Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Wanna know something funny…

With Superman being K.Ks first film producing, she might not be seen in a very good light, seeing as Superman is one of the biggest names in fiction and it would always make some type of profit.

Meaning she will actually have to prove her self if she wants to remain in the game. And we all know that she is not as capable as she thinks she is.

Oh I am so excited to see if she can because honestly it would funny as fuck if she actually has a decent career.

That...doesn't really seem right to me. Sure, it was likely to make a profit, but you also mentioned how badly the logistics for the film were and how she managed to solve the issues of the film despite having to spend a lot. This is also still a very necessary win for the studio regardless. It seems very strange to me that her achievement here would be so readily discounted. Sure, it was likely to make money and she used more money than necessary, but she still made the film happen and solved a lot of the problems despite it being her first production. I just don't see her, as you say, "not being seen in a very good light," just not a knock-out success like others in Hollywood are managing to accomplish right now.

It's less it is going to be discounted and more…

Other people will want to steal her work and credit.

Dang. I actually feel bad for Kathleen here. Getting your credit stolen is never a fun thing, especially in the related case of Bill Finger with Batman.

It might be me just not being as big of a nerd of most media that Kathleen has touched, but I honestly want her to do well here and actually grow as an artist and stuff. She hasn't done all the stupid stuff she did in OTL, and I think she could go down a better path here.

The Heart of the Cards
The Heart of the Cards:

As soon as he picked up his guitar, Bruce felt a surge of emotion coursing through his veins. He had been carrying a heavy burden of pain, both old and new, for far too long. But now, as he began to play, he knew that he had found the perfect outlet to pour all of his emotions into.

At first, the tempo was slow and mournful. The man's fingers moved hesitantly at first, but then with increasing confidence and purpose, as his guitar began to sing a story of heartbreak and loss. The notes were heavy with the weight of his pain, each one carrying a piece of his soul as he poured it all out through his instrument. But as he played, something changed within him. The music began to take on a life of its own, and he found himself lost in the melody, slipping free from self and becoming one with the song. His fingers moved faster and faster, the tempo picking up pace until it was a blur of movement. The pain was still there, but now it was mixed with a fierce determination and a burning passion that he had never felt before.

The man's fingers flew over the strings, the notes ringing out with a clarity and power that he had never achieved before. He played with a ferocity that was both beautiful and terrifying, and the music seemed to fill the room, suffusing every corner with its raw energy. As the crescendo built to its peak, the man closed his eyes and let himself be consumed by the music. It was like nothing else existed in the world except for him and his guitar. The pain was still there, but it was no longer a burden weighing him down. Instead, it was a fuel that powered him forward, driving him to new heights of creativity and expression.

And then, as suddenly as it had begun, the music came to a close. The final notes hung in the air, a haunting echo of the journey that the man had just taken. For a moment, he sat there, breathless and spent, lost in the beauty of what he had just created. But then, slowly, Bruce opened his eyes, coming back into himself in the process, and looked around the room. He wasn't sure when the others had walked in, and so for but a moment grew bashful at their presence...and then registered the sheer joy, ambition and pride his music had created within them.

But all he had eyes for, beyond the presence of friends and family, even ignoring the sheer talent of Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson being in the same room, was his wife. In Carrie's eyes, he saw a spark of everything that had gone spoken and unspoken between them, reflected in her tears of joy. It was then he knew, in that moment, that he had done something truly special. He had taken his pain and turned it into something beautiful, something that could touch the hearts of others and bring them joy.

And so, with a smile on his face, Bruce picked up his guitar once more and began to play again, the others joining in for the pure fun of it all. This time, the music was lighter, more joyful, filled with hope and possibility. And as he played, he knew that no matter what the future held, he would always have his music to turn to, to help him through the hard times and celebrate the good.

A/N: For the love of music everywhere, let the Ainulindalë grow ever greater.

Five Dates Synopsis
Five Dates Synopsis

In a comedy club and lounge, Walter Riely is a rising comedian who is struggling to deliver a standup routine. Many of Walter's jokes seem to fall flat to the audience with disinterest or just mild amusement, one audience member consistently laughs at the material throughout the performanc, a stunningly beautiful young woman sitting in the center of the audience. After the show ends, Walter has a brief conversation with his two best friends, fellow comedian Sean (Williams) and waiter working at the club Jack (Jackson). The two cheer up Walter and push him to gain the courage to approach the mysterious woman.

Walter approaches the woman at her table who introduces herself as Jasmine Tate a musician. Walter is initially anxious, believing that Jasmine could not possibly find his act interesting or be into him, but the comfort and excitement of the conversation put the two at ease. Walter continually makes Jasmine laugh and presents himself as a charming and fun man while Jasmine is very sweet and intellegent. The two continue to talk until the club closes, leading Walter to ask Jasmine out on a proper date, to which she agrees.

The movie then shifts to the two at their respective homes and going about their daily routines. Jasmine is the daughter of a famous performer from the 50's Roger Tate who is divorced with Jasmine living in a mansion with her father and older brother Fred. Walter lives in a modest home with his working mother Mary Riely who is a widower whose husband died in Vietnam. Both share of their previous nights experiences and coming dates. Mary is excited and heavily supportive of Walter while Roger is heavily cautious and concerned that Walter as a struggling performer would use her for her name, but trusts Jasmine enough to handle the date on her own while Fred is distrusting. Back at Walter's house, both Sean and Jack drop by and are excited for Walter that he is going to go on a date with Jasmine. Sean asks for the date to happen during his comedy night where he'll be sure to give a good show while Jack promises to provide support.

The first date comes with Walter at first doing his best to act formal and gentlemanly though Jasmine requests that they just have a nice and relaxing time. The two converse and learn extensively of each other's lives, likes and aspirations with Jasmine confiding that she wishes to be a singer while Walter wants to either be a famous comedian or get a part in movies and shows. Remembering her father's words, Jasmine is at first apprehensive, but when she reveals that she is Roger Tate's daughter, Walter surprises her by acting nonchalant, saying that he was always more of a fan of Elvis and he prefers to earn his career through actions, not through handout, something that assures Jasmine. Sean performs and gives a rather riotous comedic act that enthralls the audience. Walter is fearful that Jasmine may find Sean funnier, but while she does enjoy his performance, her laughter and excitement is not as strong as with Walter's with her stating that she prefers his style of comedy.

Meanwhile, Fred has snuck into the club and is attempting to spy on the couple to make sure that Walter is treating Jasmine right. This is noticed by Jack who engages in a cat and mouse chase with Fred, attempting to kick the man out to give his best friend and his date some peace. Jack then reveals that he's Jasmine's brother and trying to look out for her, with Jack assuring Fred that Walter is a good man and would be a great fit for Jasmine, something that Fred sees by how happy and comfortable Jasmine is around him for the date. Both Jasmine and Walter continue to have a pleasant dinner and then walk through a nearby park. Both are heavily interested in one another with strong chemistry, although attempts to escalate to romance by both result in akward missteps and fumbles that creates doubt on how strong their connection is. Still, both agree that the date is pleasant and agree to meet for another one.

The second date at Jasmine's request takes place at a roller rink where Jasmine hopes the two can have some simple fun and be intimate. Unfortunately for the two, Walter is very inexperienced and has a poor time attempting to perform basic skating. However, Jasmine doesn't mind his lack of skill and tries to teach him, with some minor fun being had but Walter unable to learn how to skate, leaving him embarassed. Attempting to salvage the date, Jasmine suggests the two head to a nearby record store and cafe where she shares her love of music and plays a song, engaging Walter and increaisng his interest in her. Unfortunately, as the couple's attraction is growing, they are interrupted by Walter's friends and Jasmine's brother who attempt to egg them on into a super romantic setting to fall in love with one another. The constant interference and discomfort from earlier in the night pushes Walter to call the date off and see Jasmine home. Jasmine is upset, but offers her phone number to Walter in case they want to continue.

The next day the two confront the schemers who all apologize and explain that they acted out of concern, Sean and Jack because of Walter's extensive and messy history of romantic failures and Fred because Walter is Jasmine's first relationship. The two then seek advice from their parents on what to do with Walter scared of losing Jasmine due to witnessing his mom be a widow for years while Jasmine is fearful of being hurt due to her mother leaving her family. Both parents help their children move past their fears and insecurities and give gentle pushes to continue to try dating and see how it goes. Walter calls Jasmine and asks her out on a beach date.

At the beach both Walter and Jasmine show clear signs of heavy physical attraction to one another and without the interference of their friends and family, having a fun and enjoyable date. However, the couple enjoy each other most when engaging in simple and platonic activities, making both wonder if they like each other more as friends than romantically. At the end of the date, Walter tries to kiss Jasmine who fearing it's too soon does not reciprocate. Walter is hurt but understands and respects Jasmine's wishes, with Jasmine making it clear that she does like Walter and has fun with him, but that she's unsure if she "like likes" him, to which Walter agrees in a shared sentiment.

The two both agree to take some time apart from each other to not feel under pressure and cool off, but it is clear to those closest to them that not spending time with another is making them sad and miserable. Sean, Jack and Fred conspire together to push them into having a totally romantic date to see if they want to both enter into full romance. With some nudging, the two both admit that they do like the other one greatly and want there to be something more, and arrange for another date. Walter goes to Jasmine's home to pick her up for the date and has a conversation with her father as she gets ready, with Roger giving his personal approval. The date starts off with a romantic picnic personally prepared by Walter, with the couple then going to the Griffith Observatory at Jasmine's suggestion, and ending the night with the pair dancing. Throughout the date the two not only have fun but grow very intimate and increase in their admiration and affection for one another. The date ends with the two engaging in a slow dance, where they both mutually confess their love for one another and agree to become boyfriend and girlfriend.

After some time in their relationship, Jasmine visits Walter's home and meets his mother for the first time, with Jasmine having a great time with the Rielys and showing a song that Walter helped her write, with Mary humorously telling Walter that he picked a good daughter for her. The couple then go to the comedy club where Walter is performing, this time with high confidence and support from Jasmine who helps him with developing new material, has an outstanding act that has the entire audience laughing. Walter then passes the mic to Sean so he can have a romantic dinner with Jasmine, the two acting very much in love. The film ends on Walter and Jasmine having their first kiss, both eager to see where the relationship goes.

Five Dates Interview
Five Dates Interview

"Good evening Houston, my name is Allen Ross from KHOU and with me today are esteemed Oscar-award winners Bruce and Carrie O'Brian. You may have fallen in love with them recent as the dashing scoundrel Han Solo and the fierce and beautiful princess Leia but next week you shall see the two fall in love as Walter Riely and Jasmine Tate in Lucasfilm's most recent film, Five Dates, written by Carrie and directed by Bruce, starring both."

The two O'Brians smiled and held hands tightly as they sat across the interviewer, conducting one of many rounds of interviews that they had done recently in their press round robin. To make up for Mark having done the heavy lifting of Star Wars' promotion, both O'Brians agreed to make an active effort at promoting Five Dates, the two having spoken to nearly every major news network in the Anglosphere and a few interviews in Japanese and Mandarin with Bruce acting as translator. While the constant talks could be a slog, both Bruce and Carrie were simply happy to spend time with one another and there was a certain joy they shared in advertising their first shared creation.

"So starting off with Carrie, what motivated you to write a romance movie after having won an Oscar with Some Nights, the groundbreaking musical, drama and satire?" Allen asked.

"Well, to put it simply, I was a bit frustrated with the state of Hollywood romance." Carrie answered.

"Oh, any particular movies that you see as bad?" Allen asked.

Carrie shook her head, "It's not like I was offended by a specific film or actors, it's just that after Some Nights I started to notice that a lot of movies either focused on a hot and passionate chase between the two lovebirds and they only get together at the end, or their relationship is just a tool for the story to create conflict in the drama and greater narrative, which I have to admit I'm partially guilty of with Some Nights. I wanted to write a sort of realistic love story where two people meet and you see a slow build of their relationship and how they grow closer over many dates instead of just instant attraction or two hours of pining and yearning."

"With Bruce as your co-star was there any inspiration in writing from your relationship?"

Carrie hummed in thought for a few seconds, not sure how much she should admit. "Well there are some similarities in spirit that many who know us might catch on, but I'd say that Walter and Jasmine are their own two people and we both did our best to play two distinct people who I think many watching can relate to."

"As husband and wife, can it be difficult to act alongside each other in roles where your characters aren't already deeply in love?"

"Yes." "No." Carrie and Bruce answered respectively, causing them and Allen to laugh at the misanswer.

Carrie nudged Bruce to first respond. "Well there's never been a point either with Five Dates or Star Wars that we literally couldn't maintain our roles and act. Carrie is an absolutely amazing actress and she'll always give the best performance possible no matter what she's asked. The problem is that there are a few moments where she does an absolutely beautiful and stunning performance that I'm just completely enraptured and either freeze for a moment or just feel very happy that I'm acting alongside my wife." Bruce says, with Carrie beaming at him heavily for the praise.

"Well Bruce isn't alone, I'd say that I cause more cuts than him. The first day we both filmed a scene together in Star Wars you had Leia be very agitated with Han and the two having their personalities clash but I just kept on smiling and affectionate when they're trying to escape from the Death Star. As time goes on we do sort of find our rhythm with the characters and really just insert ourselves into them as separate from who we are as husband and wife. That's part of what makes Five Dates such a joy to work on because we could be both super romantic and in character. In fact, we filmed the movie in last February and to make up for working on Valentine's, Bruce made sure to save the most romantic scenes for that day so he could be romantic on camera." Carrie gushed.

"Well it's the least she deserves." Bruce answered, with the two sharing a quick kiss.

"Bruce, with this being your directorial debut, what was it like to sit in the chair for a major motion picture? Any major difficulties?" Allen asked

"Well at first when Carrie presented me the script, she requested that I be the Director and at first I was heavily against it because I didn't want to mess it up when Carrie deserves the best for her movies."

"And I did get the best from you." Carrie reminded, with Bruce smiling at her in gratitude.

"As you can see, she was very persistent so eventually I agreed , after all happy wife, happy life." Bruce joked. "The first day I was a bit nervous but as we wrapped up shooting for day one, I kind of got used to responsibility and understood what kind of film we were going for, so aside from some minor difficulty in the cinematography it was mostly smooth sailing."

"Would you say your previous experiences directing in MASH helped you with preparation for directing and who would you say inspired you the most in style?"

"Oh I definitely wouldn't have attempted any directing in a film if it wasn't for MASH. Radar's Report and Rainbow Bridge helped give me tremendously valuable experience and helped for the basis of sort of my non-action style. The Olympiad also helped in giving me director experience over such a large production. For inspirations, my first would be George Lucas. I learned so much from him as First Assistant Director on Star Wars and I'd say that George instruction sort of formed the foundation for everything that I know and my strengths behind the camera. Although, it was actually American Graffiti that I looked to for direct inspiration on the film, as Graffiti was primarily focused on the relationships between the cast, and that sort of grounded and relatable storytelling what something I pursued with Five Dates."

"As the main star of the film alongside Carrie, how did you manage to direct the movie when presumably most of the time you have to be in front of the camera?" Allen asked.

"Well it can be a difficult process, but basically it involves a lot of trust and communication between myself and my first assistant director and cinematographer, who for this film were the heavily talented Gary White and Gilbert Taylor respectively. When we shoot the scenes, I direct the other actors and tell them how they perform in the scene along with discussing with Gilbert how the shots will be performed. When we're filming a scene that I am in, Gary sort of handles the set and make sure every part goes smoothly while also supervising the little details while I focus on the big picture. With Gilbert I handed him a lot of freedom after we both came to agreement on a style and location of shot. If something goes wrong that I don't notice, Gary calls cut and we talk about what went wrong, and during lunch breaks and at the end of the day I'll go over the footage and see what we did right and wrong, and either move forward or do more takes with new instructions."

"Within the cast there are many interesting selections. You have yourselves playing as the main couple, Mark Hamill returning to costar after playing as Luke Skywalker, Michael Jackson making his film debut, but most intriguing of all is the casting of both your parents, Debbie Reynolds and Bruce's father Joseph O'Brian as the parents of their in-laws. How did such a casting call come to be?" Allen questioned.

"Well, when we talked about who we were going to cast, we were mainly focusing on making a simple and fun movie with people we were close to. Bruce was very insistent from the start that only Mom could play his mother Mary Riley."

"I've wanted act alongside Debbie for a couple of years which started after I grew close with Carrie's family before our marriage, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so and by that point I already considered Debbie to be a second mother so it was pretty natural, and Debbie did absolutely wonderful, another perfect Reynolds performance." Bruce complimented.

"With Bruce so insistent that Mom be in the movie, that got me thinking that we should cast Joseph as my father. While a lot of articles say that it's his first time acting, Joseph is actually a Hollywood veteran as he did a lot of minor roles in the 50's and was even in multiple episodes of Rawhide with Clint Eastwood. I really wanted to help give him a movie role that he deserved and honestly there isn't any other man in Hollywood who I would consider to be my father. Joseph was such a delight to work with and he was great from start to finish."

"And how was the King of Pop's film debut?" Allen pressed.

"I was actually very surprised. I knew that Michael had some talent with years of being a performer, but the way he acted you would think that he was a veteran with years of experience in tvs and film. Did an excellent job with every performance, hardly gave any reasons for another take and he had great chemistry with myself, Carrie and others." Bruce said.

"Something tells me we'll see a good number of films in the future staring Michael Jackson and I think Hollywood is all the better for it." Carrie agreed.

"Lastly to finish off our interview, after two years of marriage and starring in two films, what would you like to share with the viewers at home on what you believe to be the keys to a good relationship?" Allen asked.

"Well I think what's most important no matter at what stage of a relationship or how you feel about one another is respect and communication. It doesn't matter if you had the most romantic meeting, if you're both drop dead gorgeous or there's heavy passion in the air, if you don't have those two you're not gonna have a happy ending. Without respect than you'll never be true equals in life or love and without communication then you won't be able to meet any challenges in a healthy manner and what should be simple misunderstandings will lead to great rifts. Bruce and I promised to have both early on and no matter what life threw at us, we've always emerged stronger through it." Carrie emphasized.

"In addition to the completely true words of my lovely wife, something that I want to share for couples who feel pressured to act or be one way is to go at your own pace and act in a relationship what makes you both comfortable and loving. Often times I'll have fans approach me and ask how they can have a relationship like mine and Carrie or they want theirs to be just like our marriage. I think that's the wrong mindset to have because in trying to be like us, they'll miss what makes their relationship special or wonderful and you can't fall in love with that special someone if you're trying to copy someone else and who they love. I know couples who have very different dynamics than us but they're still just as in love as we are. That doesn't mean you should never take advice or inspiration, but you have to remember at the end of the day who you fell in love with, why, and that they love you for who you are and that's all that matters."

"Very well said. That's all the time we have here today, be sure to head to the theaters next Friday and get your ticket for Five Dates, written, directed by and starring the O'Brians."

Don't feel too bad though. I have a feeling she'll land on her feet.

She always seems to do that anyway.

Hm...

Instead of giving a usual reward, know that this will affect the results of one of the actions this turn... most notably, with the Guitar Hero, Brian May.

It will be good I promise that though.

Expect something involving Queen to be great.
What does Sony think we are, some dying indie company?
No, Sony views you as the most potent force in Hollywood, one with the most gifted talent pools in terms of directors, producers and actors in Hollywood.

Basically, they were trying to buy the best, so they could milk us for every damn cent we are worth, and then replace us.
DAWW! I gave you that paragraph of the film and did not expect this!

This is cute

Another Reward For you.

[]And Then People Fell In Love Again (Unkown Effect)
[]Bruce Recives Praise (Bruce might get Best Director Nods for this film)
[]Bruce Learns something (Bruce gains +2 to Directing Skill)
I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this contradicts one of your previous omakes about Star Wars
I say its something to throw off the interviewer and as an inside joke between Carrie and Bruce.

[]THe audience Fell in Love! (+20 to Audience Rolls)
As tempted as I am to push Five Dates to become the highest grossing film and thus continue the Carrie streak, with its current x4 modifier it should have a great financial performance and we don't have a lot of audience modifiers.

[]Bruce Learns something (Bruce gains +2 to Directing Skill)

Get Bruce's directing skill up to help for us directing Empire.

As tempted as I am to push Five Dates to become the highest grossing film and thus continue the Carrie streak, with its current x4 modifier it should have a great financial performance and we don't have a lot of audience modifiers.
Honestly, you would not be able to make it the highest-grossing film... without doing that twice, and even then.

But it might make lots of money.
Get Bruce's directing skill up to help for us directing Empire.
Hey we're almost at 50... meaning we're getting close...

-[X]The Problems with Conan: Um… Steve, what happened? I thought you were ready to get going to work on… wait what's that? Why did Universal send a cease and desist letter to you? DC: 30 Rolled: D100 => 100

Steve was distraught as he was sitting in his office, trying his best to not cry tears of agony. There was a letter on his desk, and you could tell that it was going to be the thing that was bothering him. "Steve, you okay?"

Steve just gave a small nod. "I can't believe I was so stupid!" he screamed before you took a breath.

You examined the letter. From Universal. "What the fuck is this, a Cease and Desist letter?" You set it down and looked at Steve. "But Jaws was the last film that was on your contract, we saw and everything."

Steve just took a breath. "The personal picture clause."

"What?" you asked.

"Sid put in a picture clause into my contract, that I could make any film I wanted after Jaws. He suspected that I wanted to make Clsoe encounters after I made Jaws." he took a breath. "The reason he didn't try to stop me was because I owned the rights to it, and if he tried to stop me, he would be violating the Directors Guild's rules for independent films."

"But you made it with us." You stated, realizing what he was saying.

"According to his lawyers, if I continued on Conan, it would be in violation of our contract… one that I had assumed was already done with."

"We need to talk to Mike, and get the Legal team on this, we can't give up." You said with conviction.

"I screwed up-" Steve cried, but you put a hand on his shoulder.

"No, you did not. You just got caught in a trap, but we have some good news on that front, the only one who's better at laying traps than Sid Shineburg… is Mike Eisner."
------------------------------------------------------

Sid Shienburg was not happy when Mike was smiling at him, and bringing you with him to the whole… meeting that was arranged. "I'm surprised you returned my call. And set this meeting up." Sid stated, trying his best to remain in control.

Mike just kept smiling. "Oh you know, I'm all for making sure that I'm listened to… unlike your predecessor."

"Get to the point Mike, and why did you bring Bruce into this, we're men here, there is no need for him to be sulking about."

"Oh, Bruce is precisely why I am here. I read Steve's contract, the original that was signed all those years ago." Mike smiled. "I almost lost hope, you and your time were truly the best in the biz… But…"

Sid paled. "But what?"

"The personal picture clause you are invoking was invalidated after the strike, and even the language of all the updated contracts would know that.." And you saw the carefully laid plans and ideas of Sid slowly whittle away. "Part of the deal made by the directors and actors was that they would be allowed to seek outside funding for any project that had the Personal picture clause, as you call it… Well, was circumvented by him getting funding from Bruce, not Lucasfilms itself."

"But Bruce-"

"May not be part of the producers guild on paper, but he follows all the rules, especially since Close Encounters was owned by Steven and not Universal. Meaning once his signature was on the page, it was a Bruce O'Brian picture, not a Lucasfilms one. That bit of legal finagling has already been dealt with."

At that, Sid almost laughed. And you were struggling to see what was so funny. Before Sid just said. "Well damn, the legendary Mike Eisner showing off his skills yet again. You know the funny thing is, I fired the men who ignored your calls… called them the biggest fools in all of Hollywood, letting the greatest talent who might ever work in this town walk away."

"You're not ignoring me now Sid." Mike smiled. "Especially when the papers get wind of this."

"Your damn right I'm not." He replied. "Though next time, leave the Goose for his wife… lord knows he's happier with her than us. I'm sure our battles would be better if he was not involved."

"I'm sure he's just fine where he is."

Reward: Steve's contract was over, and as it turns out, Sid trying to stop him has caused some grave ramifications that is not known to you.

But something tells you that Mike is clearly not screwing around.

Steve will happily continue the work on Conan, without any delay.

-[X]Five Dates: Well it's time for you and Carrie to be placed on a wonderful red carpet again, for your directorial Debut... for a film that is. DC: 0 Rolled: D100 => 97

You maybe want to call Mike, and owe him an apology…

His team does wonders.

(Continued in 5 Dates)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]The Sony Arrogance: Mike Eisner looked at the Sony Representative and smiled. "Bruce, I need your help. I need you to tell this fine piece of refuse, that we are not for sale." DC: 0 Rolled:D100 => 86

It was quite a sight to see Mike in full control. "The offer we offer is quite a thing. Half a billion dollars for Lucasfilms and another half a billion dollars for Dreamworks Animation. Would make you and Lucas and O'Brian very wealthy men, who would never need to work again. You would be fools to not accept." The Japanese were crisp and clean, and you were translating it with ease.

Mike smiled. "Bruce, explain this to the gentlemen."

You nodded. "With or without embellishments."

"Without, I want him to know exactly what I am saying." He said.

You should never get on Mike's Bad side.

"You must think that money is something that can purchase many things. A franchise, a company, a thing. But I do not see it that way. To build something is to see it constructed in the good and bad. But are not some company that is interested in that. You want profit, in any way. And I respect that. But what I don't respect is that you can buy talent."

"We are talented, and you are not. And honestly, that tells me everything that I need to know about you and your company. So get the hell out of my office, and my company. And take your money and shove it up your ass."

Reward: Mike may be a greedy asshole, but he has principles… on occasion. And you may have infected him, as with George, with your idealism.

Sony has been thoroughly embarrassed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Good news: Carrie has some good news. DC: 0 Rolled:D100 => 82

Carrie just hugged you and smiled, and gave you a kiss. "I'm pregnant."

It was a good thing you were at home because collapsing right then was a safe thing to do.

Reward: Carrie is Pregnant. You may now celebrate.

Somewhere in New York, at the Jumping Whale… Sarah O'Brian screams in Joy.

-[X]The Queen, and Carrie: So, Queen is back in town, and they have decided, out of the blue, to stay at your house. Said that it was safer from the Paperatzi than it is anywhere else. And it is going to lead to something fun… or something. DC: 25 Rolled:D100 => 58
-[X]Off the Wall: Michael Jackson is back in town, and he has requested that he needs a place to hide out from the media because he just wants a break. Well, hopefully he dosen't mind the couch. DC: 30 Rolled:D100 => 48

A Fun Event:D100 => 97

"Freddie you brought all your band stuff, and are hiding in our mansion, for what reason?" You asked.

Freddie was smiling. "Well if you must know, our LA recording studio has been stalked out by the media, and we don't want any disturbance for this."

Brian was carrying two guitars. "Can we work in the sitting room?" He asked.

Carrie was looking at a large number of instruments. "Are you practicing here?"

"Oh no, we're recording." John Deacon said with a smile. "Thanks for letting us crash here Bruce, it's nice to know we have some friends here that aren't trying to get pictures and stuff."

You shook your head. "Time out guys… why are you wanting to record here anyway, the acoustics are crap, we have no real equipment to speak of, and we're in a neighborhood that does not like this stuff."

"It was Mike's Idea, everyone knows that the Paparazzi don't come to Bruce O'Brian's neighborhood if they don't want to get sued." Freddie said.

Then you saw Michel Jackson come out of the van, with a keyboard in hand. "Oh hey Bruce, what's up?"

You were so frustrated. "You volunteered my home to be a recording studio!" You were exasperated, and trying your best to not sound too angry. But it was too late.

"Yeah, sorry bout that. But it was a last-minute thing. I really didn't know where else to go." He stated. "Also it was the safest place I could think of."

That set off alarm bells. "What do you mean safe?" you asked.

"My producers and my father are in time, and I don't really want to see them right now." He said. "Plus Freddie is wanting to do something really fun!"

Carrie then nodded "You can stay as long as you want."

"Carrie." You did not approve of this.

"Stay as long as you want." She said with a smile. And a statement that she was in charge.
--------------------------------------------------

You then looked at the guitar with Brian and then you tuned it. "So… what?"

"You play?" Brian asked as you finished tuning.

"A little. Not as good as anyone else that has practice." You replied.

Brian rolled his eyes. "Well, let's hear it."

You then strummed a few chords and then Brian answered. "Come on Bruce, let's hear it!"

And you both called and responded, the hour of playing was electric and fun… and when you finished, you were sweating, feeling tired and drained.

Before you realized Freddie stopped the tape recorder. "Bloody brilliant, now Mike, you said you wanted to work on a song?"
-----------------------------------

And it turned into a three-day recording session, no one left the house, save for you picking up some food to cook dinner.

And it was fun. An absolute blast.
--------------------------------------

Reward: 45 songs were recorded in your home in those 3 days.

2 were written by Carrie and sung by you: Springtime of Ghosts, and Balled of the Jeweled Angel.

23 were done by Queen, with you, Michael, and Carrie providing background vocals.

20 songs were done by Mike, with Queen as the background band, including one duet with Carrie and himself.

Queen has an entire Album, called Mansion Rock produced thanks to you.

Mike also has tons of songs but he does not want to do anything with them.

Everyone had a great time and wants to do that again.

-[X]Your Rival: Arnold Schwarzenegger. You have no idea who this guy is… also, why does he want to rival you. Also, what the fuck is he doing, going around saying you are the only reason that things got so weird? Whatever that means. DC: 30 Rolled:D100 => 8

There was nothing you could find on this guy. He was acting yes, he was working in construction yes. Bodybuilding, the like…

But dammit… you just could find nothing on him.

"Carrie, please tell me your guys found anything on this guy?" You asked.

"Sorry Bruce, but I got nothing." She said.

Failure.

-[X]And Then There Was Robin: Robin came to you with a smile on his face. "My Dear Bruce, we need to talk to you about a friend who needs help!" What Friend is that Robin? DC: 40 Rolled: D100 => 93

You were at the Set for Superman, and felt something really scary, as you looked at Christopher Reeves, in full costume. "Chris, meet Bruce! You're Batman!"

Robin, you asshole! "Hey Robin, I did not-"

"Oh it's alright, Robin has been saying it's been a fun thing, and he jokes that you are Batman," Chris said. "Robin, what did I say about bringing people to set, it's rather upsetting."

"Well, you needed to cheer up after all the stress and work out." He said. "So I brought a friend."

You gave a smile. "Bruce O'Brian." You said.

"Christopher Reeves." He shook your hand with a smile. "So… you like it."

"Never really like Superman, always been a Batman fan myself."

"See I told you." Robin said.

"Well, I hope that things are going to be okay." He said. "Also, I hear there might be a Batman film in production…" Chris then huffed. "We might work together soon."

"I hope so." You said as the man left. "He's nice."

Reward: you have made a startling discovery and a good first impression with Christopher Reeves. Do you think Robin was planning to introduce you to him just to see your reaction to him in the suit?

Damn you Robin. So it's probably true.

But hey, there may be a Batman movie soon… maybe. Who knows?

Whatever that means.

Reward: You are now fluent in Japanese.

AN: Enjoy and good night.

That's actually a really fun name, I like it.

Movie Pitch: Red Alert: The Steel Tide
You know, I loved this series so very much growing up. I was introduced to it thanks to my uncle, who had played it before and recommended it to me, saying it was a really fun game. Well, I figured it would at least help me waste sometime during my vacations and bought it. Well, soon enough I had played all missions more times that I could count, and was soon looking for, and buying, the sequel and its expansion, which I have till this day, and loving it even more than the original. I don't know what it was; the Camp, the grounded fights, the fun acting, the story, the gameplay, or a combination of all, but in my mind, the Red Alert Series is one of the all-time greats that truly deserve to have been made into a movie or a TV Series...and it still hurts to this day knowing that there are no plans on making any more parts of the series, or at least a remake.

Red Alert 3 was not that bad...right?

Well, I liked it, enough to at least trying to write a script for it...only to falter at the half part because dear God it was going to be massive! I mean, the first game alone, if I want to do justice to it, will need at least three films to make it work (if I wanted to show the story from beginning to end of the war...and I wanted to do so!). Now, I'm thinking this movie could be done in the 80s as much of the technology and Special Effects works for the first game. Not to mention that it's only during and after the second installment that the series starts adopting a Campier tone (which I love and will encourage to adopt). I figure this could be our version of Red Dawn, only good this time...I kid of course, I enjoyed the movie back then, mostly the friendship developed between the group.

Anyways, this is the first part of a trilogy which should encompass the first game. As with the American Saga it should have some different Point of Views to better expand the story. So, I give you:

Movie Pitch:
Red Alert: The Steel Tide

GENRE: Drama/Science Fiction

SUBGENRE: Alternate History/War

FORMAT: Movie (Part 1 of 3)

Set Up: In a parallel universe, at the Trinity Site in New Mexico in 1946, Albert Einstein travelled back in time to Landsberg, Germany, on December 20, 1924, where he meets a young Adolf Hitler just after the latter's release from Landsberg Prison. Following a brief conversation between the two, Einstein shakes Hitler's hand, which erases him from the timeline. Hitler's death prevents him from rising to power as leader of Nazi Germany, effectively creating a new timeline. Without Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union (USSR) grew powerful under the rule of Joseph Stalin, who soon managed to gain huge territories in the East against both Japan and China. The Treaty of Versailles was quickly repealed to have Germany serve as a buffer as the Soviet Union increasing militarization had the League of Nations nervous. When the time was right the Soviet Union launched an invasion of Eastern Europe, to achieve Joseph Stalin's vision of a Soviet Union stretching across the entire Eurasian landmass. In response, the countries of Western Europe (including an already-rearmed Germany) formed a coalition named the Allied Nations, or "Allies" for short; the new WWII has begun.

This movie shows the moment Albert Einstein does his experiment and is transported to the new timeline in 1946, just before the invasion of Europe occurs; Different Point of Views will show the effect and changes in the new timeline as the Soviets storm through the new frontlines; Eastern Europe, the German border, Italy's quick collapse, The Athenian Massacre, and the attempted coups in England and France.

Director: Roland Emmerich
Composer: Basil Poledouris

Albert Einstein: A theoretical Physicist who made significant contributions to the Allied War Effort. An eccentric and excitable scientist, who keeps an optimistic outlook in every situation he's in. Though expecting the new timeline, he did not expect it to cause a different World War. In his role as the new Head Researcher for the German Republic, he's in charge of making new weapons that can aid in the war effort, and despite his displeasure at it he nevertheless does it due to a combination of duty and responsibility for this new war, his is the civilian perspective.

Played By: Timothy Dalton
Alternate: Christopher Walken

Colonel Gunther Von Esling: Colonel in the new armed forces of Germany. He's a dutiful man who first saw military action as a young man in the service of the Kaiser. With the restrictions from the Treaty of Versailles lifted, Esling's military career was influenced more by strategic collaboration with other European nations' due to their careful support afterwards. Gunther is a man who prefers to be in the thick of it with his men, yet is also hampered due to the decisions from the higher ups that tend to be overly cautious. His is the military perspective of the new Germany and the new German forces.

Played By: Bruce Willis
Alternate: Mel Gibson

Minister of Education Nikos Stavros: Hailing from Greece, Stavros is a very patriotic man, caring deeply about his country. He is also very competent, giving vital advice to both his superiors and subordinates. At the beginning of the war, he becomes the De Facto Head of State due to being the only survivor of a decapitation strike on the Greek government. He's forced to flee the country in the end, despite a spirited resistance, but not without seeing firsthand the "Athenian Massacre" where soviet troops executed families in their homes, burnt down houses with their inhabitants inside, teared down the historic monuments and sent dogs on hapless civilians...for Stavros, this became a personal war.

Played By: Jeff Bridges
Alternate: Paul Greco

Giuseppe Bianchi: An Italian member of the Black shirts, leader of a Coorte ("Cohort" or Battalion) for 10 years now. He's a man who knows who to flatter, as well as the kind of man who browbeats those below him. Comfortable in his sphere of influence, he is taken by surprise by the beginning of the war, while also trying to find a way to survive as the entire government collapses the moment the soviets disembark on Italy. Turns out oppressing your own people does not make them love you as Italy's population rise against Mussolini and his cronies, which includes him. His travels through land into Allied territory are fraught with peril, lies, betrayals, and cowardice, as he sees firsthand what the soviets do and just turns away.

Played By: Willem Dafoe
Alternate: Harvey Keitel

Prime Minister Winston Churchill: Member of the House of Lords, and longtime critic of the Soviet Union and the "Communist Menace", Churchill's call for British rearmament found a receptive audience which allowed for the annulment of the Treaty of Versailles and rearmament of Germany as a compromise. The growing militarization in the Soviet Union, as well as its expansion in the Pacific, made Churchill's influence grow as he called for more measure to protect the British public. He was named First Lord of the Admiralty in the years preceding the war, and Prime Minister after successfully uncovering the "Chapman Conspiracy".

Played By: Robert Hardy
Alternate: John Lithgow

General Secretary Joseph Stalin: General Secretary of the Communist Party Central Committee. Despite his formal position being originally without significant influence, and his office being nominally but one of several Central Committee Secretariats, Stalin's increasing control of the Party from 1928 onwards led to him becoming the de facto party leader and the dictator of his country. Ruthless, paranoid, and with a hunger for power and control over everything; Stalin hides his desire for all with a paternalistic persona, one that he can discard at will when the situation calls for it in order to intimidate an opponent.

Played By: Jürgen Prochnow
Alternate: Everett McGill

General Gradenko: The Director of the Russian Secret Police, Gradenko is an aide to Joseph Stalin and the man responsible for much of the USSR's internal security schemes. Although an outstanding strategist and security expert, being responsible for many of the Soviet victories in Eastern Asia, he also made a number of mistakes at the beginning of the war, among them was underestimating the German Military, and overestimating their own sabotage and Intelligence efforts among the Allies. His failure in pacifying civilian resistance in Poland, as well as to dismiss the concerns of its citizens, led to the "December Revolt" which halted all military operations for 2 months and gave the Allies a valuable breathing room.

Played By: Patrick Bauchau
Alternate: Roger Moore

Konrad Wysocki: A Polish member of the Communist Party and saboteur for the incoming Soviet Army. Konrad fully believed in the Communist cause and the benefits of Poland under the aegis of the Soviet Union. However, he soon found out that they were more under the boot of the Soviet Army, and no number of protests or even pleas could change that, all being received with a gun pointed at his head, and more polish dead. Disillusioned and regretful for what he'd done, Konrad joined the Polish resistance, taking the role of a double agent against the Soviets, and delivering critical information that allowed the "December Revolution" to occur, as well as the resistance to survive, even if he didn't.

Played By: Martin Sheen
Alternate: John Hurt

Sir Owen Chapman: Former diplomatic attaché to the Soviet Union, his experience in said country made him invaluable to the Intelligence Service MI5 in order to root out Communist agents and protect the members of Parliament as well as the Royal Family. Unknown to nearly all, he was a communist agent who had been set as a "Sleeper Agent" in order to act on a plot to gut the British government and kill the royal family when the signal is given. Chapman has been creating connections and rising through the ranks thanks to the support of Soviet Intelligence and agents. His plot nearly succeeds as well, stopped only at the last moment thanks to a combination of Luck and Churchill.

Played By: Liam Neeson
Alternate: Patrick Stewart

President Roux: A vacillating, often weak man, who is mostly seen to be controlled by his assistant; a man known as Kane. Elected as a compromise candidate due to the political instability between the two leading parties, President Roux vacillates through the beginning of the war as to whether he should mobilize the troops or try to negotiate with the Soviet Union. Seeing the atrocities carried on in Greece, and brought by Minister Stavros, he finally decides to send troops to aid Germany in the fight...only to be then assassinated by Kane, who then takes control of the government.

Played By: Jack Nance
Alternate: Harry Dean Stanton

A.N.: So, as I've said, I see the trilogy being made in the 80s, when we're still in the middle of the Cold War, which would justify keeping the more serious and grounded tone of the first game. However, we could make a set of movies that are campier in tone after the Cold War is over, to reflect how the Soviet Union is no longer a threat, and to have some fun as well with the series. I think this could be fun.

Awesome! We got everything we wanted under the sun, and some not very good surprises (Thank the Lord that Kathleen Kennedy was not there!), but you know, if they're planning on a Batman movie, then I wish them all the best (Good luck making it good without Tim Burton to add the seriousness and grittiness it needs you schmucks!).

So, we have Queen on our house...you know, the idea of them making a soundtrack for the Prince of Persia series is still on my mind. I just think it could work. Aside from that, success with our 5 Dates film and Carrie being pregnant...this is truly the Year of the Goose!

Now, if only we could buy the rights for Minority Report and The Princess Bride...Soon, very soon.
Nope, no I didn't.

You see, I had thought of adding Tanya as another POV or character, but then I started thinking about the tone of the film. I did mention that for all the Campy tone of the games, the original Red Alert was the more grounded and realistic of the series. And a movie adaptation that mantained the tone would not have a Female Mercenary Commando in the 1940s (unless there's something I'm missing). it's fine in the games, but in the movie as it is it just wouldn't work.

Not to mention, I want to tackle the Red Alert 2 game eventually, and there's a 20 year difference in the timeline between them. If I want Tanya to appear there then i can't have her appear now. Besides, the tone in said sequels will be much more lighthearted and Campy, enough to justify her appearance and badass attittude.
