Should this ever happen, I nominate both this
as my entry into the "Vaporwave" category of Youtube relics and this video
in the "Youtube Poop" section.

Vaporwave could even be a plot device with a message hidden in this wonderful niche. There's almost too much to explore.

Why would Asuka want to try this? I she suddenly into performing science experiments? On another note, I wonder if she knows this meme from Gundam X.

Strange looks were given to a filing cabinet, which had just popped through a Rift into their kitchen. Of course, they started going through it almost immediately. "What the fuck is this?"

"And why does it involve us?"

"I believe these are called memes." Kaworu analysed. "In some realities, the globalisation of the Internet has led to the constant growth, spread, and death of various jokes and other such humour, often with absurdist qualities that tends to increase as time goes on."

Asuka took a random meme from the cabinet.


She grimly chuckled, as she showed it around. "I mean, it's true. At least from a Laserdisc perspective."

"It's not even that absurd." Shinji remarked in curiosity. "I mean, yeah, it's Simpsons. But that's an alright show."

Rei furrowed her brow at yet another meme she unsurfaced. "I believe I have found a more absurd... meme."


"Oh for fuck's sake." Asuka muttered, picking up on the message. "Who makes stuff like that?"

"...Who even are they?"

Just then, another Rift opened and batted Shinji in the head with an Ultradisc copy of a movie named 'Monsters Inc'.

"I assume it is from there." Summarised Kaworu.

Shinji's unamused look went unabated from the discomfort caused by flying plastic boxes. "You have a keen mind, Kaworu."

Update.... er, status update!
I've been stuck on the next scene, the one that completes the update, for weeks now. Last night I figured it out. Now I just need to have time to write it out. On the bright side for that, my RPG group GM had to cancel tomorrow's session, so I should be able to crank some out tomorrow.

It's going to sting. The Pilots' bond with Misato is going to be reeeeally tested when Kaworu has to mention 'oh, forgot to mention until now; I'm literally the thing you hate most in the world.'
 
I looked it up and saw some alternative meanings, but I literally laughed out loud when I first saw the full rendering of this movie's name, and saw the "repeat" symbol from sheet music. Cheeky pricks.
 
As far as we know, Seele is dead in the Rebuild timeline. I was also referring to how Gendo in that timeline seems to have become as evil as Sideous.
