this time I'm upping the ante. We're going a step further with:

    That's right, why bother with my boring, informational responses to your questions when you can hear it straight from the lunatics and misfits that make up the Abyss Watchers! Complete with their personal biases (and in Ciaran's case, almost certain lies and misinformation).

    There's gonna be some ground rules though:

    -Do not talk about the Q&A session
    -Do not talk about the Q&A session
    -Yes you can actually talk about the Q&A session for those of you who didn't get the reference
    -To make sure that the question reaches its recipient be sure to mention the name of the person the question is meant for in your post
    -If you want to ask me something, tag your post with my username (like so: "@Dr. Snark, I have a question")
    -No spoilers
    -Don't make it weird
    -Yes, I am aware that asking Cheriss to "tell you about her body" sounds lewd even if it is kind of a legitimate question
    -Don't ask any leading questions (like "hey, you know about the *insert ancient artifact/doomsday weapon here* that is at *insert planet here* that's just up for grabs?)
    -Asking about things happening in alternate universes is just going to confuse them, absurdly detailed hypotheticals are fine though
    -There's a 50-75% guarantee that anything Ciaran tells you is a lie and a 99% guarantee that she's at least partly lying in her answers
    -Do not point at Grievous (he might mistake it as a challenge of some kind, it's for your own safety)
    -Do not take pictures of Grievous (he's actually rather camera-shy)​

    -The previous rule is true
    -The last two rules were written by Ciaran This rule does not exist
    -Antagonizing Silas, Silencer, Grievous, Asajj, Thrawn, Jango, and/or HK-47 is its own punishment

    -Chora and Larana recommend that the less you know about Silas' sex life, the better
    -In all sincerity, don't be afraid to ask questions and have fun with this

    Dear "Some Weird Conspiracy Lady" who I don't know how to word right (without accidentally getting kill goons from not just Empire, but every other place in the planet.)

    What is, your favorite lie that you can at least tell. And not the 'resting position' or any mathematician answer. An honest, favorite 'not true' statement, that is anything but the truth.
     
    Dear Ciaran are you interested in becoming immortal and if not how long do you plan to live? Have you set up any contingencies in case of your death?

    Thrawn, if and when it becomes necessary to assume control of the Abyss Watchers and its various branches, what kind of policy changes to you plan to implement, if any?

    Also what would you do if she found out about you robbing her planet so hard you use it as a slang term in your organization.

    Dear Asajj, how do you truly feel about Ciaran? Do you respect her as a leader, accept her as a 'sister'? What are the most annoying and endearing things about her?

    Ciaran have you ever thought of taking the title, Queen of Lies? It has a nice ring to it, and as an added benefit, when you tell your enemies truths that could save them they will disregard them as lies and doom themselves for added amusement.
