Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Nice art @Cosmic, but I can't remember Vista ever using a gun in this story.
Not this one. But she could probably get some mileage out of one (literally, with her powers).
I know of at least two fics where she ends up with one; the epic Mauling Snarks and the very short "Vista has enough" - both of them have Missy abusing space time curves to shoot around corners. Just in different ways.

Correct. She doesn't, but the idea of Vista with a gun has been a general Worm meme for a while. I find it funny and it's an emote that can be used outside of just the BCF circle.

Edit: Also, I'm probably misremembering, but I recall either a brainstorming convo or an omake where Joe tries to reconcile with Vista and one of the requests/demands he gives to the PRT is for Vista to be given a weapon (and maybe a costume rework by Garment).

Vista can turn the next step you take into a 10 mile plummet to your death.

The main reason to give her a gun (or, better, some sort of tinkertech stun rifle) is so that she has less lethal options available. At the moment, she has "12-year-old girl punch!", or "oops you just tripped and broke your neck", and nothing consistent/reliable in between.

Yeah, you basically need to give her some tools, or get her the ability to do Taylor Varga Cloak shenanigans. If you don't she has basically doesn't work, or instantly lethal on almost all capes with nothing between.

Relating to Lord's style of internal voice of various characters, I have been assuming that it's an attempt to convey all the connections and patterns that our brains process kind of subconsciously before it gets boiled down to what we think 'out loud' (if you're one of the people who think with internal monologue).

So it seems like a lot of deep thoughts, but is actually kind of happening constantly and somewhat automatically if we were to perceive the thoughts directly. Little tells in the writing like going over past details that a character wouldn't probably think directly about, but just has built into their thought process because of how it influenced who they are. It's a more whole view into a character's mind and personality by letting us into the basic patterns and memories that are foundations of their perspective on their reality and how the events are impacting them.

This is just my head canon, YMMV, but I appreciate the depth of detail that Lord goes into more since I considered things through this lens.

"I am glad that you are able to help Weld fully recover. Assuming that your arrangement…"

"As I said, Weld is paid up for future treatment." Apeiron assured him. "He hasn't exactly been accessible, and the timeframe and nature of that treatment is something that will need to be discussed." Just the fact that there were options. Multiple options, and with Weld allowed a choice in how they were approached.
Y'know I'm really interested to see what a 'fully cured' Weld would look like.

I'd love to see what the servitors and machine spirits of the labratorium thinks about FEV. My head cannon has always been that FEV is a psionic viral infection that essentialy brings your conscious and subconscious desires to reality as long as your exposing your body to new experiences. It's like an individual Orc WAAAAGH field where what you do or even wear can dramatically increase certain physical, mental or even conceptual( luck and karma are present, while most perks from the charisma branch can fall under some sort of telepathy or forced persuasion/ignorance) parameters. Psychers are actually a thing in Fallout, the Master from the first fallout was some sort of psychic hivemind, in fallout 3 there's the kid with the psionic inhibitor who can predict your future and tell you quest hints and recently in fallout 4 you have Mama Murphy. I'm not sure if new Vegas is considered canon or not but I think some of the perk descriptions actually mention Chakras and mental domination. Also to me the mysterious stranger doesn't actually exist and is simply an hallucination brought forth when someone shoots another with psychic mind bullets( that's telekinesis Kyle!).
Also the fact you can pick something up while holding a weapon with two hands and awkwardly maneuver it(can't run or turn fast) is another form of short range barely functional telekinesis.

The servo-skulls and the Laboratorium haven't appeared in a while, I think since Apeiron did a ritual (can't remember any details). I just started a re-read and noticed their importance in the early days, analysing the plasma grenade and then Tetra.

I also caught a mention of not being ready to marry into New Wave. Foreshadowing or just plot meandering? (By which I mean I wonder if the ship was a posibility that far back.)

"No! No, dinner sounds great." She replied quickly. "Seven o'clock?"

"Sounds good." I said.
I won't lie- I squee'd just a little. They were adorable and awkward and I really hope that this works out for them.
I had returned to the workshop to find out Aisha had handed out incredibly dangerous items of literally incomprehensible power to the entire team with limited concern for the consequences. I'd complain, but the magnitude of the hypocrisy would be more than I could endure. I wonder if this was how Tattletale felt whenever she learned of some new initiative or invention I was ready to deploy? Maybe I should be a bit gentler when we had our daily check-in.
And yet, this won't change how Joe goes about doing things xD
Looking around, Garment was the only member of the team who hadn't selected a color. Or maybe it was better to say she hadn't selected a single color. She was helping to coordinate the experimentation and use of the other colors and stood ready to integrate any application that was discovered into her work. She was reasonably well protected from the secondary effects of the colors, so was probably the best to manage things.
Does this mean that Garment is now an even bigger fashion apocalypse than she was before?
He'd seen the impact on Weld from what Apeiron regarded as a partial and incomplete treatment. Hearing the boy talk about food with enthusiasm for the first time in his life, with the kind of passion and excitement he usually reserved for new album releases. Even setting aside the impact on his powers, that single fact had been life changing.
It's heart warming to see Armstrong not just being a morally good and competent authority figure but also being a good and loving father to Weld.
Was that meant to be voice?
It was a grim thought, but such challenges would likely come from Director Piggot's own allies within the wider PRT. In truth, the critical nature of the situation in Brockton Bay had been only half of what had kept that woman in her position. There were other officials that had been supported by her and had lent their support in return. As much as the PRT at large had tried to paint both her and her situation as extreme outliers, there were many who had voiced support for her actions and positions, even throughout the developing crisis.
I'm reminded of the first 'season' of the Revolutions Podcast where Mike, the presenter, finds it funny that a particular lord and the king's own bishop are so despised by almost everyone and yet friends with each other, I believe he describes it as "So of course the two most friendless men in the kingdom were friends with each other."
That was all up in the air now, but not for any reason that Armstrong would ever hold against the boy. In fact, it could well be an even greater answer than he had dared to hope.
The eternal war between Armstrong, the director and Armstrong, the father.
"I see, and my apologies for any offense. If you would forgive my asking, would that be 'they' in the neutral sense, or the plural?" He asked.

His question got a slight smile from Apeiron. "A bit of both, actually, though any other questions of a personal nature would be best directed to the Matrix."

"Of course." He replied. A notice sprang up on his laptop, informing him that Palmer had begun the registration process. And neatly bypassed any questions of gender by registering the Matrix as an organization. Which may have been more accurate than not and also simplified the use of the plural.
I feel as though "Body Corporate" or "Direct Democracy" would work, too.
He'd heard a story about a grandmother who had received Apeiron's treatment injuring a PRT agent when they tried to take her into custody, but that was probably an exaggeration.
I don't know man, nonna's are known to be among the most vicious ambush predators known to man.
Armstrong checked the document and nodded. "That's the main thing, and more than worth the cost. Next to that, this 'G.E.C.K.' is just a bonus."
Bwahahahahahaha!

As an aside to all of this, I find that I have to keep reminding myself that Garment, Fleet and Survey aren't canon characters because they're worked into the story so well.

Garment being a character built out of a Jumpchain joke item built out of a comedy movie having offscreen outfit coordination is honestly hilarious.

My unironically shipping her with Joe and Crystal is just the garnish on top.
