I think my favorite thing about this quest is that every time you update, I'm inundated with more ideas. Like, every time I think the well is about to run dry, you pour more water in. I've got two ideas in particular I really want to get to, but I need to finish the second part of the road trip first.

Could I get an answer for this? Because I can't see the CNS not being harassed by various groups due to being based around neutrality.

Of course. At this point the CNS military is more based around the local members working together in more of a militia configuration; relatively unorganized sure but thanks to Thrawn's tactics influencing CNS space doctrines and the increased presence of the Mandalorian Guardians it's clear to people outside that you do not want to mess with them, for they are ready and able to defend their neutrality.

Heh. Funny, I remember feeling the same way back when Teron was running things. It's nice to see that creative energy get paid forward.

I wonder how much more do we need in order to defeat Palpy?

Because he is our main enemy and we are seriously kicking his ass before he even get his plan off the ground!

Oh don't worry. Man's got contingency plans and like others have said, this more than anything else will bring about his attention.

You've certainly thrown him off at least a bit with this, but you are hardly out of the woods yet.

I think we are going to need a lot more.
Remember, Palps did not think of us a major threat to his plans. We seemed to be mosquitos that suck a little bit of blood now and then but over all not actually a threat. That perception is going to change really soon. We are going to have to be really careful.

I hope he does not send Sith Assassins against us!

Hey, if we expose Palpy as the Sith, can we get the Jedi to deal with him, and maybe protect us?

CNS relationship has leapt up to 10/10.
I'm not sure if this is new, but it looks like our IGBC relationship went up to 8/10 (I thought it had been 7/10 before...).

What an awesome (and awesomely well-written) turn. As disappointed as I am that we didn't see a Caamasi cuddle pile :p, that update was perfect.

A few clerical questions for @Dr. Snark:
Mygeeto, Maridun, and Muunilist join the CNS, with the eternal gratitude of the Lurmen and regular gratitude of the Muuns.
Does this include various nearby systems? (When I draw the map, should I connect the CNS Space around Kalee with Muunilist and Mygeeto?) Also, does this mean that the other Muun worlds are going to join the CNS, now or in the near future?

I actually looked up Muun systems as well, though I chose to publish the archaeological stuff instead. Anyway, as far as I can tell, these are the known Muun-affiliated systems (besides Muunilist and Mygeeto):
Outer Rim:
- Scipio: homeworld of Muun
- Muunilist: Muun colony world, headquarters of IGBC
- Sartinaynian: Muun client world at end of Braxant Run (renamed 'Bastion' in the Imperial era)
- Gwori: Muun client world, dominated by Gwori Revolutionary Industries and Muun-controlled shipyards
- Niro: Muun colony world, controlled by IGBC
If anyone sees one I missed (Wookiepedia can be inconsistent in cross-referencing things), let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Second clerical issue: I see you updated the front-page balance sheet with our new +30% bonus
65 (Bank Investments, Muunilist; Turn 23)
Could we itemize the +30% bonus separately, so we know it applies to all Muunilist investment? I'm thinking:
1290 (Investment)
...
50 (Bank Investments, Muunilist; Turn 23)
15 (Economic Recovery, Muunilist; Turn 23 -- 30% bonus on Muunilist income)
0 (Refugee Resettlement, Taris; Turn 23 -- 100% bonus on Taris income)
With both Taris & Muunilist bonuses formatted in the same way as the Darkroot chemical plant and its upkeep discount.

We could also (with or without the balance sheet changes) include the income bonus in our list of planetary assets, like:

Muunilist, Outer Rim
Refugee Camps
Economic Recovery (30% bonus on planetary income)
Abyss Watchers facility (Base)
- Bank Investments

Taris, Outer Rim

Refugee Settlements (100% bonus on planetary income)
Abyss Watchers Property (Base)

Thanks again for the uplifting update!

We're doing good, but you're definitely underestimating him.

Just because we're doing better than anyone else in canon did in unintentionally upsetting Palpatine's plans (save for maybe Padme or whoever it was that inspired the "we must let the wheels of the Senate turn" speech in Clone Wars) doesn't mean we're kicking his ass.

Yes, though funnily enough Scipio alone has been showing a lot of resistance to the idea thanks to one Rush Clovis for some reason or other.

That'll be fine. And I'll add in the other stuff for convenience.

besides, this is a war of attrition, to get rid of as many jedi and to scare the average citizen to think that safety is better than liberty.
that's the reason the clones have crappy armor and the droids crappy targeting computers.
he might give one side or the other (likely cis) a big advantage and just try to steamroll the other side and rule like that if we piss him off enough

So, armed merchants and some fighters make up the majority of the space force while the new ;face' of the CNS ground forces are the Guardians. Hmm...

Kinda reminds me of my pet idea I've had for Star Wars.

"Since we won't bee needing a large military after the war, we didn't want to invest to much into it, you know? At the same time, we needed something to contest an actual military that held the orbitals. Repulsorlifts were only really made in bulk at the correct specifications by a relative handful of planets, and at that were big, obvious affairs that any self respecting invader would take or destroy immediately, which made maintenance and repair a priority. And the solution for this came from some designer leaning back in his chair and remembering what his kid had been playing the night before: when high precision manufacturing is rare, why not go for the other end of the spectrum?
To be fair, even wheeled vehicles are somewhat rare in the galaxy, outside of Rim dustbowls, but if you want them to be able to be repaired basically anywhere? Tracks, wheels, really old fashioned machinery will suit you fine. And after the war, it'd underperform any vehicle made, so that was part of the post-war crash taken care of right there. Better yet, any member world could build their own chassis, all that needed to be shipped in were the correct guns and computers and you'd have a full militia force right there. I heard that some worlds even dropped down to mass drivers for their vehicles so as to cheapen their forces further, but give me a laser cannon over a slug any day."

Cata Family Roadtrip Pt. 2 (Currently Non-canon)
Cata Family Roadtrip Pt. II
Larana wandered Jedha City, looking for anyone who seemed in tune with the Force. Unfortunately, Larana's exposure to the Force consisted of a vague idea of what a Jedi Knight looked like, so she was generally being less than successful. She finally decided to test her luck with just asking one of the people around who looked religious weird instead of just regular weird.

"Excuse me, do you know where I could learn about the Force?" It was blunt, it was stupid, and if she wasn't winding up as a rumor for some local warlord, she'd be surprised. Still, it was also surprisingly effective.

"You wish to learn about the Force? Well you've certainly come to the right place friend." Larana realized that the voice was actually that of a droid, she simply hadn't noticed under all the robes. The rather organic appearance of the droid didn't do much to give it away either. "The Disciples of the Whills are always glad to assist those who wish to grow closer with the Force, provided they treat it with the respect it deserves."

"Uh, thanks." said Larana. She hadn't really expected things to be this easy. "I heard that Jedha was really important back in the day. Do you know if there are any places with unique Force… things?" Larana winced at her own lack of knowledge in regard to what Ciaran was actually looking for, but decided to plow ahead since the droid didn't seem to treat her question as anything but natural.

"Sadly, despite the efforts of our sister sect, the Guardians of the Whills, much of Jedha's cultural artifacts have been lost to either time or looters. Particularly here in the city, and the ruins around the land are too numerous to protect." The droid sounded remarkably melancholic. "I am disappointed as well. How I wish I had been able to experience the teaching of the ancient masters."

"Is there anything that hasn't been looted? Perhaps I could recover something for you and the uh, Guardians? To protect of course." ventured Larana. It was a long shot, but this groid might be one of those models that actually couldn't lie at all given how helpful it had been.

"Well, there are the Catacombs of Cadera…" it began, before frantically waving its arms in front of her as if to halt her movement, even though Larana was completely still already. "B-but those are abandoned for a reason! Everyone says that the catacombs are haunted by the spirits of those long deceased. All those who attempt to enter perish!"

Larana was adequately dissuaded. Messing with the undead was Ciaran's thing, and she wasn't touching ghosts with a ten foot long pole. "No need to worry about me. You had me out of there at 'haunted'." Larana gave an exaggerated shiver to sell her point.

"I'm glad you are not about to do anything foolish. If you wish to learn about the Force however, I've found that the elder Disciples are excellent mentors. They have taught me much. I could introduce you, if you wish?" the droid offered.

"Oh no. Thank you though. I'm here with my family, and was just curious since Jedha seems so tied to the Force." explained Larana, being intentionally vague as to why they were here and why exactly she wanted to know more about where ancient relics might be located.

"Hey Larana!" Larana turned to see Galvin and Silas headed towards her. "Hope you've had more luck than us."

"Yeah, I found this guy. He was really helpful." said Larana, gesturing to the droid. "This is my cousin Galvin and my grandfather, Silas."

"Silas? As in Silas Cata?" asked the droid, perking up upon hearing the old scoundrel's name.

"Depends who's asking." Said Silas warily, putting a hand on his blaster. Silas was touched to see Galvin reaching for his as well.

"My grandmother told many stories of you when I was young. She always said to show respect to my grandfather should I ever meet him. My name is Larus." Silas and his grandchildren stood silent for a moment as the droid's words sank in.

Silas was the one to break the silence with an awkward laugh. "I think I'd remember hooking up with a droid. I'm also pretty sure that actual reproduction with a droid is impossible, regardless of what some desperate people might wish."

"Oh, my apologies, but I am no droid." Larus pulled aside the robes to reveal a blue cluster of crystals embedded located between the chest and the stomach.

"Oh yeah, Luxsaria, I remember her. So you're my grandkid, huh? Pleased to meet you kid." said Silas amicably.

"You motherfucker." whispered Galvin before exploding. "I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT! HOW?! HOW DID YOU EVEN MAKE THAT WORK, YOU OLD BASTARD?!" Larana had to tackle her cousin as he attempted to draw his blaster, Ciaran's wrath be damned.

AN: So I figured that Silas needed a grandkid who would boost his lore stat, so I combined the joke about him sexing up a Shard with their own natural wanderlust to make his grandkid a Force sensitive Shard who is enraptured by the Force, and set off on a galactic trek to learn as much as it can from whatever source. So dedicated in fact, Larus forgoes identifying as male or female in an attempt to get closer to the Force.

As for this being an archeological action, a follow up action would let Ciaran investigate those catacombs personally. Regardless of what Dr. Snark decides is a good reward (conversation with Force ghosts, old relics, etc.) something from the dawn of the Force is bound to be pretty sweet. Unrelated, I can now get to omake-ing the newest update.

The update was genuinely one of the best things I've ever read. The only problem is trying to be that good again is going to be difficult.

Cata Family Roadtrip Pt. II

Given Shard biology (little Shards grow from big Shards essentially) I'm going to say that should this ever become canon Larus will be Silas' adoptive grandchild...not that he'd ever tell Galvin that. +10, currently non-canon.

I wonder, is he asking because he is in disbelief, or is he asking because he would like to be able to have such relations with his girlfriend?

Adopted or not, Silas doesn't play favorites.

A little (lot) of both. Of course, since Dr. Snark has declared it biologically impossible, Galvin will just have to be satisfied with "Idk, love and cuddling I guess?" as an answer.
