Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I wonder if there's an art or item that reduces qi costs for item actives. Those things are gonna start to chew through our reserves at this rate.

Hey @yrsillar i am pretty sure that:

Mystery Egg
A leathery shelled egg the size of both of your fists put together. It is black and shot through with lines of dark green. It moves sometimes. It seems like it might be close to hatching.

should no longer be in our inventory

fixed. No duping :p

Unfortunately, there is only one option for that and that involves going out to get other people. Even then, the time and qi restraints for taking out 8 people one by one is going to be extremely taxing.

The goal here is to break out and run for it in order to get out of the trap location as soon as possible. The more time we spend taking out these guys, the less of an impact we have on Cai's fight (if we have any at this point) and the more risk that we will run out of qi.

By ourselves and with plenty of time, it would be a great tactic. However, in the current situation where we need to be worried about a possible mad rush to take out Xuilan (once they realize she's gotten reinforcements) as well as the time and space it would take to do a hit and run, I just don't see it as being a likely option.

It;s eight peers. The onslaught penalties alone mean that if it comes to a fight, we lose.

Our only real option is run like we have the hounds of hell after us.

Hah!

So, Ling Qi is going to abuse these strategies we've been coming up with suitably enough to increase the odds of pulling out, right? Like the whole "Meteoric Shower + Adrenaline Rush = Numbers? What numbers?"
It's, huh, kinda expensive as fuck. I mean, it turns meteor shower from a 6qi technique to a 6+3 Qi one, and the 3Qi can't be reduced, so 7QQi. It can have its place if we think we really need the blind to help us run away, but it's a edge case thing. If we DO get first strike, and the enemies are arranged such that we gain a lot from them having the blind, it can sort of helps:

Dex 5 + Archery 4 + ZB 2 + FSA 2 + Equip 3 + First Strike 4 + Meteor Shower 3 = 23 Dice, so the +4 in that situation helps us bring our dice pool toward the elite yellow/ new green territory for AoE. Sun Liling's Own AoE was 26 dice... but obviously she had a lot of auto-successes.

Depending on how elite those late are... and I suspect they are kind of scrubs... we can hit 2-4 of them. This should probably force their allies to at least spend one turn to dispel the blind, though considering how our resolve is now pretty decent and MS is a 3 dot technique, it might actually take multiple turns to do that.

Still, that is something from Edge Case that spending so much Qi like this is worth it. Really only useful if we have a specific place we are running to or allies we can reach, or just really really don't want to be caught right now.

I hope Ling Qi drowns every one of these assholes in mist for going after Girlbro Xiulan like this

Hmm, the plan seems a little risky. If we're tagged by the encirclement on our way back, we're essentially bringing back 2 2nd realms friendlies along with 7 or so 2nd realm enemies to the main fight.

Now exactly how well the numbers stack up in total between the two factions, I dunno, but considering we didn't encounter any of Renxiang's enforcers on our way here, things might not shake out too well if we get chased all the way back.

Just as well we have those byebye techniques pre-casted on cards I guess.

I don't think we should use FVM, as we want to break them out sneakily, meaning we don't trigger the Formation and alert the enemies watching. If they see our mist role in but don't notice us slipping away, they'll try to check to see if Gu is still in her crevice. When they see she's not there, they'll rush back to try and reinforce their allies, meaning that we'll have more enemies to deal with. We want them to waste as much time as possible guarding an empty trap, which means they can't know when we break out of it.

The real question is, are they faster than we are.

Because if they're not, and it becomes a running battle, we'll inevitably win. Our ranged defense is stupidly good. While it would be expensive to take everyone down quickly, it would be extremely cheap to do so one by one.

The meteoric swarm + adrenaline rush is basically a one shot of "Remove half of our opponents from consideration for now". Exactly what you need to break an encirclement.

@yrsillar

This is even more one-sided then it looks like at a glace, because the winning vote has been slightly broken up in two places, but the 'broken' parts are basically identical. For instance, @Yun is voting for the winning vote, but isn't getting counted. Not sure why, I think he might have used his dashes wrong.

The third place vote is basically the first place before people had the idea of equipping the Champions Band.

So yeah. I would actually say this vote is pretty over with.

Additional things of note--we can still use ZB and Against the Wind for an AoE pulse of slowdown too.

Running away isn't going to be a problem, especially since we can slip the formation with Formless Shade cards. Once it becomes a running battle, we'll inevitably win unless these guys are really, really good.

They don't have to be, all they need to do is arrive back at around the same time we do. Xuilan and Yu are both Qi exhausted and it looks like we have exactly 1 rather weak restorative left. It'll be down to us to fight aside any opposition we meet.

Like, if by some coincidence we happen to see Liling and Renxiang fighting as soon as we get back to the outer sect, we're going to have to try pretty hard to end the fight before a truckload of enemy reinforcements crashes the fight. That would even be lucky actually, since Liliang seems to have a whole head of snake with body style command structure going on. If we got caught up in some secondary battle like finding Feng fighting Guangli or some melee involving a bunch of people, the cultivators encircling us would swing the fight way harder if they arrive before the battle is done.

So I'm just going to pray to RNG that we don't trip the alarm.
