Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[]John crawls out from the bottle with the help of the boys (John gets an intervention from the writers room and it works, autopassing that action)

Time to save another one of Bruce's male relationships with an autopass! As much as I want the Soviets to experience their own medicine, I don't want John's life to be ruined with alcoholism and depression.

Yeah. Well I am going to say this. It's more the Writer's room saves it now. That omake is going to affect how I write it up.

-[X] Keeping a Promise: Let's do this one more time, for good this time. DC: ??? Rolled:D100 - 10 => 65

You took a breath as you looked at the interviewer, and you smiled. It was something that filled you with joy as you took a breath and finally finished.

"Finally, was that so hard?" George laughed.

"I should punch you in the face for this George." You replied. "This was terrible."

"It was perfect." He replied. "And I had to suffer through it too."

"You got to talk about cameras and effects, and could change the subject on a whim because you could." You replied.

"The perks of not being an actor and director on this film." He replied. "And to not talk about Star Wars."

You frowned. "I am going to tell Marcia about Japan."

George smiled. "She already knows."

Dammit.

Reward: You have a successful interview. It has a small effect on the audience and critic roll.
----------------------------------

-[X] Getting the Writers Room Back Together: They have been a mess since John came back, and most of them are having trouble even focusing on their work anymore, trying to get John back home, and out of the bottle. DC:??? Rolled:D100 => 67

You honestly didn't know how the boys would do it. But somehow they did it. Because they gathered themselves together, went to Johns Apartment, and basically kidnapped him, and put him in the safest place they could think of. The Writers room.

You didn't know if it worked.

But you know that John has stopped drinking. And he was going to see a doctor in LA proper, someone that several veterans from Vietnam are seeing.

He said he would never forget anything. But… it would be alright. soon.

Reward: John is back...but it will take time for him to fully recover. He has delayed the production of Red Dawn. For a time.

Mike understands and is still paying him his full salary.

In a few months, he will go back.
---------------------------------------

-[X] The Animators of Lucasfilms (America): You want to produce more movies, so you are putting out a call for any animators in America to see if they will join you. DC 50/??? Rolled:D100 => 57

It wasn't much, there really wasn't much talent, to say the least… but you are sure that a couple more collage animators were okay with working for Dreamworks.

Reward: You now have enough Animators to start producing a second Animated film at the same time. However, there is a slight problem. The money used to pay them will be far more than you intended, due to the Animators strike that occurred while you were overseas… but that is okay. You have enough cash you think.
----------------------------------------------------

-[X] The Animators of Lucasfilms (Japan): Sunrise is a place that is always cranking out more shows, but you want to try and see if they can get another show and team of animators to do a personal project of the Goose. DC: 35/???/??? Rolled:D100 => 60

Sunrise put out an ad in the Japanese main newspapers. Offering over a hundred new positions as animators for Animation. That would have been normal, most Japanese animators were not really under contract, but on commission, who worked for studios that paid the most and went out and worked at multiple studios or on multiple projects.

This was different. Sunrise had Lucasfilm's money and a guaranteed salary of 70,000 dollars. Every Animator in Japan wanted to work in Sunrise so that they could have their families… or even start families while doing what they loved. Or not have to worry about the strain of finances from other studios.

Every other studio noticed, but they did not have Lucasfilm money. They didn't or weren't willing to pay their animators.

Yet all they could do was watch as Sunrise swallowed up 100 of the best animators in Japan. Like it was nothing.

And they were talented beyond belief. And they owed the Goose and Tomino a favor.

Reward: 100 Animators have been hired by Sunrise to increase anime production. At the end of the year, you can create another anime in addition to Miraculous, which will gain a big boost to its production rolls.

Rivals' quality will decrease.
-------------------------------------------------

-[X] Happy Together: "Come on, we're getting a picture." You looked at George. "Please get this." DC: 0 Rolled:D100 => 59

You were holding Mary who was not enjoying this. At all. "We should put Kermit on the camera, than she'll be happy."

Carrie leaned over to your shoulder and sighed. "But if we took it away, she would cry. And we just calmed her down."

Both of you were exhausted at this, and you were trying your best to get Mary to look at the Camera. "George, can we just take the picture!"

"Hey, you're the one who is asking me to take it, and I want to do this right, and only once." He said. "Carrie, please move your head ever so slightly to the left."

You frowned. "This is what I get to have a director take my family photo."

"Hey, you asked me." George responded.

"And I'm regretting that choice," you responded. "Mary don't eat Kermit." Mary was beginning to chew on Kermit's hand.

George then smiled. "Alright everyone, smile."

"Three"

You smiled and whispered. "I love you."

"Two."

Carrie didn't respond, but you knew what she wanted to say.

"One."

Reward: You finally got a picture. It was a good one.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-[X] Getting Through Carries Pregnancy: You smile, as you realize she was screaming at you. "Bruce, where the hell are all my chocolates!" DC:30 Rolled:D100 + 40 => 44

You were trying your best to keep things moving, but that was always going to be hard for two different reasons.

One reason was Mary, who was not used to her mommy being so strange, and it was scaring her.

Two, and most importantly, was Carrie herself. Now it was normal for mood swings and cravings to happen, at least in what you were able to read.

That much was certain. But you only looked to Debbie and asked. "Was she like this when I was gone?"

Debbie laughed. "She was far worse. She cried for you every day for two weeks trying to gather the courage to buy a ticket to go to you. Only took ice cream and her friends to make her stop. And help her realize you would be home soon."

You then heard her scream. "WHERE ARE MY CHOCLATES!"

"Am I going to hell if I say that I'm terrified of my wife as she is right now?" You asked.

"No dear, you would be a smart man." She handed over a box of chocolates. "But also a foolish one. Now go get her, and keep my little girl safe."

"I always will." You replied.

Reward: you and Debbie help Carrie get through her… more extreme moments of moods. She's very sorry that it happened.

Carrie's episodes of depression are… significantly worse when you were gone…so she's extremely happy that you remained home.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-[X] An Ultrasound: You know Carrie isn't far enough along to tell the gender, but she insisted, said she felt like it was special. DC: ??? Rolled:D100 + 40 => 109

You looked at the screen and were surprised to see something that made you extremely happy… and worried.

"Twins?!" You said with surprise in your voice, and Carrie was also looking at the doctor, very concerned. "Um is that dangerous?"

"Normally, I would say only a little and precautions would need to be made to protect yourself and the babies, but considering the healthy lifestyle that you Lead Mrs. O'Brian, as well as the ease in which your previous pregnancy was, as well as your body healing substantially since you gave birth to your daughter… well I won't say that it won't be dangerous, but I am confident that it will be a smooth birth, provided there aren't any medical complications." The Doctor stated.

He smiled. "Well, I'll make sure there are copies are made for you."

Reward: You and Carrie are going to have twins. And while the Doctor is not entirely certain, he is pretty sure that Carrie will have a safe birth as long as she does not change her lifestyle, or does something dangerous.
--------------------------------------------------------------
-[X] The Dark Knight: You are going to the premiere of Batman. And you are going to make sure things are going well. DC: 35 Rolled:D100 => 100

Holy Fuck. It's blowing up bigger… well okay, not as big as star wars… but pretty damn close.

This was the year of Bruce O'Brian.

(Continued in Batman)
---------------------------------------------------------------

-[X] Cat is in Hollywood?: Soo… Cat, how does it feel working for the Evil Empire? DC:???
Rolled:D100 => 95

As you sat down on the porch of Cats' new home, you wondered quite a few things but never bothered to ask them. Well until now. "Disney, really?"

Cat laughed. "Well, to be honest, Sid came to me a few days prior to me choosing Roy, with an offer that was almost insane. He gave me free rein on a single picture, any script I want to produce, in exchange for the filming rights for my novels."

"And you didn't take it why?" You asked.

"Well, for one thing, I'd never get in the way of the blood feud. I know what Sid did to Carrie, and I told him to fuck off and never come to my home again. He had hurt my sister and that is not something I would ever take."

Sister? "Didn't know you and Carrie were that close?"

"She married you, that makes her one." Cat smiled. "Well, Roy came to me and just wanted my opinion, him and some Imagineer who was desperate to start his own animated adventure story, who was looking for a writer. I came on board because I have another book almost ready and I wanted a challenge." She smiled.

"But Disney?" You asked.

"Bruce, no offense, and don't take this the wrong way… But I don't want to work for you. That would just be saying I rely on you, and I don't want people to see me in that light." She said. "It's hard enough after going home to Ireland for a few years in exile. But I learned to enjoy that kind of freedom."

"You wound me." You said with a smile. "But I'm happy for you."

Reward: You love to see Cat succeed.
------------------------------------------------------

-[X] Gavin Get's Hitched: You are surprised when you receive the invitation to Gavin's Wedding. DC: 50 Rolled: D100 => 50

It was almost impossible to see Gavin so happy, but you were really smiling at his side. "I knew you'd finally ask her?"

"Well not everyone has the money to have a dream wedding with your friends and family." He said. "And this is my day, not yours."

"Oh, I know. Hey, maybe the O'Brian luck will finally rub off on you." You smiled.

"Screw you." He said as he looked to his future wife, walking down the aisle

And it was perfect for him.

Reward: Gavin got married.
---------------------------------------------
-[X] A New Way of Doing Things: Since Brandon wants to be an actor, You decided that he will do things your way in how to handle a situation and of course, that means one thing. "Time to do Henry the Vth Brandon." The Complete Works of Shakespeare needed to be memorized cover to cover. DC: ??? Rolled:D100 => 72

You took a deep breath as you looked at the book that Bradon was trying to memorize. "Come now Hal, you must not be afraid of fumbling words."

Brandon frowned. "Could you stop it? I'm trying."

"That's the problem. You are trying far too hard when the words are there, and you just need to feel them!" You said with a smile. "How many times have you watched a production of Shakespeare, and not one done by a school, but a professional trope?"

"Two or three times. But it was in Cantonese. Not English." Brandon said.

"Then think of the words in Cantonese, before thinking of them in English, then let it flow. Be comfortable."

And then Brandon smiled. "Now. Try it again. Imagine the emotion of Henry. A young man who is trapped in history and has the ability to shape it."

Brandon then snarked. "No pressure."

Reward: Brandon has begun to understand why you are doing it. He is getting better as an actor. And sees you as a very good mentor.

-[X] Helping Brandon Graduate Part 5: So Brandon, you are now a junior. We are going to get you to graduate by the end of the year, so that you may join the workforce without sacrificing your education. DC: 60/??? Rolled:D100 => 61

Brandon groaned. "How many more chapters?"

"Two more for tonight." You smiled.

Reward: Brandon is beginning to hate you as a teacher… but he won't deny that he is really learning things well.

We really should take the practice writing action soon. We have a good number of live action scripts, but it feels like we're pretty darn low on animated scripts. Actual scripts, not pitches.

Hell yes! Nice to see us finally able to work on a second movie and to be able to produce more anime with Sunrise. Really hyped for the awesome potential we can do in animation, all while Disney is lost and reorganizing. I will definitely try to pump out as much scripts as I can, got an ambitious one in the works that can be a classic. Also looks like the 80's will be a mini-dark age for non-Sunrise anime as they lose their best and brightest to us. Gonna be interesting to see how modern anime turns out.

Jacen and Jaina O'Brian! You know I had a very strong suspicion that the ultrasound was gonna reveal the twins if we wouldn't find out the gender. Also Carrie Dice gonna Carrie Dice with that nat 69. Poor Carrie, carrying twins is a handful and having Bi-polar at the same time is bound to make the mood swings and cravings worse. But oh boy, at the current rate it looks like Billie O'Brian here will be Bruce and Carrie's sixth or seventh child. Well, I guess 1980 will be a very busy year focused on twin raising for Bruce, good thing we got Debbie for support. We should definitely not take a movie next year as we need to be present to support Carrie to make up for Conan, and twin births are usually early so we need to be prepared for a spring birth.

Will we know the genders of the babies? I bet Sarah is gonna be absolutely thrilled with the two for one deal.

Oh my Lord, that nat 100 is definitely going to nab Bruce is first billion dollar movie as Director. Really awesome year of O'Brian and hopefully if Batman is as great as promised, then we can really entice Marvel to come to us either for Lucasfilms to purchase them or for us to make Marvel shows or movies. They can't deny our power after what Bruce did to Batman and they certainly won't want him being a solely DC guy.

Glad to see that Bruce's siblings are doing great. Shame that Cat will probably never work for us, would love to have her in the writer's room. Hopefully some time spent with Disney will make her more amneable down the line, or we can at least adapt her books. Glad to see Gavin and Susan are finally married. Happy times for O'Brians, and hopefully Mary and her siblings can get some more cousins.

Mary giggles

Wally wordlessly tugs Mary's hand

Mary: Goodbye Kermit Wally wants Mary go Now.

Both walk off set.

Kermit turns to the camera and makes an O face.

After a few seconds muffled in the background.

? Director: There is no way you are going to let us use that, is there?
? Mary's father: No

Camera cuts off

Absolutely love this! Mary is hillarious as always and it's funny seeing Jim be out of his element with a very bright kid. Hope she and Wally can be on Sesame Street proper one day. Also I kind of hope that Kermit O'Brian becomes a canon part of the Muppet lore.

Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest Original

Red Twilight Within his dimly lit office with only the dim light of the outside peeking in through the blinds to offer illumination, John Milius blinded himself to the problems of the world, most especially the rotten plague of war with the age old companion of a bottle of alcohol. It was...
Neat piece @Kaiser Chris Though the romance thing was bit weird since John in this year would be a recently married man with his new wife for about a year.

Oh boy this is heavy as shit. I love it.

[]John crawls out from the bottle with the help of the boys (John gets an intervention from the writers room and it works, autopassing that action)
[]It gets worse (Meanwhile in Romania Soviet troops are getting sick)
[]Something is going to give (Unknown effect)
Can I add mine as well? We do also have to consider that John Milius character was always someone of a extremist mindest as provided by a quote by the man him himself:
I'm not a reactionary—I'm just a right-wing extremist so far beyond the Christian Identity people like that and stuff, that they can't even imagine. I'm so far beyond that I'm a Maoist. I'm an anarchist. I've always been an anarchist. Any true, real right-winger if he goes far enough hates all form of government, because government should be done to cattle and not human beings.[102]

(I don't have a title for this omake just yet. ... Maybe "Of first steps and flash of thoughts"??? )

"Oh, you." Barely suppressing a flinch from John's cold greeting, Bruce stepped over the threshold of John's dingy apartment room.

Cramped and dark it was befuddling to see John blitzing through the room, flying past the window as quickly as he could. Bringing back a couple of bottles John threw himself into 'his' couch, perfectly angled to observe the entrance door and the majority of the room.

'Shit.' Was all Bruce could think of, moving to grab both bottles from the table, only to flinch as John's hand shot forward, clamping around his wrist like iron.

"Don't. Not this time."

His brown eyes were hard, sharp but had none of the brightness they previously held when John had left for Romania.

"John-"

"If you wanna talk then this is the only house rule. If you can't stomach that, you can get out now!"

Whatever Bruce had wanted to say died on his tongue as he saw the look on John's face and with a small nod, sat down on the seat behind him. Only then did John relinquish his immovable hold on Bruce's wrist. And with a heavy heave threw himself back , opened a bottle and held it tight to his chest.
For a moment it seemed neither knew just what to say to each other, something indescribable looming over them both . With the only comfort that Bruce could raw from this was the fact that John hadn't brought the bottle to his lips just yet.

He was simply looking at the beverage with an strangely piercing gaze. Working his mouth, his fingers tapping away at the bottle as his foot bounced by it's heel.

"The first man to die in front of me was the one to offer me a drink just before our interview began. Hank was setting up the camera, David checked the mic and our guards were at the lookout when-"

John harrumphed a weird sound like he was working through something in his throat as he continued.

"That old guy's blood splattered against my face, the glass he had offered me still in my hand, as he just slumped." The contemptuous glare John threw at the curtained window could've melted concrete, "There was shouting and everyone just rushed away from the windows to the nearest bit cover they could find."

"Eight hours. Bruce. It wasn't until the sun was dipping and one of our guards, Adrian, was riddled like Swiss cheese by that fucker that we managed to escape. Crawled through the sewers like rats for two hours. Three didn't make it. Infection got Daniel the day after."

A heaving sigh more akin to a growl rumbled out of John as Bruce blinked in a daze.

"That seems so random." The words stumbled out of him as he tried to grasp the event only to be interrupted by John, his trigger finger sharply moving.

"But deliberate! That was the thing! Eight hours of playing with us as he riddled that poor man, Adrian and Daniel with bullets, forcing us to crawl through filth and decay to escape a mere two hundred meters away, the place where our interview was to be held was hit by an artillery strike. Killing ten and wounding almost thirty!"

"That old man was the last of his family Bruce and I saw an entire family line get exterminated like it was nothing, because he was a Romanian. No one, no where in Romania was safe from the Russians. That was my fistful of reality."

"And it was only my first week there."

Bruce looked at at John who opened up to him for the first time ever since coming back from Romania.

"So that's why you come here." Bruce barely managed to suppress the cringe at his obvious statement as he nodded to himself.

"Celia will be relived."

In a flash John shut his eyes closed and a couple of heartbeats passed in absolute silence as Bruce could only watch John swallow thickly through the lump in his throat.

"Yeah."

'This'll bite me, maybe.' Bruce filled a glass with the beverage and raised it for a toast.

"Well then, to more ephiphanies."

John, quirked his eyebrow at Bruce. His hesitance clear as day in the dark room, Bruce pressed on.

"I want to tackle this with you because you're my friend John. And what you just told me was the very first time you opened up like this. So even if this means indulging in a bad habit, I got time."

For a moment it looked like John didn't know what to say, his eyes darting from Bruce, across the room, to the window, the door and back again.

Before he carefully leaned forward, clinking glasses as he took a sip and the tales started to flow from John's mouth.

Of soviet soldiers breaking partisants arms and legs before putting them on anti-personal mines on major refguee evacuation routes.

Of the russian air forces doing strafing runs on the columns of refugees, with tank formation following shortly behind.

"Afterall, anybody who ran from the Red Army couldn't possibly be a loyal citizen!"

The disgust was clear to see and hear and John's hand reached out for the bottle, only to halt and linger in the air. And shift away, to the glass half empty as he took a slow sip.

In that moment something flashed in John's eyes and he made a small 'oh' sound as he leaned back.

"Einstein was right afterall."

At Bruce questioning look, John leaned forward and Bruce saw excitement in John as he spoke more animatedly than he ever had after his return from Romania.

"You see we always think the next will be like the one we fought before, just with little changes to it. Thing is there isa whole lot of changes. Because different people fighting on different places for different causes with different tools. The formula remains the same, but the variables change!"

Bruce blinked as tried to see what connection John had seen.

"And where does Einstein come into this?"

"Because we always, always persume to upend and change the entire formula because of the change of a single variable! Every single god damn time, yet it is always different yet similar, at the same time."

" 'The Nuke makes conventional wars obsolete!' 'The Tank makes conventional war fighting obsolete!' 'The fucking plane makes conventional war fighting obsolete!' But the formula remaind the same despite and especially with the change in the variables."

"You lost me John."

John waved Bruce's confusion off with a laugh.

"I'll tell you in more detail later. It's just, now I think, I realized there is also another variable that can be changed in this formula that is called 'War'. "

The levity vanished from John's voice and gaze and Bruce stiffend a dreadful look at the half empty bottles of beverage on the table. Yet John's hands stayed well away from them for now. And even as Bruce would leave the apratment with mixed feelings and cautious hope for John, his words continued to haunt him all the way home.

"It's not only men that wage wars, Bruce. Beasts do it too."

Animated TV Show Pitch: Pacific Rim
Neat piece @Kaiser Chris Though the romance thing was bit weird since John in this year would be a recently married man with his new wife for about a year.
Not that weird actually. Happens all the time in those kinds of high stress, high danger environments where you can lose your life at any second. People tend to live life quickly and adhere more closely to passions and instinct than anything necessarily well thought out. My understanding is that it happens all the time with soldiers. Sometimes it's also just something as simple as distance from their loved ones/those that cause them to seek out others to pursue their infidelity or even just simple temptation.

Nothing special to say before the pitch this time, I just don't feel particularly up to it right now. Talked about doing this a while ago, never got around to it. Got stressed out thinking about my college work and decided to work on this to get my mind off of it and de stress. Didn't work, I just got more stressed. Pumped this out in a couple of hours though, so that was nice. Didn't get any sleep though. I also finally got my accommodations approved by the Disability Services Office at my college, which was nice after pulling teeth with them for the past year. Still have some work I need to go over with them before everything is truly sorted, but it's good to be moving forward, even if slowly. The Additional Details section is subject to change if you guys would like to make any particular suggestions or have any ideas. I will consider them and decide whether or not to include them or make adjustments.

Enjoy

Animated TV Show Pitch:
Pacific Rim
Written by: Mavis Kingsley

GENRE: Action/Sci Fi
SUBGENRE: Saturday Morning Cartoons/Drama/Kaiju/Horror
FORMAT: Animated Television Show/Anime

PLOT SUMMARY: Set in the indeterminate future, Earth has come under attack by the Kaiju, colossal sea monsters that have appeared mysteriously from the depths of the oceans. To combat the monsters, humanity united to create the Jaegers, enormous humanoid mechs, each controlled by two co-pilots whose minds are joined by a mental link through a process known as "drifting" in order to share the mental stress of piloting the mechs. Many years have passed since the Kaiju first appeared and the humanity is losing against the Kaiju, losing many cities and countless lives to their destruction. Raleigh Becket, former Jaeger pilot is called back into service and partnered with rookie pilot Mako Mori in the hopes of finally pushing back the Kaiju.

Raleigh Becket: A jaded and washed-up former pilot of the Jaeger, Gipsy Danger. After the loss of his brother and fellow co-pilot, Yancy Becket, he quit the Jaeger program. He is later called out of retirement by the Pan Pacific Defense Corps to pilot Gipsy Danger once more alongside prodigious rookie, Mako Mori. He is haunted by the death of his brother and struggles with moving past the event. He often projects his brother onto Mako.

Mako Mori: Raleigh's co-pilot who lost her family in a Kaiju attack and was brought into the Jaeger program to train from a young age to become an ideal Jaeger pilot, though has yet to see true action. Although Mori possesses a strength and fury that should serve well against the Kaiju, Pentecost is reluctant to actually use her, partly because of a fatherly bond developed as part of his involvement with the Jaeger program and partly because he knows she is still fighting the terrors of her childhood. However, the PPDC often attempts to push her well beyond her limits with great detriment to her physical, mental, and emotional health, although she seems determined to push herself just as hard.

Marshal Stacker Pentecost: Raleigh's commanding officer in Pan Pacific Defense Corps and former Jaeger pilot dying of radiation poisoning due to lax radiation shielding on the first Jaeger models. He cares very deeply for Mako Mori, seeing her almost as a surrogate daughter and thus, despite her desperate desire to go into combat, he is hesitant to do so, even at the cost of getting in trouble with his superiors. He carries himself with great authority and seems to carry the weight of the whole world on his shoulders, just the same as his pilots.

Dr. Newton "Newt" Geiszler: A scientist in the PPDC studying the Kaiju and working to understand them. He is arrogant and eccentric and his partnership with Dr. Hermann Gottlieb often serves as a source of humor and comic relief.

Dr. Hermann Gottlieb: A scientist studying the Kaiju alongside Geiszler. He is a highly professional, modest, and phlegmatic introvert, rarely leaving the labs. Very stereotypical tweed-wearing Englishman. His partnership with Dr. Hermann Gottlieb often serves as a source of humor and comic relief.

Tendo Choi: A Jaeger technician of Chinese and South American descent. Can be described as "the brain" behind the contemporary Jaegers and helps oversee their maintenance.

Yancy Becket: Raleigh's older brother and co-pilot. Died during their battle to defend Anchorage, Alaska. His death haunts his brother.

Chuck Hansen: An Australian Jaeger pilot considered the finest soldier currently left in the Resistance. He and his father pilot Striker Eureka, "the strongest and the fastest" Jaeger with twenty three Kaiju kills, and make up the Resistance's "go-to team".

Hercules "Herc" Hansen: Chuck's father and co-pilot.

Max: Chuck and Herc's pet bulldog. The goodest of boys. Herc and Chuck have difficulty communicating, and so they communicate via the dog, and all the love they can't show each other is instead shown to the dog.

Additional Jaeger pilots include: the Wei Tang triplets(China), Sasha and Alexei Kaidanovsky(Russia), and others from other source material.
I'm kind of picturing it a bit like Evangelion before Evangelion, in terms of it's general tone, although I think the key difference here is that Pacific Rim will carry a more "cautiously optimistic" tone and message at the end of it all, which to my understanding, is something not present in Evangelion, which carries a more a nihilistic tone as far as I know. I don't know, I haven't watched anything past episode 2.

Many of the characters, mechs, kaiju from throughout the OTL franchise will be included at various points. Including those present in the rest of the Pacific Rim film, those present in the sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising, as well as those present in Pacific Rim: The Black.

There will be no actual romance between Mori and Raleigh. While it will be teased for that sweet, sweet ship bait, they will simply share an incredibly strong connection with one another but possess no romantic relationship. Platonic Life Partners.

The cities have erected giant sea walls much earlier than in the films. Mostly doing this for the awesome aesthetic.

The interdimensional portal at the bottom of ocean will be kept and will be used later in the story for a similar ending as to the film, despite how stupid I think it is, it just won't be knowledge they possess from the beginning like in the film.

Ages of Mako and Raleigh are slightly changed(maybe? I don't actually know their canon ages) to be a bit younger. Mako is late teens(18-19) to early twenties(20-23), and Raleigh is mid twenties to early thirties.

There will be deaths. Lots of deaths....
The story still generally follows the plot and events of the first film, it's just greatly extended over a longer period of time in order to fit a tv show format and a lot of addition content in between not from OTL to fit it's format.

Pentecost will not be Mako's adopted father, because I just don't like it, but they still maintain a father-daughter dynamic, it's simply surrogate instead.

Some of the Jaeger pilots, though not all or even most, are raised from young ages to become pilots.

The themes of the series are taken directly from the OTL product and can be found on the wikipedia page

I also found some absolutely gorgeous and amazing fanart, particularly of Mako, if you guys would like me to share some specific ones. You can also look through them yourself here

Romania, oh sweet Romania.
Reward: John is back...but it will take time for him to fully recover. He has delayed the production of Red Dawn. For a time.
Think it's time (next turn), to revisit Project Lighthouse, for a much more focused aid to the Romanian Refugees.
--[X] Create a charitable organization called Project Lighthouse, dedicated to providing aid in refugees in resettlement and essential medical aid and living necessities during the transition. For the near future, focus primarily on the Indochinese Refugee Crisis and the plight of the Vietnamese Boat People. $100 Million Rolled:D100 => 97
Dave thought for near a minute and then sighed,
I should mention, his writing started as a way to help battle his addictions and but the rest of it, looking to friends and family, is spot on to how he's stayed on the straight and narrow, is spot on.

Sometimes it's also just something as simple as distance from their loved ones/those that cause them to seek out others to pursue their infidelity or even just simple temptation.
When you "fall to temptation" and pursue infidelity after just a year of marriage maybe getting married was a bad idea in the first place. Nor does it make that action any better in fact even worse.

the chances of him rescueing her, smuggling her out of Romania was already slim so engaging in infidelity while stringing a girl along with promises of making her dreams come true to be the next carrie fisher is messy to say the least. Which makes the infidelity, which is already bad enough as it is, so much worse.

I agree, but that doesn't change that it happens.

From what I read on wikipedia, it seemed like he got married then divorced in 1978, only to get married and divorced within the same year, which partially adds to his willingness to abandon everything and go to Romania and get involved in a fling. If he was still married to his second wife instead of divorcing her in 1978, I'll change it to a friendship.

Considering the second marriage lasted long enough for them to have a kid Celia Kaye - Wikipedia

Also side note, kind of don't know how to feel how the only thing about my omake was my side comment about that whole infidelity thing that managed to linger on everyone's mind appearently :(

Sorry about that. You did good work, I just have had literally no sleep since about 8:00 yesterday morning. I couldn't sleep because I had to rush some assignments and then I had to stay awake to make sure I wouldn't miss a zoom meeting I had. I fell asleep when I only had to wait 30 more minutes till the meeting started and missed it by an hour, despite my alarms on my phone and computer. I'm not really able to give full consideration to your work right now, but it was fine enough work when I saw it earlier. Now excuse me as I try and handle some of my fuckups and other business before passing out and getting some well needed sleep.

Okay, I changed it from romance to friendship. I never really wanted John to have cheated canonically, I just thought he was recently divorced for a second time and one thing lead to another in war. To be honest, I originally wanted like half of the Omake to be snippets of John interviewing Romanians and taking documentary footage of their life, but it was a bit hard to play out and I was kind of rushing things to cross the finish line and get that autopass before Magoose posted. Red Twilight isn't my best work because of it, and it looks like I kind of didn't need it with the 67.

Batman:

Written by: Mike Barr, Frank Miller
Produced by: Kathleen Kennedy
Production/Distribution: Colombia Pictures
Starring: Bruce O'Brian, Clint Eastwood, Alec Guinness, Faye Dunaway, John Travolta, Robert Redford, David Ogden Stiers.

Film Quality:D100 + 400 => 459

Audience:D100 + 300 => 392
Critics:D100 + 300 => 383

Budget: 20 million
Domestic Profit: 715,181,052
International Profit: 345,201,472
Total Gross: 1,060,382,524
Merchendising: 698,576,728

Bruce's Profits (5% of Gross):53,019,126

Well… The Editors hadn't fucked your vision, and that you could claim, was a good thing. That was all you really felt like. That was what Kathleen told you, and despite reservations, you were starting to trust her word. She wasn't the worst person in this town, you, realized, and it was going to be nice to have someone you could trust that didn't work for you.

But it was really strange for you and Carrie not to be joined at the Red Carpet by Mike Eisner or anyone else from Lucasfilms, or even friends that you invited to the premiere because this was a Colombia picture. And there were different rules.

At that moment, Carrie placed a hand on your own, sensing your nervousness. "You know Alan isn't forcing you to come?"

"Yeah, but what kind of movie star would I be if I just bailed on responsibilities?" you asked.

"My husband." She said, with a smile rising on her face. "The Enigmatic Bruce the Goose? The Man I love."

You knew she was trying to cheer you up, but it was still causing you to feel the jitters as the limo was slowly pulling towards the theater. "Last chance?" She said.

"We're going." It was strange to be on the other side of the nervousness. Usually, Carrie was the one who was really nervous going to the premiere. But it seems you were the one that would be this time. This was the second film you had ever directed, after the somewhat… personal failure of Five Dates.

Not that it wasn't a financial success, but you were very much not happy with how people treated it. Not caring for the story it told, and that infuriated you.

Yet you sighed, and you smiled. "Well lets go." The door opened and you left first and helped Carrie out of the Limo.

You could not ignore the media that was taking so many pictures of you and Carrie that it was almost blinding with the number of flashes, you waved, and Carrie held you close because she knew you were about to bolt away into the theater. "Just smile." She said. "Just like we practiced."

"Easy for you to say?" You replied. "I hate this. Always have."

"Well, you just need to get used to it. Star Wars is going to get worse." She stated. "Are you ever going to tell me about what James was talking about? What Secret?"

You rolled your eyes. This again? Oh, you should not have asked George, now you were going to be carrying the burden for almost another year.

Damn, your curiosity. "Ask George." You said. "I'm sworn to secrecy."

Carrie huffed. "Great."

You saw Clint signing autographs and he turned to see you and Carrie. "Oh, seems the love birds have finally arrived?" He smiled as he handed over the pen and photo, as more camera flashes went off. "Have a good time?"

"Not really, I can't stand this. I'm only here because Alan asked." You replied.

"Honestly kid, if you haven't gotten used to it after nearly ten years in show biz, you have a big problem." He smiled and pointed to a cameraman and they snapped the picture. "It's not like these assholes are breaking into your house like that one paper did. You have to provide them with what they need. If you weren't such a recluse, you'd been left alone."

"I'm not a recluse!" You protested.

"Kid, you hardly do anything substantial for media and promoting your films besides the bare basics, you don't do interviews well, and you really are buried in work or your humanitarian work. You are a recluse in the eyes of Hollywood."

You shrugged. "Yeah, but I hate the media, and they hate me, the feelings should remain mutual."

"That is where you are wrong. The Media can tear the film to shreds, even if it's the best film of all time because they can and will affect how things can be perceived." Clint smiled. "Just remember that. And try to learn from it."

You shrugged. "Great."
-----------------------------------------------
Audience:D100 + 300 => 392

Electrifying, that was the Audience's reaction to Batman. You were really proud of yourself for how you managed to handle Batman's detective work with the camera, using it to act as a vision of how Batman operates, the slow zooms, the quick fade-outs… well it was perfect and new.

And the people liked it.

To say that America finally had its own version of the great Detective, was an understatement. They called Batman the Superior to Sherlock Holmes and accepted him as the greatest fictional detective.

But what you really noticed was how the comic book writer who was also the screenwriter of it felt. Frank Miller was a young writer who only finished the script when a few others failed too, and after it was almost ruined by…

He who should not be named.

But what made you happy was that he was now working at Marvel now… and turned into a sort of protegee to Stan Lee… or something, you didn't know, but he was soon about to take over the daredevil book. Something that you were very happy about.

But the big surprise was Kathleen. She was finally getting the recognition she deserved, but instead of basking in the Praise like you expected her to… all she did was heap praise onto you, and every one of the crew. Saying. "I just managed to get the ball rolling, I don't have the talent that everyone on set had."

It was… strange to hear that. It was like she knew her role… and was happy in it.

But she was also making boatloads of money, so you suspected that she was also trying to keep you and Alan Happy.

But what was surprising was the near-unanimous praise coming towards Clint… After making his name as a cowboy, detective, and only anti-hero… hit a home run as the only good cop in Gotham. It was like he took all the lessons he learned and threw them in the trash, and it made him far more compelling than he had had any right to be.
-----------------------------
Critics:D100 + 300 => 383

Yet what surprised you the most was the Critics. There was no universal praise of you. Some even called your Batman boring, a carbon mock-up of Conan's stoic masterclass. The action was as always excellent but always seemed second fiddle. This was not just Batman's story.

Yet they said your portrayal of Bruce Wayne was… captivating, Shakespearean, finding ways to grant depth, with only twenty minutes to the man behind Batman more depth than nearly 50 years of comics ever gave him.

Yet instead, you focused on the direction, where you really wanted to see what they had to say... That was what they said and took you off guard.

Excellence.

Even Ebert had finally granted you the credit you deserved. "The Film wastes not a single frame, trying to create an air of mystery, for Batman to solve, and that comes from the brilliant direction of Bruce O'Brian, who finally learned a thing or two in his time in Hollywood and from the masters he works with."

And that was all you wanted to hear.

Finally. Respect as a Director.

AN: Enjoy.

Glad people, critics and audience alike, liked the Batman movie, especially the direction. Is it time to rename this as 'Actor and Director' quest? ;)

Is there no cultural roll for this movie, or will that come later?

And once more, we show why we're the superior choice for Comic Book movies! Frank Miller gogin to Marvel (and being the one who wrote the script) is just the cherry on top!

Goddamn, we made so far the best adaptation of the Caped Crusader, and from what Magoose mentioned before, changed Batman Mythos and upgraded one of his old gallery of rogues ahead of time. Deadshot is sure to become one of the heavy hitters in the future.

Wait, @Magoose , what have been the fans reactions to this version of Batman? Most of the comic fans hated the Adam West adaptation for how they turned Batman into a joke (in their opinion), but an entire generation grew with that as their only adaptation of him. What are the thoughts/opinions of them?
