However we do really need to swing it so Li Sung and Suyin get something extra out of it, as they were the primary people involved in finding it in the first place. Whether that's training, or resources, or whatever. Obviously they need to be treated nicely too, but Han Jian should do that off his own accord.

I like the idea of sharing with Han Jian & Co. but in practice I'm not seeing this working. They were kind of reluctant to bring in even Bai Meizhen and thats with a justifiable reason & being wounded/in a bad head-space.
 
Hmm now I kinda want to do the Han Jian training+Gu Xiulan speaking option. We really should start using our arts with them also, we really need the training and it would be a show of trust with them after what happened this week.

Regarding bringing the Han Jian group into the vent thing... in the best of worlds if might happen but in this I really dont see it happening, neither Meizhen nor Su Ling would probably like bringing more people into this and we dont have the social skills to migrate any damage.
 
@yrsillar BTW we had a way to count who got a Qi Foundation Pill when in other weeks, but not this week. We know Li Suying had 2 before this week, Li Qing had the same (now 3), Ji Rong had 4 (now probably 5), and Huang Da had 3. Can we know who got them this week?

While it's not a reliable way to calculate Archive pass, it's at least decent enough indicator I think.

Yes. The 2 socials I want for sure are Bai Meizhen and Training with Han Jian. Han Jian gives skill bonuses, which is pretty key as we're finding out, and Meizhen's always come through for us info-wise and even with advice.

I'd also like to train FVM this week, taking advantage of the water site and gushing water pill. Last cultivation, unsure ATM.

I'd also like to know whether just being at the vent will give the automatic +5 or if we actually need to train AS to get the +5 success.

probably also train SCS this week, get as much out of our arts as possible. We know that we won't be able to break into yellow or silver in two weeks, but it should be possible to advance our arts to the point that we can do a lot of damage.
Also, Creepdude probably won't try to kill us if he is gunning for us as a prize we just need to be ready to beat him up despite the cultivation advantage.

One of the primary benefits from yellow soul is that it allows the individual to bind a spirit so it seems like a good idea to prepare for fighting one, or rather ask for help from someone who knows how to counter one.

Really you saw in the update how hard it was to bring Meizhen in already. The Gu Xiulan action would be working against: the general dislike people have for Meizhen, the apparent dislike people have for spirit blooded people (Su Ling mentioned this way back) and her personal dislike for scholarly people. We are really not that good friends with her yet where we can except her to accept just about anything we throw at her.

Honestly? I think he genuinely believes the whole fight to the death and talk of killing her allies shouldn't bother Ling Qi much.

Keep in mind, a fair number of romantic literature of the time, bodice-rippers most certainly included, would have romanticized 'forceful' men and women rewarding men for their martial accomplishment. It's quite likely he's ignorant of how divorced that is from reality, especially if his father was a big tough cultivator and his mother was more refined and conniving. (Doesn't even require his dad ran the family, just that his mom was 'ladylike'.) Honestly, between his blindness and noble upbringing, the comparison to 'evil Meizhen' might not be too far off the mark.

Even good advice like 'women like a confident man' can really be twisted when you have a sheltered upbringing.

I am REALLY not saying we should consider a head case like this guy a romantic prospect. I'm just saying he's probably sincere when he says that the whole fight to the death is water under the bridge where he's concerned and his romantic pursuit may be less rapey and more legit 'romantic' than we think.

One thing we want to do for sure is warn Han Jian, because he WILL be looking for any romantic rivals to eliminate and Han Jian will seem the obvious one.

I don't really get how it's 'thanks to us' that he achieved Yellow? I mean sure we helped by finding the vent, but Li Suyin and Su Ling played a larger part in that. Him saying that us beating him down gave him enough inspiration to accomplish that seems to be a bit too crazy of a statement to be true, even for him.

Also Jealousy. Gu Xiulan has shown she is already jealous of Li Suyin. Her being Scholarly is just cherry on top.

You put him in a position where he genuinely feared for his life. It was enhanced by Meizhen bulls hit fear tech, true, but he sees that ss why he was able to break through.

As Meizhen already knows that we have an enemy, so talking to Xiulan should be more productive.
Showing Han Jian's group our arts as they have noted Ling QI is too secretive.

I agree with seeing this go badly for Han Jian but it's this guy's sincerity that creeps me out. A stalker being delusional just makes them more terrifying, it means they can't be reasoned with. He can just take any act against him as just playing hard to get and any help we received will just be them interfering where they aren't wanted.

We obviously want to talk to Jian considering our odds of facing Huang Da alone just got a lot slimmer- but moreover, we really need to go all in on cultivating if we want the top 3. Huang grabbing yellow kinda spits on our AS 4 in terms of accomplishments, and the thread's new resolve to barely bother going for yellow before the truce is up makes that top spot increasingly farther away.

I get people want social, but socialization is a luxury we very much cannot afford here. Otherwise we'll sabotage our growth by not being in the top 3, and Ling Qi is increasingly looking like an easy mark for others to try and take advantage. We need a stunning success to counteract that, to have something that makes it really evident that Ling QI will horrendously fuck up anyone that messes with her. Getting more arts doesn't do that, even if we reveal them- our arts aren't very good for crafting an intimidating image right now and getting them to level 2 sure as hell won't magically resolve that.

We need an impressive feat under our belt, regardless if it's nominally inferior to just developing what we have, we need to present an image of stunning success. Of impressive accomplishment. And better arts don't do that.

Nah, I think we'll probably get yellow by the end of Week 12. It'd require some luck and spiritual at the vent this week and 2 meridians next week in our arts week though.
 
Yeah, I'm honestly not sure why some voters seem to be intent on running to Han Jian's group for protection... I'd guess Meizhen would still wipe the floor with Huang Da and we have her protection, and going to Han Jian for protection honestly is quite likely to get make Huang Da certain he's a romantic rival and see Han Jian seriously hurt or killed even if he is Yellow himself. If there's anything that would tempt Huang Da to flout the truce, it'd be a romantic rival.

One thing Han Jian's group wouldn't ever agree to is violating the truce and attacking him in the Sect grounds proper, and any plan that relies on luring Huang Da into the woods with a large group of people in tow is pretty damn dubious. Heading out there 'alone' and having Meizhen follow us stealthy-like would be much more doable.

I mean, if the fluff from the last update made you want to hook up with Han's group again, fine, but I'm not sure how much help they'll be with Huang Da. There's a good chance one or more of them will think the fight and subsequent declaration of ardour for us is romantic rather than creepy and frightening.

As far as my plans go, I'll support any plans aiming for peak Late Red and art pursuit over socializing. Our goal hasn't changed, we just have to hope Li Suyin can hit Yellow before the time is up as well.
