@Jarrik32@Habstab@Missingnoleader: each of you voted early on for 'Operation Asklepius'. Would you be willing to change your votes to 'Rod of Asclepius' since that's a more viable choice?
-Kal Skirata has begun to quietly spread word about the inhibitor chips to people he trusts to keep quiet about it. So far this number only includes himself, the Null ARCs, Walon Vau and Delta Squad.
I'm actually curious whether Kal Skirata has spread the word with any other clone groups -- such as the Alpha ARCs, or Omega Squad, or any of the other'Clone Commando' squads that Kal Skirata trained -- Delta Squad is the most famous, but the main article on Wookiepedia says that there were thousands of commandos trained and deployed in squads of four.
Something else to consider: will it be possible to recruit (or add to our list of 'Troops' on the first page) Jango Fett's Cuy'val Dar -- the 100 experts that Jango Fett brought to Kamino to train the Clone Commandos? Kal Skirata and Walon Vau are only two of the names on the list.
You're the best in your field—the best soldiers, tacticians, sappers, communicators, survival experts. I picked you personally because I want you to train the best commandos in the galaxy.
Or would that be considered one of Jango's traits if/when we add him as a Hero unit? Because having all that at our disposal would be pretty damn awesome, I have to admit.
The whole Kal Skirata/clone commando side of things fascinates me, but I know so little about it that I decided to do a bit of research. We're in the final months of 21 BBY, which means Kal Skirata's commandos have been most recently working counter-terrorism out of Coruscant, specifically against CIS-aligned terrorists located in The Works district. Their most recent success: the defeat of a major Jabiimi terrorist cell led by 'Perrive'.
Of course, nothing's ever that simple. This mission also involved:
Ordo Skirata discovers two Gurlanin (shapeshifter) agents working in the Republic Treasury, spying on the GAR to give Qiilura leverage over the Senate. Kal struck a deal, to evict the human colonists on Qiilura in exchange for the Gurlanins' help in spying on the CIS. (The Gurlanins promptly point Kal to the location of Perrive's base, plus the identity of the high-placed mole who's been helping Perrive & sabotaging Kal's investigation all year. Geez the Gurlanins are good).
Republic treasury auditor Besany Wessen gives Kal Skirata a datapad with complete access to Treasury codes & encryption algorithms. With the help of her friend and coworker Jilka Zan Zentis, they discover one of Palpatine's shell companies ('Dhannut Logistics') has been using Republic credits to build a cloning facility on a uninhabited moon of Coruscant....
Jedi Knight Etain Tur-Mukan becomes pregnant by clone commando Darman (Omega Squad) -- in canon, she was smuggled out to Mandalore to give birth. Of course, since Jedi don't do 'normal', she kept the knowledge of her child from Darman for another year, and didn't decide to leave the Jedi Order and marry him until just before Order 66...
After fighting alongside the clones (and treated as their little brother) for the better part of a year, Jedi Knight Bardan Jusik wears Mandalorian armor (the set that once belonged to Kal Skirata's father) during final strike against the terrorists. After the operation, he decides that he would rather be a Mando than a Jedi, though he doesn't formally resign from the Jedi Orderuntil later in 20 BBY.
In addition, since we saw him last (and told him about the inhibitor chips), Kal Skirata's teams have also:
Recovered Alpha-ARC clone Sull, who had gone missing on deployment to Gaftikar earlier in the year. It turns out that Sull hadn't 'gone missing' so much as 'deserted', but that's because Sull had learned that any clone trooper that deserts the GAR is summarily executed by 'Covert Ops' clone assassin teams!
Made arrangements with Rav Bravlor (Kal's long-time friend and fellow member of Jango's Cuy'val Dar) to set up Kal's home on Mandalore (called Kyrimorut) as a hidden sanctuary and fall-back position for any clone commando who wishes to desert the GAR.
Made arrangements with Nyreen Vollen (freight pilot and ally of Null-ARC clone A'den) to secretly transport any clone commandos to Kyrimorut.
Made arrangements with Mij Gilamar (fellow member of Jango's Cuy'val Dar, and fellow advisor to the GAR) to steal & smuggle medical and scientific equipment out of the Republic and to Kyrimorut to help the clones deal with their accelerated aging.
So yes, Kal and his merry men have been very busy bees this past year. Given our own research into the inhibitor chips, and their implications w/r/t Palpatine being the Sith Lord that's been pulling the strings, I imagine the clone commandos going to be connecting a lot of dots in the near future.
If we hadn't invited them on the Wesker mission, Kal's next big op would be to track down Ko Sai, 'Chief Scientist' of the Kamino cloning facilities, who apparently defected twice over (first to the CIS, second for herself) for the sake of continuing her genetic research independently. This mission would bring them back to Kamino, where Mereel (Null-7) would hack the entire Tipoca City mainframe for clues to Ko Sai's location. As a result, they find a recorded conversation between Palpatine and Lama Su (Kamino prime minister) about the impending closure of the Kamino cloning facilities.
Seeing as Ko Sai defected because she wanted to continue her 'mad science' without the constraint of working with the Republic, isn't it possible she would reach out to us and 'defect' to the CNS and/or Abyss Watchers instead? Even if she first makes a pit-stop in the CIS, they don't have what she's looking for (namely, peace and quiet) while the CNS is defined by neutrality. In canon, Ko Sai was an intrinsic part of Kal Skirata's efforts to figure out how to fix the clones' problem with accelerated aging, so her presence would be immensely useful with that.
Seeing as Kal's team had no trouble infiltrating & hacking Kamino in canon, would they be able to pull off the same thing here to look for more important information (...such as 'how to remove and/or reprogram inhibitor chips'? Or finally figure out which clones' inhibitor chips we managed to sabotage when we visited with The Silencer so many years ago...).
Also: given that Kal currently has a datapad with codes for the entire Galactic Republic's Treasury department, could he (or could we) use that intel to track down more of Palpatine's assets? Or track down Hego Damask's old assets, and figure out where they disappeared to?
Or we could just embezzle the living daylights out of the digital assets of Palpatine, or his allies/associates, or some of the major Separatist corporations. We've never gotten along with the Techno Union, after all. And I don't imagine Shu Mai's position at the head of the Commerce Guild would be improved if it were revealed that her entire personal fortune had been stolen by anonymous hackers and thieves. And it goes without saying that Talesan Fry would be extremely happy with us if we managed to bankrupt the Corporate Alliance....
...See, this is why I like to research things. Because the deeper you look, the more opportunities become apparent. This last turn was pretty spectacular, but next turn is going to be off-the-walls insane.
See, this is why having an intrigue specced organization leads to hilarity if you have crazy high dice results.
You get stuff like 'you have stolen everything they stored electronically and had bankrupted their companies, leading to you buying them out with the money you stole and they -thank you- for it.'
So does it make any sense to start spreading tendrils some of the fringe Jedi, or those of the green temple, that it might make sense, hypothetically of course, to set up some off the books temples / bases with some masters, more knights and there padawans, and even more younglings just in case something goes horribly wrong. Hypothetically of course.
Speaking of recruiting: Didn't one of you mention earlier that Jedi manage to find force users so easily is because the government runs routine tests on the force sensitivity of children? If that is how they do it, wouldn't it be quite easy for Ciaran to access the same data-bases? Given that Jedi have no serious competition, they are probably not especially hurried when seeking out potential force sensitives. Heck, Ciaran could just hack the list so that those she intends to recruit are no longer on it.
I'm worried that Wesker-problem will provide Sidious with great opportunity to *cut throat*Ciaran,
Reason Why I wanted both Ferus Olin and Kal Skirata
And in a way both of them would act as "force multiplayer" for Abyss Watchers to deal with Sidious (AB and nigh all CNS resources + part of traditional GAR with trusted Force-user + one of the BEST clone squads EVER' = 'TROUBLE')

I'm sorry, but did you just say that access to the Republic treasury department, records and all, might potentially be in our grasp?
Like, just what do these codes access? Because, uh, we could do a lot even just being able to view money movement.
We could commit SO much fraud! Not to mention scope out the financial health of corporations for easy pickings, or if we could infiltrate the tax office we could sic auditors on people.
We could infiltrate a key organ of the Republic! We could gather so much dirt and miscellaneous info.
This is stupidly valuable if we can get our hands on those codes.
