Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Well, there is Xia Ju and her sister, Wen Ai and Chu Song, as well as Guandao girl, but yeah. Being able to also target boys would be a real help there.
They haven't particularly done anything against us though that would invite our particular brand of retribution. We already defeated Chu Song and took our tokens from her, but I don't feel the need to try and steal everything of hers at the moment. Maybe later I'll be more amicable to that, but at the moment I don't want to antagonize Chu Song any more than we already have.

I'm fairly sure Xia Ju and her sister have done something against us.

As for Chu Song, she is powerful enough and enough of an enemy that gaining more resource from her is particularly fine by me, as I don't consider stealing something we should only reserve for mortal enemies but as part of our tools to get ahead of rivals and more simple enemies too. This is why I have Wen Ai there, simply because she is influential and rich.

So, a question about stealing. How much stealing should we do? Is this a part where we almost never have enough money, so the more money we have at this point the less time we will have to spend later getting money.

Also, should we target people who are wealthy and influential or should we target people who might have less wealth but are not nearly as influential?

I think that if Cai is able to hold on to the establishment after this event, then we should start going after the more influential people outside of Cai's regime. If nothing else we will be able to blame on Cai and shift the blame off of ourselves.

This boy-cootie kekkai is getting seriously bothersome. I'm thinking we should ask Fu Xiang how hard getting past it would be, or Xuan Shi... Or, I guess, experiment a bit. I guess we have enough victims around to throw one at the ward to see what it does. Hopefully we'll find some way to bypass it.

I'd advise against it, personally.

The barrier is set up by the Sect itself, and not as a a test either. Bypassing or breaking it would be against Sect rules and would probably be something they come down harder on.

Yeah, unfortunately, I think that the barrier should be treated as an absolute for us. I'm sure that there are ways around it, but we should have enough targets in our dorms and the outer sect dorms to get us enough money to buy all the pills we will ever want.

[X] Break out with Xiulan and Fan Yu, gather support and fight back toward the main part of the mountain to link up with the rest of the council

Honestly it's not about the money currently, but about trying to find some of the better and rarer pills, about depriving rivals of money, and about arts.

Mmmh. I'd.... say the opposite. Hard to know if I'm reading things into it, but the way Elder Jiao talked about the barriers made me think it IS some kind of test for the more adventurous students.

Well, I don't think we will be able to stop the richer students from having money. They can always just request some more funding from their clan or parents and they probably have enough in their storage ring to last for a bit. However, the money could be important to us if we are able to keep it for the inner sect. The more time we can train in the inner sect and not have to worry about money, the better.

The pills would be nice, no doubt about that. I say take all the pills we can when we go thieving, but that might not be feasible.

As for the stealing of arts, I don't know how much we would benefit from that. The next couple of arts that we are looking for shouldn't just be random arts we pick up in people's houses. I guess we could hang on to them until we have the time and inclination to learn them, but I wouldn't put arts as a high priority.

Honestly, unless what you mean by 'money' is 'green stones', we don't care about the money. Well, not quite true. If we can easily get several thousand stones it would really help when it comes to improve our talismans before the tournament.

Arts are nice because the higher end students probably all have some really nice quality arts. Sadly we don't yet know the best families yet, we barely learned that Xuan Shi was from a ducal house for example, and there are no indication yet if Huang Da is from one too, etc. But stealing arts from a ducal house would be, well, very tempting. Probably not worth the hassle, but possibly doable if we are careful enough. Especially if they are the right types.

Well, money before the tournament is going to have limited value, pretty much to just pills that we need, but I'm considering what our money needs will be should we make it into the inner sect. We'll probably be provided more money by the Sect itself, but that money won't be enough to cover the pills we would want to use in order to get the full benefit out of cultivating. At that point, we will probably be spending a lot of money for the pills and won't have accesses to a lot of money making schemes right away.

There is the option of going hunting and thieving in the inner sect, but each action we use up for making money is an action that we are not using exploring the mountains or cultivating with the fancy new inner sect drugs. I would like to have a nice stash of cash when we move up to the inner sect so that we don't have to immediately start trying to make money and instead can focus on exploration and cultivation.

The upside to the Inner Sect is that the Sect mostly pays your Cultivation bills at that point. Outer Sect are basically helpers who can pay for the right to study some of the techniques they've pulled together. Inner Sect are the ones that they've actually decided are worthy of carrying the name and honor of the Sect on their shoulders--and naturally ,that means they'll spend a fair amount of money pushing you up.

The Core Sect though is where you put all the people who have the potential to be new Elders in the future though, or your top end, bleeding edge students with strong connections so they look fondly on your in the future. Not only are their bills covered, but they also get the rare and also the really expensive stuff.

What I'm most anticipating is what Zhengui will be able to do when he gets old enough to actually participate in fights as well as what his personality will be. I think it's going to be fun to have a spirit beast to talk to and think various plans through with.

It would be kind of weird, and Ling Qi would probably hate that too. Hanyi's a brat, and while brat do love animals they are also not the nicest or most patient around them, or with younger kids. While it's possible they'll strike it off I doubt that would happen before Zhengui grows up a bit.

And I highly doubt Ling qi would enjoy having a brat around for more than half an hour or so.

I'm looking forward to finishing EPC3, myself.
Yea. On that note, what are people hoping to get from EPC? My list, in order:

1) +1 Talent. Obviously this would be huge, but it also might be too much to ask. Why not +1 talent and a pony if you're asking for the impossible, after all. But I do think it's possible that we'll get this, after a gate of some kind. Something like after we choose one of the phases of the moon (likely grinning) we have to fulfill some quest for that phase to get an increase in talent - for example, stealing something from Sun and sacrificing it. After all, we've been told that EPC is very high end, we've been told talent increases are possible, and finally we've been teased about something mysterious and powerful hidden within EPC for a long time now.

2) Virtual Green Stone. Not usable right now, but green stones cost 500 red stones and give +25 dice (for the first), so this would be incredibly useful once we get to green/bronze.

3) Bind spirits up to grade 3. Again not usable right now but we know that Zenghui will get to grade 3 and probably fairly quickly. We don't want to lose him when he gets there.

4) Some sort of bonus to meridians. EPC is more of a spirtual art, and meridians are more of a physical thing in this system, but you would think all cultivation arts would eventually have some sort of bonus to something that's so foundational.

5) Increased qi, either a flat bonus or reducing spirit upkeep.

6) More dice for yin arts, spiritual cultivation, physical cultivation, qi rolls.

I've got it!

Grinning moon should allow us to add larceny dice to meridian "unlocking" actions. :lol

That would be a great bonus - and also more interesting than a flat meridian bonus.
