We can find out first by pinging Mami.

Is this one of those things we aren't allowed to tell her about?
Eh. This would be creepy for sure, but I don't think this is dangerous to tell her. Witches do this because they are made of grief. Sabrina does it because she controls grief. Seems logical, and doesn't really draw any lines she wouldn't have already made herself. Pinging Mami is a good idea though.

Make some noise!
We got some new toys!

Okay.....okay calm down.

[] Let there be light
[] Cackle in triumph
[] Test range
[] Test time dilation on rocks.
[] See if you can carry the barrier with you
[] Stow Grief in your new holster

Since the barrier was so easy to make, I think the theory that we need to know what we want and have to be able to visualize it to create it, has some merit.

Edit:
Sabrina's thoughts, while creating it could also be a subtle hint.
You remember. You remember how the Witch Barrier looked. You remember how it looked. You bring your will to bear on the Grief.

We've communicated just fine in witch barriers before. And this is essentially a witch barrier.
Have we? I can't remember where. And even if we have talked to others within the barrier, have we ever tried to telepathy someone outside it?

List of things we could test about the barrier (not a vote - feel free to steal any ideas):
[] Inside the barrier:
-[] Try to detect the grief that we left outside the barrier (rush outside and recapture it if not).
--[] Form the grief into two atomic clocks, one outside and one inside.
--[] Move grief objects back and forth between through the entrance; study them carefully.
-[] "Let there be light" (in witch language)
-[] Try to telepathy Mami.
-[] Check if the cellphone gets service.
-[] Check if we can compress or expand space.
-[] Check if we can compress time inside the barrier (leave the barrier and verify compression on the clock which is left inside, if this works, come back in and check it personally; leave on the compression so that we have more time for experiments).
-[] Check if we can change the gravitational constant within the barrier
-[] Measure grief control radius, see if grief handles differently.
-[] Check if we can will things into existence without using grief: an ordinary wooden block, Infinity Gauntlets, a Soul Gem Scanner
-[] Try to create a familiar.
-[] Create a target which measures velocity. Create and test a small railgun to fire hammers. Create and test a slightly larger railgun.
-[] Create a new exit, see where it leads.
[] Outside the barrier:
-[] Scan the barrier with the tricorder.
-[] How large is the barrier in physical space? Study it carefully, can we learn anything new?
-[] Check the atomic clocks.
-[] Move the entrance, adjust its size.
-[] Try and create a second entrance to our barrier that is very close to the first entrance on the inside of the barrier but is far from the first entrance on the outside of the barrier.
--[] Throw a rock through the pair of entrances to see if we can use them as a form of Nightcrawler style teleportation.
--[] Test if we can extend our grief manipulation range past 100 meters by using the entrances as a wormhole to reduce the distance between two points outside of the barrier.
-[] Check if we can create 2 unconnected barriers
-[] Send a ball of grief holding a rock into the barrier, and check if we retain control over it.
-[] Close the barrier; what happens to the grief and the rock left within?
-[] Recreate the barrier, then move more than 100m away, does it persist? Do grief objects within it persist?

I'm thinking we should make sure we know how to exit our own barrier.

Also, once we are outside the barrier, we should try and see if, with minimal passive focus, we can make the barrier follow us around so that we can use it as a Bag of Holding, similar to how Homura stores her weapons. Would be particularly nice if we could figure this out before our shopping trip with Homura later today.

But yeah this barrier should have some interesting experiments to pull. We should definitely see if we can distort time in here.

[x] Let there be Light.

Also, I want to be able to mold our barrier to do this:

I'm serious, I want to know if this is possible. Except with the whole room looping like that.

I sort of want to see if we can twist our barrier into all sort of fun, higher dimensional shapes, like a klein bottle or something.

But yea, we don't have too much time. Need to focus on some important stuff.
- Light?
- Barrier size? (I am going to guess at a 100m radius sphere (or possibly hyper-sphere) at the biggest we can do, but good to check)
- "Portable" entrance to "expand" our marble bag (and give our own super versatile hammer space)?
- Move outside world side of entrance around?
- Multiple entrances? Use like a wormhole if so?

I definitely agree that time distortion is high priority to test due to it being able to increase how much science time we get in general, but I'd much rather make sure our barrier is safe for us to use first.

Its almost time for us to go meet everyone for lunch and I don't want to risk a failed experiment in time distortion causing us to miss lunch.

Another thing that would be nice to test would be the similarities and differences between our barrier and a Reality Marble, since conceptually they are very similar and a Reality Marble can do literally anything.

Also, now that we have our own barrier we can test all those crazy ideas that are too flashy to use outside of a barrier but are rather dangerous to do when surrounded by familiars.

@techsy730 I like the wormhole idea. Lets see if we can exit the barrier, create a second entrance that outside the barrier is at the edge of our grief manipulation range, but inside the barrier is right next to the first entrance, and then see if we can extend our range by using the two entrances similarly to a Wi-Fi Repeater.

[x]Cackle. A lot.
[x]Ping Mami, just in case.
[x]Study your barrier. See if the void has limits.
[x]Try making a floor out of magic, then use grief marbles if that doesn't work.
[x]Try summoning objects out of the void. See what happens to grief marbles...and if you can dissipate one or two in the void.

I'm slightly scared about pinging Mami about this. Something tells me that the fact that the act of pinging her as part of a crazy grief experiment will make her super worried for our safety. Creating a barrier also gets uncomfortably close to the witchbomb. Maybe we should ping Homura or Oriko instead?

Edit: Idea, Unlimited Hammer Works, anyone?

Unbased paranoia. We already manipulate grief, so creating a barrier isn't so crazy that it'll witchbomb. We've always been able to ping from inside barriers before, so I don't see what it'll be a problem. We're trying to be more open with Mami anyway.

We're just pinging her to see if we can. Just a "hi".

Besides, we are planning to use our power eventually, and it's distinct enough from "lol Witch LSDland" to avoid the biggest issue.
