The only way this particular Gendo can end is via horrible death. Make it last a week. It should involve power tools.
I'm going to take that as 'using the power tools to build Gendo a nice, neat coffin' and not as something that wanders too close to violating CC III.6.2.

Please play nice, kids.

Gendo... is not likely to achieve the goal he has planned. Rei is obviously not terribly willing to go along anymore. But there are things Rei doesn't know, and Gendo always has a backup plan.

It just occurred to me at work that Shinji is currently nailing a gymnast.
To borrow an image that I believe was posted by @Eukie as a moderator-action:

Lucky, lucky bastard.
You mean because his girlfriend is a super-genius who had a college degree before her first period and has the potential to go on to become a world-renowned expert in her field of study? That does sound totally awesome.

Yes. And also because she's a gymnast.

A smart SO is a treasure, and being involved with someone you have to put effort into mentally keeping up with is exhilarating. Shinji's done well for himself there, and while we're at it, it helps a lot that they've got complimentary experiences that let them build each other up, too.

But let's not make out that physicality doesn't play a big part in most relationships too, intimate and otherwise.

Dang, Imrix beat me to most of what I was going to say. Yeah, as much as their hormones are firing at full blast (They are teenagers), the bigger joy it that Shinji's found someone who really, truly gets him. After a lifetime alone and convinced someone caring about him was an impossible dream, he gets to spend every night cuddled with someone who understands. The fact she's a genius, a fireball of courage and forward momentum, and a gymnast? Just icing on the cake. The bigger part is that he finally doesn't feel alone.

And of course, all of that applies for Asuka, too. Ok, not the gymnast with a college degree part, but close enough.
Wait, you have a coat of arms?:o

Or you have a tattoo of said coat of arms?

(<Knows nothing about coats of arms)
I do indeed. That is my family arms from the old country, the crest of my clan. Ireland, not Austria.

In-laws finally on their way home, Imp returning to school on Monday. Hopefully, I'll get to write now.

Besides, isn't being able to get a cyborg mecha cloned from the tissue of the eldritch alien being nailed to the wall of his dad's basement to do that impressive all by itself?

I know.

It's just that I'm not exactly comfortable speculating on the sexual prowess of someone who quite possibly hasn't even reached the first anniversary of her first period.

More impressive, because it's a body that he isn't inherently familiar with.

I agree entirely, it just stuck out for me somehow.

Somehow this should be mentioned in story...

"What can you give Shinji that one of us cant?"
"I'm a gymnast."
Well fuck.

Shinji needs to show off at some point, if only so Asuka can have a 'Where the hell did that come from' reaction.

Perfectly understandable. Given that they're already screwing in this story though, it came off to me more as, "you're a pig for noticing that, you should only care about her mind!"

Just something to file away as part of the lessons of communicating over a medium that doesn't carry tone, I guess.

As she doesn't pop on the SV or the IRC channels on her own (being 5), she doesn't have an SN of her own, so I usually refer to my daughter as the Imp of Chaos.

Ok, making myself write now. Update by Monday night or bust.

wait....

aren't all kids their locally ordained priests/priestess of discord and chaos?

Well, yeah, I'm perfectly comfortable contemplating the fact that the main characters are in a sexual relationship because of the effect that relationship has on their psychological state and motivations.

Huh? But I even included a funny picture:
...to show that I was somewhat tongue-in-cheek about the whole thing.

When I was helping teach Sunday School (well, Shabbat School, but it's the same idea), the term "herding cats" tended to come to mind.
