Huh. I was beginning to write an argument about how I think they are not witchbombed, because Kazumi Numero Uno is still alive, they don't behave like people with a protracted death sentence looming above their heads, yadda yadda, but then I had a thought:
Why exactly did Kazumi conceal that she was running high on Grief?
Worst-case scenario ( the unwitched version ) would happen is she loses her magic.
Did she try not to worry them, because it was not that big of a deal?
Or did she know exactly what will happen, and sacrifice herself? That would be strange, but understandable. And well, stranger things have happened in Asunaro.

So yeah, confirming seems like a good idea now.
Though I still have some reservations:
Sabrina has her foot firmly planted in her mouth. This is a fact of life. Nah, it's a universal constant. Like Law of Cycles.
So, while we could try cajoling our way out of the problem, it would be better not to get there in the first place. But that's just bad experience talking, don't mind me.

Asking about Yuuri's Witch Seed seems like a decent idea now...
That will not backfire horribly in any way...

Also. If Anri knows, does it mean Kanna knows too? Did QB only tell her she is a copy, or did he drop all the other revelations on top?

Edit2: oh, and the plan looks good, Kkutlord. Except Kazumi sisters part. Do we need to unleash more cuteness upon this world? The timeline can bear only one Kazumi at a time. Seriously though, doesn't a clone need a soul? The only way we have seen a Soul created besides, er, the usual one, is a Wish...

@Raiseth: I'm pretty sure the main reason is that Kazumi doesn't want her friends putting up with higher levels of corruption, all so she can get a proper cleanse. That, or so the Pleiades wouldn't go out hunting more as while they're Magical Girl heroines fighting a Witch is still pain. So basically, she was either trying to keep her friends happy and/or alive (plus there are independents who need Seeds too). Of course, the fact they're hardly drowning in Grief Seeds... An aware Kazumi could of decided to sacrifice herself so the Pleiades could use her Grief Seed (cause that ends well).

Regarding Hijiri knowing... Unless Anri told her or she put two & two together (Our Soul Gems produce the stuff Grief Seeds absorb and they look similar) then Kyubey wouldn't bother telling her. Still, that's one possible result of my vote since the phrasing for the "Anri needs help" line does mention the possibility of Anri losing herself to grief. Thus Hijiri is sure to notice if she's aware.

My pet theory is that magical girls try as hard as they can not to dwell on it. Subconsciously suppressing similarities maybe? Because, admit it, becoming an eldritch abomination who other girls will fight for a time before succumbing to it themselves is a horrible thought. In no way a teenager who believes in magic and sparkles is equipped to follow that train of nasty.
They clearly don't have Mage: the Ascension in Japan. Or even plain ol' D&D...

Promising to restore Yuuri sounds like a bad idea, not gonna lie

One, it drastic ally increases the chances of witch bombing the Saints, two, it's a dangerous promise to make to a dangerous person who is known to be unstable

Just...please reconsider
 
@kinigget: Well that's why it is important to confirm Yuuri's Grief Seed actually is available. Making a promise to dewitch Yuuri only works if Yuuri's soul can be retrieved, and while the Incubators would be interested in it... Convincing Kyubey to give back Yuuri's Seed would be one heck of a feat (since logically any Grief Seed would do for the experiment). Thus if Yuuri's soul isn't an option, then Sabrina would have to instead go "What would Yuuri do" to defuse Anri. Grief-stricken she may be, I doubt Anri would be happy for long knowing she tarnished Yuuri's memory. Besides, the Pleiades are the best shot Sabrina knows of for her dewitching experiments- She'll inevitably have to unless she wants to lie and say "I want to save even the Witches, so they can co-exist with us" (which will get them Witchbombed anyways following a success).

@Raiseth: Kazumi XIII at the very least has a soul, as she was able to make a contract. So even non soul-specced meguca can end up creating souls which... Actually makes the Soulguca sound kind of scary, depending on if she's able to ex nihilo contract-worthy souls. Seriously, I wouldn't be too surprised if Sayaka is unable to copy her power as well. Regarding meguca in general, I honestly think it is at least partially a cultural thing as Tart was completely unfazed upon learning Meguca are Witches. Still, Kyubey's disarming nature combined with obliviousness of even having a soul... I imagine most Meguca just assume they're like Sailors or Pretty Cures since why would anyone automatically assume they're condemning their souls to become eldritch nightmares?

Also true. The problem is, as I see it, at least ( and partially why agreed with Kkutlord ), is that we don't have a choice.
Restoring Yuuri is the only thing that we can promise Airi that'd ( probably ) make her stop plotting a protracted revenge on Constellation girls for murdering her waifu benefactor.
Another alternative is Gemming her. And we agreed not to do that, I think. We did agree not to Gem anybody, did we?
Well, we can always try beating her into submission. That won't work, though, because she is borderline psychotic and half-measures won't stop her. So, Gemming or killing. Or trying to reason with her.

And trying to reason... well. We are not a therapist. Airi's crazy is straightforward. She wants revenge. She won't likely listen to anything Pleiades will have to say for themselves, even if they knew the whole situation and tried to defend their actions. Reparations via restoring the object of revenge, no matter how callous it sounds, is the course that is most likely to work.
Feel free to pick on my train of thought, it's all speculation on my front.

There are no circumstances under which she will drop her grudge

@Redshirt Army: If Sabrina wants to work with the Pleiades on dewitching, they will inevitably find out no matter how much she tries to hide the truth. Besides, nobody is trying to launch a Witchbomb anyways. The most that's going on is merely checking if a select few individuals (Anri, Hijiri, Kazumi) already know and even then that's by dropping hints only someone who does know would recognize.

Besides, regarding Anri, the whole "Give her Yuuri's Grief Seed" idea is about defusing her. Sabrina wants to help every Magical Girl she can, and just beating up Anri to retrieve the Clear Seed doesn't fit her. Sabrina knows how much it currently sucks to be Anri, and that if she doesn't do anything Anri will cause harm/death (probably her own) or worse Witchout. Getting captured and subdued by the Pleiades as she is will most likely result in her Witching out, the feeling of powerlessness & that she 'failed' Yuuri certainly won't make her easier to talk to.

Does this Michuru know?
If she does, then she is likely to oppose any our attempts to Witchbomb anyone, our current argument about whether we should do this at all non withstanding.

In particular, my reason for putting this out like this is that I think both finding something Hijiri can latch is important, and this is a possible way to do so without invoking our own status. (I don't have a problem with talking about it if done carefully, though a lot of other people seem to.)

As for Oriko and Kirika, I don't want to chance the two of them being stuck in a situation where we're not informing them of developments and the Saints aren't either because we brought them in and they think we're handling informing them.

And confirm whether the Seed Airi was likely looking for is within reach.

We know there is this Meguca who would kill us under certain circumstances without us being able to reason her out of it because her wish screwed up her mind. However we can defuse her -- by keeping Oriko safe and friendly to us. Yes I was referring to 'best buddy'.

We may have to Gem or even Kill Meguca at some point, but I would prefer to exhaust any and all possible alternatives before that.

We aren't capable of reasoning with Airi, and compromising with her is unacceptable. The only solution available to us is to remove or mitigate her motive for plotting the deaths of the Pleiades.

Kirika and Oriko were worth saving, Hijiri and Airi are worth the attempt as well.

I would much, much rather gem Airi than witchbomb everyone present (including Mami!) at this point in time, and I don't believe we can pull the grief seed gambit off without a witchbomb.

@Redshirt Army: Confirming the whereabouts of Yuuri's Grief Seed really isn't a Witchbomb risk, as going "This Witch killed Yuuri so let's give Anri the Seed" doesn't sound that suspicious. The only thing that is potentially problematic is what Anri does and not only is Sabrina incapable of doing so yet we don't even know where Yuuri is. So even if Yuuri's Grief Seed is available, we have plenty of time to figure out a way to minimize or prevent the risk of a Witchbomb. Ideally Sabrina would confront her with smaller numbers anyways, as arriving in full force is likely to set Anri off. Really, having Kirika and Oriko along as examples of Sabrina's intention of saving & redeeming Magical Girls would probably help.

What would Mami think when she eventually discovers the truth about witches and finds that we Gemmed or Killed a girl rather than risk her finding out?

Because I don't believe she'd approve!

I wouldn't say we have complete confiration thst Hijiri is behind everything, given how incoherent Anri is right now, but it doesn't really change how we proceed, so I'll leave it

She wouldn't approve, but anything is better than a Tetris situation. Granted, Tetris situations only happen because she thinks that Magical Girls becoming Witches is an inevitability, and the risk of that happening is very low considering Sabrina makes the need for Grief Seeds irrelevant.
