Hmm, so that's the real reason why a genius like Fan Yu is taking so long to cultivate, he's secretly a double cultivator who worked his way from mortal to second realm twice over!!So about what she expected then, Han Jian and Fan Yu would both be solidly late second realm, perhaps even peak, but Fan Yu was still struggling to reach the middle last she saw, Xiulan had had been at peak spiritual the last she saw her, and her physical cultivation had just reached into late. "I won't trouble you for more, but while we demonstrate, there was something else I wanted to ask you."
In simpler terms, this is +3 FVM successes, +10 Spiritual successes, and -23 SCS successes, which means we are losing something like half an action on SCS and gaining maybe a sixth of an action on Spiritual; the rest is rounding error. In summary, Option 2 results in us having roughly
- -20 SCS dice
- +10 Spiritual dice
- +5 FSS dice
- -13 SCS successes
I'm not sure why this is a either/or though. That is the cost of meeting a Moon tutor instead of a Movement art tutor.
If you truly feel like we have a surfeit of sect points, nothing stops us from taking multiple tutoring actions in one week. In fact, if anything that seems desirable, especially on pill weeks (which we've got 5 of in the near future). So I think the comparison I listed is entirely valid in this respect.I'm not sure why this is a either/or though.
It's likely we'll end up taking a archive level 3 art, which would indeed slow down the tutoring, but we have currently 48 sect points, and in the next three weeks we'll do a 30 point mission then two 25 points missions. So we'll lose 90 points from tutoring, and win 80 from missions. We'll then be at 38 sect points. As long as we can keep getting 25 points missions we can have tutors for every weeks until the end of the year.
Obviously, this will change as we might want arts, but I don't consider a 'trade off on tutoring' between this and next week.
Wasn't it you who convinced us that multiple tutoring actions in the same week shouldn't work? I can't recall. If you truly feel like we have a surfeit of sect points, nothing stops us from taking multiple tutoring actions in one week. That said, I don't actually agree that we would want to use sect points that loosely. There are going to be weeks where we don't have a free action slot for it, such as SLP weeks. I also wouldn't be surprised if we failed a mission somewhere, or gave one up due to an interrupt, or just didn't take one because nothing good was available.
I tried making the argument, but it was rejected by the thread, so I stopped beating that dead horse.Wasn't it you who convinced us that multiple tutoring actions in the same week shouldn't work? I can't recall.
And if we are doing tutors almost every week then I don't see why my comparison as something that has only 1 tutoring action in weeks 41-42 is lacking.Anyway, you are right that we can't rely on tutors every weeks, though tutors almost every week is definitely doable... depending on moon quest. Moon quest might very well be a big issue there.

Once again, we know we are going to miss at least two weeks of missions thanks to SLP weeks, so it is entirely safe to "miss" tutoring for one week. I would further posit that it is advisable, because it gives us flexibility later on; it is much easier to do tutoring on a week that we didn't plan to than it is to skip tutoring on a week where it expected it. Given that we are going to want to do Argent Weeks and maybe even an SLP week soon, I think it is a net positive that we get to skip a tutoring action here, not a negative.Basically because until we find out we are forced to not take tutors for one reason or another we should be hoping to do one every week. For example, if next week we have to do moon quest and can't do missions, that does mean we'll have to slow down tutoring the week after the next for a bit... but we are close enough to the 'tutor every week' dream that we should aim for it as long as the sacrifices aren't too big.
