NOTE: "As of this writing" does not include
@anon_user 's vote immediately above, and I'm not going back to revise for it. I'm not sure her vote changes the analysis, though.
Now, we have overwhelming frontrunners for the CARD and ROM votes.
As of this writing, the leaders for the REPORT votes are:
(32 votes) Horizon Harmony Diplomatic Posture Report
(26 votes) Cardassian Logistics and Deployment requirements
(26 votes) GBZ: Konen Fleet Strength
(17 votes) Ship Analysis Report: Klingon Bird-of-Prey Mark II
(14 votes) Interstellar Commonwealth Diplomatic Posture Report
(11 votes) Klingon Fleet Strength Report
...
Some runners-up...
(9 votes) Klingon Diplomatic Posture
(7 votes) Klingon Diplomatic Posture on their Rimward Border
(7 votes) Yrillian Shipyard Activity
(7 votes) Arcadian Empire (that is, Licori) Diplomatic Posture Report
(7 votes) Update on the Hishmeri Situation
(4 votes) Klingon Diplomatic Posture Report
There are a wealth of other options that attracted three or four votes each; the only one I consider to be of any note is that "Dylaarian Federation Diplomatic Posture Report" and "Dylaarian Diplomatic Posture Report" attracted a total of six votes, mine included.
For reference, my own REPORT votes were
[][REPORT] Horizon Harmony Diplomatic Posture Report
[][REPORT] Cardassian Logistics and Deployment requirements
[][REPORT] GBZ: Konen Fleet Strength
[][REPORT] Ship Analysis Report: Klingon Bird-of-Prey Mark II
[][REPORT] Klingon Diplomatic Posture on their Rimward Border
[][REPORT] Dylaarian Diplomatic Posture Report
Now, if the votes for "Klingon Diplomatic Posture" and "Klingon Diplomatic Posture Report" are merged they come to a total of 13, enough to edge out "Klingon Fleet Strength Report"
even before we count the seven votes (mine included) for "Rimward Border" reports. In the interests of consolidation I'm going to reword my 'Klingon diplomacy' vote choice accordingly, bringing us to 14, tying the ISC diplomatic posture vote. If the other "Rimward Border" reports are factored in, either way "Klingon diplomacy' in general has 20 votes and climbs well up the chart.
So the question is then, in effect:
Is knowing ISC diplomatic posture more, or less, important than knowing Klingon fleet strength? Those are the two other options vying for sixth place, for now at least.
I would argue that since ISC diplomatic posture seems both sensible and simple, the size of the Klingon fleet is a more pressing concern this year. I will seek out a diplomatic posture report on the ISC in the near future, though, because I want to learn more about them and see them develop into the game.
(Likewise with the Harmony; but I want their posture NOW because they're the ones who are making demands of our ships and attacking when we don't comply. Understanding who they are and what they want is imperative to avoiding a very unwanted war with them).
So I'm changing my request for Dylaarian diplomatic posture, not because I deem it irrelevant, but because it has minimal support this year in particular, and we have a lot of unknown X-factors to fill in.
