As much as I like sap, we are still on a mission and we have other people in the room. We should keep our sap reasonably quiet. We should let Mami take some time to catch up with Kazusa, I'd rather not talk over her unless she finds herself unable to continue. When she's done talking, we should introduce ourselves and negotiate a visit. We need to let Mami handle things as much as she can, it'll be good for her. If at all possible we/Mami should work in a question about other girls in the area and meeting them and that should be most of what we need to know to make our decisions about the visit.

I'm flip-flopping on whether we want to mention what we can do, based on who might be listening, but it could prompt an important response if she and/or the Saints are under any kind of strain right now. It doesn't sound like it, but I trust exactly nothing about Asunaro.

Lots of catching up to do...

I'm even less comfortable with the idea of bringing a Homu+O/K team to Asunaro now that I know that one of the dangers there is a power copier. We'd be giving her a chance to steal three of the most game-breaking powers around. Best crew for that, I think, would be those whose powers can't be copied (Sabrina) and whose powers need lots of practice to be useful (Mami).

While I agree on letting Mami make an informed decision, someone witching out in front of Mami isn't a concern: it's nigh-impossible for someone to witch out within 100 meters of Sabrina.

It seems like the Seeds keep producing more grief (we should really confirm that, if we haven't already), in which case getting the Seed pays off more in the long term.

I don't know if what I added is any good, but I thought I'd at least try. Before I actually put the X's in though I wanted to ask for others opinions. Ughhhhh I'm soooo nervous, fuck it.

Hijiri isn't a power-copier. Her wish gave her, specifically, the power sets of the Pleiades in particular. Oriko is not concerned about her copying our group's powers and she never demonstrates the ability in KM canon.

Firn could curve-ball us, sure, but based on the information we DO have, this isn't a thing in play.

Whether she can copy our powers or not, I feel like we should treat her as the most dangerous known entity in play and take the same approach we did with Oriko. We time stop as soon as we're done with meeting the Saints, we find her and we figure out if she's contracted yet. We do not give her a chance to even figure out we're a threat or what we're capable of. Our approach should be to ensure that we see her before she sees us.

Just aiming to fill out a long conversation and gather and exchange info here. Also I'm guessing that a lot of Mami's problem right now is that she's fallen out of touch with an old friend, so finding a good, serious business reason for the two to keep in contact should do her well. Long term science exchange might work well for that.
 
We don't want to leave the Mikuni-Kures just yet, after we're finished talking to Kazusa and then we want to timestop and ask Homura for her take on how to approach this and who to take, filling her in as necessary on the threats we'll be facing. Ultimately, it's safer for everyone if she comes with us and if there's any conditions or way she'd feel safe leaving Madoka to help clean up Asunaro, we'd be in her debt. This way if Homura signs off on taking Oriko, Kirika or both, we don't have to awkwardly contact them just after leaving. Seeing as we're taking Mami anyway, I think we'll be alright having her in the timestop with us for this conversation.

It was a confluence of two events that occur right around the beginning of the manga: Hijiri field testing Evil Nuts Asunaro Almonds and the Pleiades finishing Kazumi #13.

The aforementioned Almonds are basically hypodermic needles of Grief; when put into a human, they bring out the darkness in one's heart to the fore, causing them to get themselves tied up in some nasty shit while slowly transforming them into a weak pseudo-Witch (unknown if they have any effect on males, as all of the victims in PMKM are women; when used on a magical girl, it attempts to Witch them out, and when used on Kazumi, it degenerates her chimaera body, causing her to briefly go berserk when sufficiently stressed).

In this particular case, the victim is a female detective from the local police department-- she's (one of) the only woman in the force, and thus the subject of scorn and ridicule; with the influence of Hijiri's weapon, she cooks up a false flag bomb plot that she can bust to inflate her own prestige: A local restaurant owner's being forced out of business by the newly-opened mega-mart nearby, so she hooks him up with a big ol' briefcase full of bomb. However, he ends up colliding with the girl transporting the new Kazumi clone, who happens to have had an identical brand of giant suitcase; they get mixed up, and when he tries blowing up the shopping center, he gets the 'is this real life' experience of a nude amnesiac middle school girl bursting out of the luggage instead.

Needless to say, he needs a day to rethink his life decisions up to this point. They end up heading back to his place-- I don't remember offhand if Kazumi succeeds in persuading him not to go through with the bomb plot, but the Pleiades ring him up to organize an exchange, since they discovered they got a bomb where a Kazumi was supposed to be. Right as they're set to make the exchange, though, the bust happens, and the bomb gets armed accidentally; Umika and Kaoru make a timely intervention, but since nobody present knows how to disarm a bomb in thirty seconds, Kaoru kicks it into the ceiling instead, where it's revealed the bomb was a fake, exploding into confetti. Police girl is publicly humiliated, Kaoru and Umika take Kazumi home, take her shopping the next day while they catch up, leave her home that evening while they're out hunting, police girl swings by to interrogate/murder Kazumi as the Evil Nut finishes transforming her. Fortunately, its possible to beat her up until the Evil Nut runs out of power/is destroyed without killing the host, as Kazumi discovers she's (technically not exactly) a magical girl.

Stapled my beginng to Godwinson's ending, since most of Godwinson's vote is better, but I think it's pretty important to hit those two points.

A lot of what we've heard from Mami is about what she should do (and lately, doing what we want her to do). So if she wants to spend time with old friends she may not be able to because she has "better things to do" but if we make spending time with old students and friends part of "better things to do" we can ensure her emotional needs and her sense of duty are aligned.

In the same vein, I think that encouragement of Mami can take two forms: "I find you talking with old friends heartwarming" (we desire it emotionally) or "You know Kazusa better" (It's more practical for her to speak with Kazusa) I mention this because as with the above, just encouraging her to do things for herself hasn't really worked and she's been looking a lot at doing things because we want them to happen.
