Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Well, to be honest I thought the CD would arrive either with the rest of the musical perks with Pagan Science. Failing that, the final Sabaton perk with Firestorm.

But it's all good. No more 100pt rolls! Half as many rolls for twice the points!

Also, Lisa still being an old stupidhead, while Dinah sits imprisoned in torment. I'll have no sympathy when karma pays Lisa a visit.....

I'm still hoping for Erudition as I'm a sucker for Halo and I want to see the team's reaction to getting a spaceship 😂

I dearly don't want that perk until after the kerbals arrive, it would be so anticlimactic for it to already be here when they first come, I want to see their reaction as it arrives....

On the one hand, this is the first time I've ever been ready to see a time skip. (After S9 skipping to Coil takedown) because going day by day through a week would add several hundred thousand words and I'm only interested in some days of the coming week. On the other hand, the roll mechanism was just changed so it's possible a time skip might not be needed even to reach something that far out. Although admittedly, I really sound like Joe here talking about something a week away as, "That far out". It seems like we're running out of time to get unnatural skill weaving before the Kamui creation, if the forge continues to troll as usual finishing the crafting process will give Joe the perk.

ChatGP might be able to make the lyrics, depending on how specific you make the promt.

God, how long until we can get an AI to make that song for us?
You know what would be better than a AI generated song?
If someone of the readers of this here story were able to contact Sabaton (or at least their agent) and pitch them the idea of writing that song themselves.
Considering their usual lyrics, a song about a FTL Motorbike to the face should be right up their alley.

Sounds more gloryhammer than Sabaton to me. Sabaton's more grounded than that generally.

Ok I'm interested in lyrics, hopefully someone can provide.

But more seriously can we get a time skip or just something to move the plot forward? The story needs to jump to either a fight sequence with the S9 , something major happening at the Gala, or Joe growing as a person and actually doing something, I'm getting really bored with the last couple chapters.

Yeah, their songs are usually inspired by World War I and II warfare, although that "Art of War" song @AntaeusTheGiant linked a couple of posts ago might as well be the (in)official battle hymn of the Vietcong, Mujahedin/Taliban, ISIS or other such guerilla warfare orientated groups.

But the theme of a desperate and pitched battle as well as the chaos thereof is something they are well versed in.

And everybody continue to not talk about things.:jackiechan:

Can't wait for the charity event, and something to go wrong. So so horribly wrong.

And the Sabaton single caught me completely off guard lmao. Probably the best perk he got in while too.
He just doesn't know it yet.

I desperately wanna know what'd happen if he released that single to the public. Unfortunately that probably will never happen.:(

Guys, Lord will write at the speed he wants to write at. He tried speeding things up before, it didn't work out. Just sit back and enjoy the story, however long it takes. If that doesn't work then take a break for a few months then come back. Stop backseat-writing. It's not your story.

I still think he is too lax with his directives to Tattletale. Like about Survey can gather info like she did to Taylor and that he lets Undersiders go against Teeth. Thats just a Khepri+Butcher situation waiting to be happening.

As someone who did just that, 6 months out of the loop and it still hasn't progressed narratively. Anyone can safely skip entire chunks of this and not get lost. The formula of being stuck on a single point, describe the same thing for a few thousands words is supreme here. Rinse and repeat.

The most rabid defenders should perhaps step back and see that the criticism, valid ones at that, it is no longer write speed, it is about narrative being hopelessly held hostage by the mechanics of the Forge. He slaved the story to the mechanics instead of slaving the CF to the story.

Lord can write divergent AUs quite well, its just that this story is Techbabble first, second, and third, with narrative being last place.

Granted, he told it from the beginning, but perhaps it is best if he just posted a disclaimer at the very start disclaiming to not read this if one is looking for tight narrative progression.

Getting the same call with Tattletale as last time, in substance if not in form, when we could've had so many other great events instead really makes me feel like I have fallen into my very own personal hell.

Thanks for the update! Excellent chapter!

Lisa genuine believes that Apeiron+Echidna = Multiple Evil Apeirons = Apocalypse regardless of Apeiron's capabilities. And most reasonable people in her place would, since Apeiron is an "out of context problem" to everyone and Echidna is a mini-endbringer that can make Lung look like a child on a tantrum.

Lisa playing games in this case is indeed stupid (it's always stupid), but she genuinely thinks that it either changes nothing for Dinah or it is for the better for the entire world - with how unpredictable Apeiron is, him marching out to fight Echidna is a genuine concern.

...You don't think that Survey might Trigger do you?
While Fleet, Survey and the Matrix are complex enough to trigger like Dragon did, a big part of any trigger is A LOT of stress, and the moment any of Workshop AIs start to accumulate an amount of stress even close to needed
It's Survey, and she has Celestial Forge around. I feel like the question is not if she will or even can, but if she decides to. If anything she will find a way to either emulate trigger for herself, or will subsume an agent in shard space in some way. There is way too much data in those shards for Survey to ignore it.

It's obvious Joe would react badly to Alchemy being out there
Somehow doubt that, he will likely shrug and go the route "Something was bound to get out eventually, lets post safety manuals online"
And I'm not sure if Victor was the only one to get that info, seemed like multiple people figured it out in parallel from different hints and sources.
