I wouldn't mind a 'I'm a babby cultivator with no political training, Elder pls halp' lesson. I'd much prefer that over ZB+, because Ling Qi has an excuse for her political ineptitude.

Do we know what we'd expect a formation at our level to be capable of? Because we generally have a good sense of what a good art and mediocre art at Red and Yellow can accomplish.

Suppose we get a formation that darkens the area. How dark can it make the area? How large a radius? Can we put it up in combat time, or does it need to be a trap set beforehand. Can we just write the formation on a stone and throw it down, or do we we need to write it into the ground? How easy is it to dispel? Do we need any special materials to make it?

One reason I'm hesitant to support going too deep into formations is that I don't really have an idea of what the payoff is.

Also, I think ZB+ is going to be a waste of time.

Xuan Shi was capable of paralyzing a peer for a month with Formations.

Yeah, but how long did it take for him to get to that level? Did he have to prepare it beforehand? Did it cost him any Qi?

I mean it's a decent data point, but it still doesn't give us a heuristic for what we can expect after studying for say a month.

Opening the Shaman's bag is fine and something I want to do, but we have too many other important minors to do so. I'm still hesitating to change my vote for Thor's Twin plan because I prefer the Han Jian minor to Xuan Shi's, but both of those are really important.

Also, getting ZB+ early means being able to tell early how much we want to train it, just like for a hypothetical art in the shaman's bag.

We did get a +3 to the rolls thanks to the Lesson, but @yrsillar has confirmed the successes are piling on each others, so we don't actually need the +3 dice at all. It's like the Tokens, we aren't going to destroy them, we just might take longer to open them.
 
Mmmh, OK, going to switch for a few hours, to see how it will go. Mainly because I really like Han Jian's action. Not a huge fan of meridians instead of TRF though. That plan is also VERY similar to @Thor's Twin, but I think I prefer meridian to FSA, mostly because beginning FSA now still feels iffier to me than waiting a couple weeks for it.
