Either of the two top outcomes would be okay by me but I think puzzle box and vault warrior formation are the least time sensitive minors. I also strongly prefer a Zhengui minor. I wonder if attaching a cultivate major to a Zhengui minor would be legal.

In the context, I'd figure it's legal, as we're going hunting training with him--training an Art or Physical cultivation is fine for that.
Anyway, the way I see it, we're not crushed for time with regards to breaking through this turn, but I'd like to get time sensitive stuff out of the way before we go all in next week. At the very least, I don't see it as being likely for us to ever get the Favors done if we don't do it this week, because if we can't squeeze it in now--with only two potentially trainable Arts compared to the half dozen that'll crop up after we breakthrough, we probably won't.
I mean, I could paranoia fuel about other ways that it could go wrong by waiting until after breakthrough, or dragging it out another half month or more, but it won't really matter. All I can say is that we're probably never going to have a better time to do it than now.

Breakthrough is the time sensitive thing we need to do this week, though. And the favor is an EPC bonus, which is something we want available after Green breakthrough so we can get the bonuses from EPC 5 sooner.

Why is it time sensitive though, like, what is going to catch fire if we don't breakthrough this week?
We have a limited number of actions before the tournament. Breaking through now lets us start work on EPC and start putting overflow and our various free successes towards cultivation. It's possible although perhaps not likely that breaking through might even give us an extra action. Given all the arts we want to train, it's imperative we do so quickly, or we won't have the actions we need to be properly prepared for the tournament. It's not worth it spending half a week of actions in prep mode, which delays our likely Green breakthrough a full week, which delays our ability to take advantage of all the bonuses we get from breaking through (or from the fruits thereof - like EPC 5 or the dragon site) a full week.
Knowing how many successes to account for in Early Green arts also lets us plan our cultivation out. The earlier we know that the better.
Basically, we will be far better off if we give ourselves some margin by breaking through this week, and the earlier we break through to Green the larger our margin at the end of this stupid tournament race will be. If we spend our margin in advance like you want to, we'll get crunched where we can least afford it.
So breakthrough is very much time sensitive especially since the major actions you want to take instead are pretty pointless.

I hope everything goes well with this weeks plan. I'm more interested in narrative things like forming a personal relationship with Cai before breakthrough than power gaming/max action efficiency, but I understand that that's what a lot of people are really pushing for in regards to the tournament.
Personally, I feel that holding a major breakthrough push this week is more than off set by the minor focus/narrative flow that Ling Qi is prepping for breakthrough hibernation for the coming week in Alectai's plan. It just feels weird to rush breakthrough with where we are with Meizhen and with several things on the docket narratively for me.
Also, for people saying that there will always be fires to put out in minors, I partially agree, but also posit that this is the only week where we've had a minor locked on us, further limiting our choices. Next week is likely to be less pressing on minors we can let hold off for a week barring another lakegate (snek
).

well, I do have 2 points from the Bai Cui omake. Athletics is 3 points away from 6, if someone has a spare point kicking around that's another maxed skill.I'd rather light the yrsillar beacon after an actual edit needs to be made, so call this a conditional point buy:

We have had actions locked before. The prime example is when mom's last letter arrived we were immediately locked into the Cai tutoring action - no input on our part even. Jiao tutoring locked us, although we hardly mind that. Lessons way back at the start of the quest were locked on occasion. But more than that, even if next week is less pressing we're still going to have 3 or 4 that we want to do. So you want to ignore the favor we owe Fu Xiang?
As SynchronizedWritersBlock and others have noted before, the favor is (a) not particularly time sensitive, and (b) a valuable source of stealth/larceny successes that are best used after breakthrough to boost the difficult-to-boost EPC.
The most pressing cultivation is EPC. If that's happening, then other Arts can get pushed around. Especially in light of the fact that the favor for Fu Xiang gives around the same number of successes to EPC as a full standard cultivation action does with our current dice. The favor is more attractive after breakthrough, not less.

I think upgrading it could be useful if we're going to be Cai's intrigue girl and generally in stealth actions. Plus it's cool. But they're your points.
@jacobk and I already agreed to do this. That said if you're interested we're either 1 or 2 points away from upgrading ossuary scout (not sure how the points distribution went with mine and jacobk's agreement).
