I thought briefly on Unit-01's pseudo-evolution, and I think that's the treatment the JSSDF and the MP Evas get.

Gendo? The man who (would) hurt the world to spite it for taking Yui away? Again, what Shinji would do to him would make Dummy Plugs look tame. Actually, I'm thinking of the Rainy Devil from Bakemonogatari. You know, the episode where they changed the colors on screen because Kiyomi was being so thoroughly mangled and they wanted to keep the rating from skyrocketing.

It should be noted that Unit-01 doesn't have an S2 engine, this continuity, just Unit-04. Could SHINJI switch places with Asuka if/when EoE roll around?

Ugh...all this talk of MP Evas and intestine nomming is most unsettling.

But I have a way to turn horror into lols.

Rei's response if Asuka was the one hurt could also be... interesting. Shinji can only kill Gendo horribly once. With Lilith's power and some applied Metaphysical Biology theory, Rei might not have that limitation...

I have this scene in my head.
Shinji is in Unit-01. Gendo holding Asuka hostage, threatening to shoot her if Shinji doesn't stand down, but planning to kill her anyway. Shinji suspects this, so his response?
"If you touch one hair on Asuka, I'll self-destruct the core, and you will never see Mom again."
Or something along those lines.
I just really like the idea that the best way to make Gendo fold is to threaten Yui. The potential breakdown and subsequent humiliation amuses me. I can just see him begging whoever is holding the trigger not to press it.

Asuka wins because Shinji is concentrating more on clearing a path for her, and Kaworu is busy ending the world on the small scale (namely, whoever hurt Rei gets to have their world end first).

There's also the old question of if Rei is even physically capable of having kids, either due to a lack of the "equipment" or genetic incompatibility, due to her altered genes.

Been stuck for a bit on concept for the next couple scenes, but I've worked out something, finally. Will get to writing this week, one way or the other.

To hint:

Rei makes a surprising request, that produces entirely the wrong idea.

Kaji is sneaky.

And SEELE learns something Gendo does not want them to know.
