uh, I'm gonna note something: we're probably not going to have any moon tutor opportunities after this this year.

Because we're not going to train EPC anymore for the rest of the year. Hence, we'll only have PLR as a moon art - not enough to fill out a moon tutor.

If think there would be something we could also get trained, we have plenty of other stuff that an Inner Sect person would be able to train.

Not really the point. Like, sure we could do, say, SCS + PLR. But that would be a leg/movement tutor not a moon one. You need to look at the overall theming there.

I mean, we could do something like Occult/Spiritual + PLR - but that would require us to a) train spiritual, and b) do it outside the white room. So again, probably not what we're wanting to do.

Not moon stuff, as far as we are aware. So the 'common' thing between the art wouldn't be moon.

I think we might be reading the plans differently, but first action tutor has always been first action of the week if I recall correctly (so EPC finishing is first in the week), while stealth successes are tallied up as the week closes (so EPC would be at the very end of the week in efficient music).

At the risk of repeating what's already been said, yeah, but they wouldn't be moon. PLR and SCS would be movement. PLR and FSS would be area effects. And so on. If we want a moon tutor, this is actually the only week we can do it.

And I would also argue that since it seems possible we're going to be offered a moon quest upon completion of EPC, we should gather information about the moon patrons and moon cultivation in more depth, because we won't have another opportunity before needing to choose the quest.

Not overly enamored with either leading plan, but that's what I get for ignoring most of the vote cycle. But this one has the mission I prefer, and though the tutor is perhaps sub optimal mechanically and narratively something of a gamble, it beats training ice music with Su Ling.

The tutoring shouldn't even be that bad, really. Most folks in the inner sect should have esoteric occult knowledge aplenty.
 
I don't have a strong preference either way, but I'm switching for the tutoring

Edit: On the other hand I'd rather do the session with Zeqing.

The mechanical thing honestly doesn't really interest me that much, even if it's neglible. I just want to explore our moon connection and this is the best way to do so and is narratively thematic given we went to a moon rave party a week ago, a moon spirit is currently going about the mountain, and we're finishing up EPC this turn which is our core cultivation art. Getting in touch with someone who has even slightly similar experiences just heavily appeals to me and may give us knowledge we can't find in the library about the Moon, given presumably Inner Sect library is superior.

We also presumably want to get into the Inner Sect this year, so making a contact with someone new who we can likely interact with much more significantly in the near future is also a great bonus.

The problem with that argument is that we are virtually finished with EPC. I'm not opposed to getting a moon tutor on principle, but I don't think that getting one for the equivalent of four success is going to impress them enough to make them a significant contact, which is seemingly the main point of the action.

To me Ling Qi's talent works against her there as it's obvious that EPC is a slot filler she could easily have completed on her own and she's hoping for contacts (generous interpretation) or handouts (cynical interpretation).

Unless people are hoping to impress them with the fact that our arts are extremely high quality and given by the moon directly?

To me it seems likely to be a waste of points.

Or he/she assume that Ling Qi is abbusing overflow mechanics.

We are getting EPC5, not EPC8. We are also getting EPC5 with occult focus, when we are anticipating a choice about occult coming from EPC. This is not 'filler'. The tutor isn't going to think "She was planning to stop learning about EPC midway through the cultivation art", that would be weird. If we are gated by a occult choice (and thus have a lot of overflow) then thankfully we can ask for help for that occult choice. If we are not gated by that occult choice, then we are continuing the lessons with learning EPC6.

All of this is obviously ignoring how we are also getting tutored in PLR.

Who knows if EPC progress will even be stalled by a moon quest that may or may not happen, though? Could be the first time around was special. It's not certain that we even have overflow to play with.
