Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

  1. Personally I'd have a young-sounding female narrator for the Undertale movie. Just so we can canonize the Narrator Chara theory. Or I'd increase Chara's involvement in the story to have her serve as the devil on Frisk's shoulder as they* try to complete the Pacifist route. And I'd find a way to give Asriel a happy ending. My preferred director for this would be, naturally, Don Bluth. I would love to discuss cast choices. Because I'd make it a musical and cast Frank Welker as Mettaton and David Bowie as Mettaton EX. Just for the surprise factor.
  2. I love the idea of becoming involved in real estate. There are numerous practical reasons why it'd be a good idea but admittedly I wanna get into the theme park business because it'd be fun.

Really happy that American Graffiti was able to stand strong on its own with only a couple of boost towards reactions and that with the nat score alone it would have been pretty decent. But holy cow, 215 million is pretty damn big for the time and OTL in the first run it made 55 miilion so that's a near 400% performance from OTL thanks to Bruce's involvement. Also keep in mind that if Star Wars is just as much if not more of a success than OTL, then Universal is likely going to do a second run in theaters and that could easily mean tens of millions more. Pretty insane that Bruce has enough money to retire at 18 and has so much that his great grand children can live comfortably. It's also really good for our career because as much as Hollywood hates us, we are literally one of the richest men in town and everyone wants to be friends with the guy who can film their project, and meanwhile we can make whatever dream films we want on our own.

Having American Graffiti achieve so much success on the first run, being widely critically acclaimed and becoming a multi millionaire should hopefully do wonders for George's mental health since he proved himself to Hollywood and the world with his second movie and no longer needs bank runs or begging to make his films since likely Hollywood is going to be begging him to sit in their directorial chair. Combined with McLuvin's reward of Marcia and George having an honest conversation and recommitting their love to one another is going to make sure that the 70's are a very happy decade for George. Looking forward to New Hope where thanks to years of practice in Tai-Chi and meditation George is chilled AF throughout the production.

Lastly on the film, a reminder that not only did the reshoots and editing portray the cast at their absolute finest, but all of the major actors got their 1%, $2 Million in untaxed income. So not only did we save or start a lot of careers and get America to fall in love with the cast, but we made a lot of people instant millionaires, really impactful for some like Harrison Ford who had just given up acting and thought he was just going to be a carpenter for the rest of his life. So that's a lot of stars unleashed into the wilderness who will be very grateful to Bruce.

@Magoose Did American Graffiti just get its five OTL nomination categories or is it just George and Cindy getting the nominations? I would think Bruce or the three other stars would be very eligible to get a nomination for Best Actor based on their performances. Really hope George or Marcia get an Oscar, and it would be absolutely hillarious for Cindy to win when in the first turn she just had a flat 2.

Pretty sad about Bruce Lee dying, but you can't win them all and while Bruce can be proactive and support Carrie through her addiction or make an impactful film that opened Elvis' eyes, there's really little we could have done to avoid Bruce meeting a fate that no one could have anticipated and was based off of a mix of allergies to something rare and Bruce's body being out of funk. We aren't precient, but hopefully we can build off of our success and make a lot more people happy.

SO...

With George in a less stressful financial situation, he may finally start writing that space story in ernest.

and can have a screenwriter help him out with his dialogue.

Honestly I think the OT trilogy works pretty well in terms of dialogue because the story was playing to what Star Wars was meant to be, a classic fantasy adventure for modern audiences set in space. So with the plot structured to fit that type of narrative, the dramatic and stage like dialogue fit because it enhances the plot and focuses on events and characters. Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones failed in dialogue because George was trying way too hard to have Episode I be a comedy and for Episode II he was building up a romantic tragedy that would lead to Anakin's fall but was also supposed to cement them as true lovers, but at that point neither character had been established and showing the two as true love and yet tragic and wrong which caused the downfall was two conflicting opposites that don't mesh together well.

If Bruce and Carrie are Han and Leia then at least on that front the romance should be okay since George would probably let us improv or write down new romantic dialogue and we pour that real life romance into the fictional one like John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Wonder if we're gonna keep the "I Love You" "I Know" line.

…..we're fucking close to becoming a billionaire

When we make Star Wars I am gonna pump out so much good shit for Omakes to mak it the first billion dollar movie.

Your going to need to invest actions in that.

Also: I need to come up with some new actions for you all because you have tons of ducking money.

Maybe have an option open for Bruce donating some money to charitable causes? If we can't get Hollywood to like us, then get the public to absolutely love and adore us as the Proto Keanu Reeves, an absolutely chill and humble action star who acts like a normal dude and helps everyone in need.

Hey guys, check this out:

It's so fascinating how Bruce Lee grew from being just another kid wanting to fight and beat those around him, to the friend and mentor that we had in the quest. The fact that the philosophy he taught us was also taught to him, and we could pass it on in McLuvin's pitch is also amazing in my opinion.

I'd at least make Mettaton's bits a musical because it goes with how flamboyant of a character he is.
If I remember correctly, his section is already part musical and part game show, so it really shouldn't be a problem. I can also totally imagine him just saying some of his line melodically randomly during his dialogue. And YES to Bowie. Perfect live action casting, although I think I would prefer an animated Undertale....I'm sad now 😔 I really want to see an animated Undertale movie😭

Let's hire a mercenary group and some PI's to...peruse some of Hollywood's sketchier folks.
Roman Polanski, I think is still in LA right now.

Maybe we can stop him from doing very bad things.

Personally, after seeing Undertale the Musical... I would love that.

Beat the Shit out of Disney with our energy for fun!
*Clears throat*.....no
Buy why?

Well, the thing that really pushed us over the edge was Elvis basically saying the movie changed his life and belives that everyone can have a chance to experience what he did.

That sparked curiosity. And it reached many of the audience that would have ignored it.

Because when the King of RocknRoll says the movie is darn good, some people might listen to it.

And since it was really good... Well, it only made the film more popular.

Well, he might not be chilled AF during production, but he will have a very good grasp on what he needs to do, and what he can do.

Plus with us having some decent directing experience, we can tap in when he needs a break, or when we need to send him home to go to sleep.

Now the only thing stopping him is finding a distributor for that space movie, and see who will go to bat for him.

But there is an edge towards one studio in particular that isn't exactly... hostile to him, his friends, or his producers.

Yeah, Harrison will definitely be one we have to look out for.

Especially if he decides to stay in the Lucasfilm family.:V

I mean, lets be honest here...

Depending on how we play Han... If we play Han...

That might be the perfect line still.
Maybe have an option open for Bruce donating some money to charitable causes? If we can't get Hollywood to like us, then get the public to absolutely love and adore us as the Proto Keanu Reeves, an absolutely chill and humble action star who acts like a normal dude and helps everyone in need.
Will definitely do that.
Everyone, clearly the first thing we do with the money is making our parents get a huge renovation
We're about to make that Bar the best damn Bar in Hells Kitchen.

And maybe sprinkle in some memorabilia for our fans who will make the pilgrimage to the O'Brian Family Bar.

777,000 compared to 1 million for investment

And

140 million compared to 215,670,495 for grossing income

So the profit margins went way up there.

Honestly, with what some other people were talking about, we should definitely help George keep Lucasfilm independent and turn it into one of the biggest studios around. We can help him set up his own distribution company for his films, like Disney did with Buena Vista, and we can try to produce our films under the Lucasfilm label. And for the theme park idea being thrown around, we get enough IP under Lucasfilm so that he can have his own Lucasfilm theme park. Relentless ambition is the order of the day.

Bruce Gains:118,068,772.25 US Dollars

It made you a millionaire after all.

We can retire.

By why be a millionaire, when you can become a billionaire.

@Magoose adjusted for inflation in 2023 Bruce has earned $795,554,831 or Seven Hundred Ninety-Five Million Five Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-One
Bruce has gotten/earned over 100 million and he's not even 19, that's going to make some headlines some where, that could make a good Omake

Alright.

Everyone like the updates?
update was great

I remember Magoose stating earlier he hates how Star Wars kept Fox alive, well here with a 126 million net worth, I don't see any reason why George has to go to them when Bruce as a business partner can invest in the creation of an in-house distribution company, keep all the money purely for George and friends with none going to greedy hacks who want to get rich for nothing or screw George over.

I only show the first run because thats the biggest grossing.

And because I don't want to constantly update the film.

If its the biggest grossing then how many runs did american graffiti get in reality? Because our income numbers are really only going to go up from here with that running in the background!

A worthy cause to invest into. Our very own distribution company! Universal literally distributed the film that is going to fund their next big competition! Just a note though that we also are likely going to be the majority share holder in such a hypothetical creation of a new company just because of the amount of money we are going to invest here. $118,068,772.25 is not a small amount of money in that day and age. Investing about 100,000,000 into LucasFilms for the intent of fleshing out all of the various departments so we no longer need to work with others is nice but the real advantage would be our ability to start undercutting the other big companies in the business! Attract all of the talent because we offer the best term! Always promise to at least match the offers the other companies make!

And pay any outstanding medical bills our Dad has from when he got shot.

And also have Bruce contribute to any charities for Vietnam veterans that may be out there, considering how much support we got from Vietnam veterans as Radar in MASH.

Shall I roll the outcry of Bruce death @Magoose for the chaos
I already did it.

In fact, it's the opening for the next turn.

And needless to say, at least in America... it was lax.

But in Asia... Bruce got a funeral fitting for his status as a legend.

But does George want to do that? He seems more in line with a guy who wants to make movies for himself and, later, push the boundaries of what film and television can do.

Now we have no such scruples, but a reminder that this is also an actor quest, so we're going to need someone with the experience, the know-how, and the scruples to work with us, while also keeping Hollywood from destroying us...

"Hey Mike, wanna job with this new kid named Lucas?"

Bruce has gotten/earned over 100 million and he's not even 19, that's going to make some headlines some where, that could make a good Omake
I'm begging one of you all to write one where Hollywood reacts to an actor and producer outfoxing all of the Hollywood elite...

And winning at every turn.
it will become the most popular bar in Hells Kitchen
Hopefully, the Mob dosen't decided to fuck around and find out.

Well, New Action is Available.

Thanks for the idea.

I mean it makes sense, Bruce has been screwed over by a lot of Hollywood people in his time, and probably hates them, while George still has many painful memories from WB screwing over his film by canning it after only a month.

Well one thing that should be known is that George at this time really wants to make Star Wars and make it a great film. Hell, after Graffiti was released he practically spent the next three years trying to get it made, made it, and then definitely profited off of it.

Enough to where he founded ILM and... we know where that goes. They do incredible work.

So... he might instead ask you to spend resources helping him out in his movies, then finding a way to distribute those movies.

Again, that may depend however, on what happens.
And pay any outstanding medical bills our Dad has from when he got shot.
He dosen't need to. Debbie already did that for us.
And also have Bruce contribute to any charities for Vietnam veterans that may be out there, considering how much support we got from Vietnam veterans as Radar in MASH.
I'll add that to the new actions counter.
Once the late 70s start rolling around, we(as in Lucasfilm) should totally pick up the rights to Friday the 13th.
I really don't like that movie. That's just me of course.
