In less strained/tired situation, this would likely go like this:

K: And now?

S: <turns beet red>
A: <tries not to burst out laughing> I suppose this should be done in more... private... circumnstances?
R: I don't think this is trout here on the plate, right Shinji? All in good time, Asuka. Now, Kaworu, be a good boyfriend and learn the proper moves.

Would it made Rei angel colaborator ? wait,she is angel herself, at least partially. But ...she still could by accused by Misato of lap betreyal of humanity. In WH40 it would be lap heresy.
 
So I was revisiting some memories from other fandoms and happened to stumble on some new Rift Material for Chronicles:



I'm mainly intrigued by the reactions of Pilots and co. seeing characters resemble themselves in uncanny ways. A lot happen to liken Tsukasa to Shinji, after all.

The main guy(?) in the foreground looks like a chronically depressed Kaworu.

Or a gray haired Shinji, with additional meekness and some sweet facial markings.

Rei's eyes snapped open at precisely 0645, as usual. She immediately sat up to check on Shinji and Asuka. To her mild surprise their lights were not entwined together still in bed. Shinji's slightly dimmed Light still was, but Asuka's was already moving around nearby, in the direction of the kitchen. Major Katsuragi and Inspector Kaji were still asleep together in the Major's room.

Satisfied to their well-being, Rei swung her legs off the bed and looked down four floors. Kaworu was still sleeping, but Rei could not suppress the desire to see him again as soon as possible. She carefully nudged his AT-Field with her own, trying to rouse him without making it feel too intrusive.

A smile grew on her face when he woke right away, and caressed her AT-Field back after a moment's disorientation as he shook off sleep. She tugged gently, indicating she wanted him to rise and come up. Another caress, and she felt his attention shift as he began to get dressed. His attention had shifted, but the contact remained, like a warm hand on hers. She was beginning to understand better why Shinji and Asuka spent so much of their time holding hands or some other form of physical contact. Smiling, Rei got out of bed herself to get dressed herself. This... was a new sort of day. She could get used to this.

In a more concise way, thanks :) I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter but this glimpse is like a sip of good coffee on a cold morning.

A Chronicle where everyone keeps falling asleep while watching so they never finish the material? OK, I guess....

I know! After the third time attempting to watch it they just toss it to the Magi and we get to hear the Magi MST3k-ing an anime!

Well, only after drilling Shinji about how or why he let that even happen...

She closes the privacy screen. Then Asuka whirls on Shinji, grabbing his shoulder and seating him firmly in the fitting room's confines.

"You had one job, liebling!" Her words only touch the surface of her outrage.

Shinji's palm flexes automatically, and he looks away with barely veiled amusement.

"Baka, you are beginning to act more like your father. But what the hell kind of stint is this!?"

"Maya said my hair was too long for the upcoming pilot's photo," Shinji smirked.

"Come again?"

"She had me stay in the medical wing after physical therapy, said the operating room's gauze scissors was all that was needed."

"So Maya offered to trim your hair?" Asuka demands. Shinji's smile grew: "Yeah, isn't that strange of her?"

Asuka, pressing palm to furrowed brow, processes this with lidded eyes.

Shinji clears his throat: "Well if memory serves, she trimmed something." Then he falters, his smile fading. "Under arms?" she guesses.

But he shakes his head. Asuka backpedals, eyes widening. "Does this upcoming photo op necessitate a bikini wax?"

Shinji ignores this. "I've never been that deep below GeoFront before, it was an otherworldly feeling." Asuka is not impressed.

My Shinji did a Sandalphon dive without Misato's supervision!? The incident in the volcano sprang to mind long enough for Asuka to start sweating.

"Asuka…" he grimaces, trying to stand. She pushes him back down, eyes murderous.

"I'm taking you to see Maya, and we are going to go over exactly what happened. Might have to pull Ritsuko into this."

Asuka fishes out her communicator from her bag, as Shinji waves frantically for her to desist. "Not a good idea, really not!"

She relents, folding her arms across her chest and arching her eyebrow at him: "Erklären Sie sich, baka Shinji." Shinji can only 'meep' in surrender.

Asuka gave Ritsuko a flat stare. "You couldn't test it on yourself and Maya, first?"

"We did." As she gestured towards the room they were looking into.

Where Shinji and Kaworu were getting their shins kicked in by two young children. "Seems they don't see them as parents."

"And no one has brought up the ethical implications of this?"

"Hey, as long as we're treating them like people instead of experiments. Plus, Kaworu and Shinji didn't mind being donors."

"What about Rei's opinion?"

"She helped us with the whole soul aspect."

"...Huh."

Looking back to the room, where the two were still being kicked in the shins.

"You reckon you can do something for Shinji and I?"

"You have the hardware, right?"

"Yeah, but childbirth is pretty fucking painful."

Ritsuko rolled her eyes, "You're not getting out of it that easily, Asuka."

"Eh, worth a shot."

I wondered how long it'd to be reminded of this give-or-take aspect of the show. :tongue:

Truthfully speaking, it's not exactly much on action - in fact it'd be if you took all the introspective scenes from Evangelion and made an entire show out of that around a mystery inside an MMO. But again, Chronicles is loaded with gossiping~

The rainbow in the television's background in the last meme really is what makes it. Though the rainbow was in the original scene as well now that I think about it (and am remembering correctly) so I guess it's not that great an edition.

Still fits in the meme though with how the rainbow represents the LGBTQ+ community in general.
