    TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

    To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

    I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

    I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

    I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

    I'll see you all around.

    I'd love that.... So long as we focus on the drugs that are actually a major harm.


    Weed and the like was demonized hard originally as part of a way to hit racial minorities in the war on drugs.... If I remember right one of the key people behind it made a quote specifically stating as such at some point

    I did not say uncontrolled or unregulated but the degree to which the law persecutes some drugs is over the top

    Just a point of order, but no.

    Milosevic was only one-third of the problem.
    The Ceaser of the metaphorical asshole triumvirate, as it were, but hate him though I do, he was not the only one.

    Tudjman and Izdbegovic were as much of bad actors, and bear equal amounts of responsibility for stroking Croat nationalism and Bosniak Muslim nationalism.
    There were no good sides in the fall of YU, but by the same meterstick, there was no one single villain either.

    But, this is really not the place to discuss politics, and that is as much as I am willing to go.

    As much as Bruce has been a positive change to the world.

    He is unfortunately not that powerful.

    Soft power he is certianly very powerful and a potent propaganda force for the United States…

    But he is not powerful enough to do… well a lot.

    He can probobly save lives and help negotiate but he's just a player to other more powerful players using him to get a desired outcome.

    Hell the reason he's able to say: help Ireland with its sectarian violence problem is because he's the son of an Irish man, has buissness and family in ireland and because despite the violence itself slowly dying down on its own.

    There are powers already at work trying to stop the violence and a mega Star providing the public relations campaign to make it happen is something.

    If we want the Sonic Comic to be done at Marvel, and still be done as it was during its stay at Marvel and then IDW, then we need two people for it; Ken Penders and Ian Flynn. Now,I know many just seem to dislike Penders on princile and because he might not have the best personality, but the man is amazing at worldbuilding, and whether we want to adimit it or not, he was the man behind Sonic's rise in popularity for the Archie Comics version.

    Ian Flynn though, he was just born about a year ago, but I don't see any reason why he would not have the same passion for the character as his OTL version would, and he is amazing at character developement from what we've seen him do after Penders left.

    So, Ken Penders first for the comic, and then Ian Flynn to serve as his replacement. And in order to not have to deal with Penders harassment later, we can simply agree to pay him royalties later on.

    Not only do we give Penders the royalties we also give him proper credit for his creations while emphasizing that we own the rights to them to avoid him taking his ball with him when he leaves. Say what you will about the man, the man could, as the kids say, "cook". I'm still fond of Dimitri/Enerjak as a character. Even though he is, frankly, basically Black Adam as an Echidna.

    This quest plays fast and loose with butterflies. If we want it we can make it happen.

    Archie, at the time, was starved for talent and success, and he had almost no oversight until after he had firmly established himself as both.
    That is decidedly not the case for Marvel, especially the in-quest Marvel.
    Now, we have the best of both worlds - Marvel that is liable to give him creative freedoms, as long as he delivers; de-facto outright possession of the franchise that stops divergent canon; but also the legal, and moral ability to stomp on his (deserved) sense of entitlement, and tell him, no, this is not your personal playground, play nice with others or gtfo.

    I think this video best explains the environment and what Penders did for the Sonic Comics, while also highlighting boththe positives and the negatives of his style of writing, as well as his relatinoship with the company itslef and the many writers and artists that had to work with him. it's one of the most interesting cases I've seen where he can be considered both the hero and the villain of the tale.

    ... We are either going to be travelling to Yugoslavia in a hurry, or the Italian government has just decided to make us all rulers of Sicily.

    Either way, it's going to be a wild ride. :cool:
