TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
Look at the Roll. It's for Tim, not Disney, and when I say that Disney had to give everything they had to keep him, it did not mean that they were going to make Nightmare before Christmas, it meant that tim got paid lots of money for the next year to keep him around to finish some films..
Why wouldn't he?? As far as I know, nothing's happened that would prevent him from playing Rambo? And as aside, if Stallone isn't playing Rambo, then Rambo is just straight up not being made because he was super important in getting the thing to actually go through.

Well, for one thing, I don't think there's that much interest in seeing a movie showing a broken down Vietnam Veteran at the moment, when thanks to Bruce we've helped most (if not all) of them to recover and be reintegrated in society. Not to mention that the new international policy that has Vietnam as our friend would not be a good environment to show any movie that may show our bad history with them when the wounds are just healing.
Not to mention that the movie was set to be released next year, and we haven't heard anything that Stallone has been working on it, especially since he's supposed to be acting and directing Rocky III during this entire year.
Among the many works of Don Bluth, I think the one that is the most well-known is Anastasia. I mean, it was the most famous in my opinion, considering that this was Bluth at his best; after all the experience accumulated, all the mistakes he learned from, with a studio at his back, but also with friends that could also hold him back whenever he went too far. After all, he himself has admitted that sometimes he has gone too far due to his own imagination, or that he has failed due to many restrictions. That's one of the things I like about him; when he makes a mistake he owns it instead of trying to find fault with someone else or trying to pass on the buck.
With him at our side now, I think he would have a greater chance to work with a good budget, people that can tell him when he's going to far, and many imaginative people around from which he can borrow or bounce ideas to improve his work...which he will need if we want him to only make good movies instead of the outright mess that dot his works (No Troll in Central Park in this TL!!!!). Anastasia is one of the movies that fit his style the best, taking lessons from Disney, but so much Bluth in story and animation that you can clearly see it's not Disney at all.
Thus, I give you:
Movie Pitch: Anastasia GENRE: Adventure/Drama/Comedy
SUBGENRE: Musical/Romance/Fantasy
FORMAT: Animated Movie
Set Up: Based on the urban legend that Anastasia, youngest daughter of the last monarch of imperial Russia, in fact, survived the execution of her family, thus taking many historical liberties. The daughter of the last Russian Czar (Nicolas II), Anastasia is found by two Russian con men, Dimitri and Vladimir, who seek the reward that her grandmother, the Dowager Empress Marie Feodorovna, promised to the ones who'll find her. But Grigori Rasputin, the evil mystic of the Czar family, still wants the Romanov family to be destroyed forever.
Director: Don Bluth Composer: David Newman
Anya/Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov: She is the daughter of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, and his wife, Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. She was supposedly killed in 1918 during the execution of the Romanov family.. yet managed to survive and, after being separated from her grandmother, develops amnesia and begins going by "Anya." She tries to find her real life, going along with Dimitri's scheme hoping to find the truth. Anastasia is bright, spunky, stubborn, brutally honest, but very kind and caring. She doesn't behave like royalty even though it runs in her blood. She also is a tomboy.
Played By: Demi Moore Alternate: Meg Ryan
Dimitri: A former kitchen boy at the Romanov's palace, after the revolution he became a con artist hoping to trick the Dowager Empress and get the reward money for finding Anastasia. At first, Dimitri is interested in only money, and cares little about having a place to call "home", which Anya finds shocking. Initially, he is sarcastic, cunning, dishonest, and sly, with a hint of an arrogant streak, which often upset Anya. However, as the film progressed, Dimitri matured and developed into a considerate, understanding and dependable kind-hearted young gentleman who cared for Anya, and wanted for her to be happy.
Played By: Mark Hamill Alternate: Robert Downey Jr.
Grigori Rasputin: He is a sinister powerful sorcerer, once believed to be a holy man, who was banished from Russia by Tsar Nicholas II. Eager for revenge, Rasputin plans on destroying the Russian royalty. He sold his soul to the otherworldly forces of darkness in exchange for his amulet and for the power to destroy the czar and his family, in the process becoming a lich (a type of undead creature with magical powers). He then returns to the Russian palace and inflicts on the czar's family with the Romanov curse. He is an arrogant and evil man, as well as somewhat obsessive and impulsive with his objectives when these are not achieved.
Played By: Christopher Lee Alternate: Tim Curry
Vladimir "Vlad" Vasilovich: He used to be a member of the Imperial Court of Russia, allowing him to see much royalty throughout his lifetime. Ten years following the brutal execution of the Romanov family, rumors of the youngest Romanov Grand Duchess Anastasia's escape spread quickly throughout St. Petersburg, catching the attention of Vladimir and his young confidante, Dimitri. Although Vladimir was hoping to receive the Dowager Empress' reward money almost as much as Dimitri was, he was also glad to help Anya find her family, and guided her with a great amount of sensitivity and gentleness.
Played By: Christopher Lloyd Alternate: Kelsey Grammer
Maria Feodorovna: She is the paternal grandmother of Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the widow of Tsar Alexander III. Dowager Empress Marie is a generally kind and pleasant woman with an automatic regal and presence, but she can also be stubborn and outspoken, traits she shares with Anastasia. Although she can appear marginally stingy at times, she is in no way selfish nor ungrateful, considering that she is more than willing to reward 10 million roubles to whoever safely returned her granddaughter to her. She is hard to fool, and hard to please. She is able to recognize the mistakes that many Anastasia imposters are making, to the point of which it was beginning to take an emotional toll on her.
Played By: Angela Lansbury Alternate: Judi Dench
"Comrade" Phlegmenkoff: She is the grouchy and strict manager of the Orphanage. When Anya leaves the orphanage she refers to Phlegmenkoff as Comrade showing that Russia has now converted to communism.
Played By: Andrea Martin
Bartok: He was Rasputin's committed sidekick, but 10 years after the execution of the Romanovs has left Bartok skeptical about being Rasputin's sidekick and is constantly trying to convince Rasputin to "get a life" and to stop being stressed.
Played By: Hank Azaria
Sophie Stanislovskievna Somorkov-Smirnoff: She was Dowager Empress Maria's own lady-In-Waiting, as well as her cousin. She tries to be of help to her among all the Anastasia impostors.
Played By: Bernadette Peters
Nicholas II Romanov: Father of Anastasia and last Emperor of Russia. He banished Rasputin for his evil acts, and thus suffered his curse, along with his entire family.
Played By: John Lithgow
A.N.: I think we can make this movie in the latter half of the 80s, mainly because this movie is in a way somewhat subversive of the Princess Tropes within Disney films, but I think we should try for some real Princess movies to have our own rather than leave Disney with the only ones. Besides, I've wanted to do The Little Mermaid and Aladdin for a while now, so those movies should take priority over this one.
GENRE: Sports/Comedy SUBGENRE: Racing FORMAT: Animated Movie
The film opens with the narrator describing a Golden City. According to a prophecy, if the three golden balls on the top of its highest minaret are taken away, the city will fall to destruction and death; however, the city can be saved by the "simplest soul with the smallest and simplest of things". The two titular characters, an unsuccessful but persistent thief, and Tack the poor and lonely cobbler, are both mute and have no dialogue.
When the thief tries his luck at the home of Tack, Tack accidentally sews their clothes together while he is asleep and the thief is leaning over him. They stumble onto the street, and Zigzag the rhyming grand vizier, who is proceeding through the street, steps on one of Tack's tacks. Angered by the pain, he orders Tack to be arrested, while the thief manages to escape. When Tack is being taken to the palace, the thief sees the three golden balls in the courtyard. Zigzag takes Tack before the sleepy king Nod and his beautiful daughter, princess Yum-Yum, who takes a liking to Tack (and vice versa.) Before Zigzag can convince the king to have Tack executed, Yum-Yum saves him by breaking her shoe on purpose and demanding that the cobbler should fix it. Tack fixes her shoe while developing a romantic bond with the princess that leaves Zigzag, who harbors great lust for Yum-Yum, intensely jealous. After he is done, the thief, who has managed to break into the palace through the sewer system, steals the shoe, and Tack chases him through hallways filled with optical illusions. After Tack manages to get the shoe back, he bumps into Zigzag, who notices that the shoe has been fixed and uses the opportunity to lock Tack away in a prison cell.
Outside the city, a race of monstrous one-eyed men, led by the warlord Mighty One-eye, plans to conquer it. Unknown to them, a single soldier of the army they have just defeated is still alive, though mortally wounded, and rides to warn the king. Meanwhile, Zigzag tells his starving pet vulture Phido his plan to marry the princess and take over the kingdom. Phido hates Zigzag due to the fact he does not feed him and treats him badly (accidentally setting him on fire multiple times). The following morning, king Nod has a vision of the Golden City's doom by the one-eyes and calls Zigzag immediately (interrupting his attempt to feed Tack to Phido). When Zigzag has managed to convince the king that they are "safe from any threat as long as the three golden balls are on the minaret", the thief manages to steal the balls after several failed attempts, but drops and loses them to Zigzag's minions. Meanwhile, Tack breaks out of his cell using his cobbling tools while people panic over the loss of the balls. The dying soldier finally arrives and warns Nod about the one-eyes. After seeing that the balls are gone, the horrified king tells his subjects about the dire situation and prepare the city's defense for an invasion. Later that night, Zigzag receives the balls from his minions and attempts to blackmail the king to let him marry his daughter Yum-Yum. When king Nod refuses, Zigzag decides to defect to the one-eyes instead and give them the golden balls.
Nod sends Yum-Yum, her nanny and Tack on a perilous journey to ask for help from the Mad And Holy Old Witch, who lives in the desert. The heroes meet a band of dim-witted brigands in the desert, whom Yum-Yum declares as her royal guard. Together they travel to the hand-shaped mountain where the witch lives. The witch says that Tack is able to save the Golden City, and gives him the advice: "Attack, Attack, ATTACK! A tack, see? But it's what you do with what you've got!". Meanwhile, Zigzag goes to the Mighty One-eye and impresses him with his skills as a sorcerer and by taming the alligators that the one-eyes throw him to. They then prepare to attack the city.
The protagonists return to the city while the one-eyes' huge war machine is approaching. Remembering the witch's riddle, Tack steps forward and shoots a single tack into the enemy's midst. The tack starts a Rube Goldberg-esque chain reaction that causes the war machine to slowly collapse, destroying the whole one-eye army in the process. When trying to escape, Zigzag falls into a dark pit where he is ambushed by the alligators and Phido. Because Zigzag has not kept his promise to feed them, they eat him alive. The Mighty One-eye, who had been watching from a nearby cliff, is killed by his own slave women. The thief, while evading many deathtraps, steals the balls from the war machine, but they are taken from him by Tack: The thief, who has had various misadventures throughout the film, finally gives up and lets him have them. With peace restored and the prophecy fulfilled, the city celebrates as Tack and Yum-Yum marry; before their kiss, Tack speaks for the first time in the film, saying "I love you" to Yum-yum in a surprisingly low and deep voice. The movie ends with the thief stealing the entire film and running away.
The story of this film is quite fascinating, it is the very personal and extremely cherished project of Richard Williams, a great Hollywood animator, among other things he created the "A Christmas Carol" of 1971 for which he received an Oscar, he also made the surrealist "Raggedy ann & andy" and was the one who did the animation for "Who framed roger rabbit", this film was considered extremely difficult to make because one of the most ambitious in the history of the animation, Richard started working on it in 1960, the project passed under numerous producers, was financed independently and experienced many failures then was recovered by Disney who quickly got rid of it after having stolen all the ideas they could for their Aladin project (literaly,It is believed that Disney kept as much of the artwork as possible once Miramax bought the film and reedited it into Arabian Knight- which would mean much of the artwork is currently in a "bunker in Burbank."), it was Miramax who bought the project, unfortunately at the time it was Harvey Weinstein who was the boss of Miramax, it would have already been bad with any stupid producer hungry for money but with him this was worse.
He completely distorted the film to add everything he thought would make the film more marketable, adding bad and tasteless songs, endless monologues so that characters supposed to be mute and "show don't tell type of charachter" describes each of their actions,he literaly trashed artworks, added unfunny jokes, and references to pop culture which stain the film like a dick pick on the wailing wall, thus transforming a unique and passionate project into a tasteless sub-Disney, thus spitting on the 35 years of work that the talented Richard Williams had put into what was his life's work.
However, thanks to animation fans, unfinished pieces of animation, sound and art (as well as a little hacking),re-animation of lost and unfinished scene a reassembly was done coming as close as possible to the original vision, I highly advise you to go took a look if only for the final battle,i think it's worth it. Realizing this would not only be a triumph for art but would also put the future animator of Roger Rabbit in our pocket.
On one level I am saddened that Bruce is not Duncan. On another it clears us away to properly focus on Star Wars Revenge of the Jedi and its inevitable shenanigans. On balance probably a good outcome.
I started one a while back and was coordinating with Kaiser Chris for it, but I just couldn't find any summary of the show online that wasn't 1 or 2 sentences at most and was struggling to come up with my own summary for it. Although, I do think that I'll try and go back to it and just bite the bullet on the short summary and focus on padding the pitch out with other stuff, like a cast list.
I think we should just let the Rugrats show be created organically on its own by Klasky-Csupo. We already have Hannah-Barbera, just let them ahve this.
Seeing as we finally decided to go for having Gamera begin its new reboot to face against Godzilla's own reboot, I remmebered that, at first, Toho tried remaking Godzilla as to ignore all movies that came after the first one, thus making it more serious instead of the children's version they tried during the 60s and 70s. However, this meant that, during the first two movies, their plan was to make new mosnters for Godzilla to fight, and leaving the old ones (King Ghidorah, Rodan, Gigan, Mothra, etc.) to the side. It was only seeing how the second movie did not have the expected boost when they decided to bring back the old monsters and update them for the new reboot.
But, as it is now, they don't see any value in the old monsters for the future of Godzilla. At this time, we could try to buy at the very least some of them for the Gamera franchise. I don't think we might be able to get all of them, but if at the very least we could get Mothra or King Ghidorah then I would be satisfied.
Even if we cant directly steal the monsters we can potentially Repeat Pacific rim and Mine the original Myth. King Godora for example is is based on the Orochi. Throw in Lucassfilm Effort and ACTUALLY PAYING STAFF AND NOT WORKING THEM TO DEATH and i think we have some real potential.
ten second story idea.
Gamera comes to isolated town and finds children crying. Every year child needs to go onto small cave to unblock river so town gets water but the child never comes back, only the chewed bones of the child are found .
Adults say if child is careful will come back safe and when child not careful bones are gotten by wild animals.
Townfolk scared of Gamera having stories of giant monster and try to hide.
Because they are hiding No child can go into cave to unblock the water Resulting in Beast in cave awakening and breaks out. The thing blocking water is seen to be mutated three headed legally distinct Godora.
Kaiju battle.
Godorah wins battle. The battle has clears the cave allowing water to flow freely.
Townsfolk find Godoras nest and strange crystals which focus radiation.
Godorah is mutant because mountain focused nuclear blast on Godorah causing it to grow huge and become trapped.
Now truth is found Gamera leaves with grateful village sorry they didn't listen to children earlier.

Hmmm...perhaps make it an isolated island, add a team or two that is going to investigate it tohave the human element. Have them discover "Godora", whose escape from the cave has Gamera appearing to fight it off. We ocul also have the crystals found to have been the ones to mutate "Godora", and also the only things that can harm him aside from Gamera. THen we can have a final climactic fight, where "Godora" is imprisoned with the Crystals to keep him weak trapped forever.
I like it! We're using that wheter we get King Ghidorah or not. Thanks man!

They'll probably try to make us pay through the nose for them.* Someone's bound to realize there must be some worth to them if we want them. Also If we go after Mothra we should make sure to get the Shobijin and the Mothra song. We should probably get any of the associated charecters for the other monster too but I'm not a big old school Godzilla fan so I'm not sure those are as important.

Plot ;Taking place in a Roger Rabbit-style world where humans and cartoons live together and Acme is a major parent company at the head of some of the biggest products in the world. Wile E. Coyote, who only speaks in signs and cartoonish expressions, hires Kevin Avery of the Avery, Jones, and Maltese law firm to take the conglomerate to court for every single Acme product of his career trying to catch the Road Runner. They soon find themselves stuck in a no-win legal battle against Acme as Avery faces his tyrannical old acquaintance Buddy Crane , a hot-shot attorney representing the company and its crooked animated products department head, Foghorn Leghorn. Throughout the film, Avery and Wile E. forge a bond as they search for a smoking gun to prove Acme's corruption.
Avery and Wile. E's investigation see them visit other Tunes like Daffy Duck, Granny, Tweety, and (Senator) Elmer Fudd, affected by Acme's greed while being stalked and threatened by someone who doesn't want them to reach the truth. The whole trial turns out to be one giant scheme for Wile. E to catch the Road Runner, he and Avery overcome their squabbles to uncover a secret Acme program to test intentionally faulty products on cartoons to learn more about their physics-defying invulnerability. To top it off, an animated version of Casablanca star Peter Lorre in his Dr. Lorre form introduced in "Hare-Raising Hare" plays an integral role in the story as an homage to the Looney Tunes animators' love for depicting him.
I hate warner bros for shelving that movie that could have been the next roger rabbit and if they destroyed it as davidz aslav claimed they are gonna do then i wish them to suffer a lot
