Family Matters:
"Bruce wait!" Debbie screamed, trying to stop you from the knee-jerk reaction that you had when you looked at the pool
You almost screamed in horror as you saw your littlest boy under the water at the pool, and it made you spring into action faster than you thought you could move. It was almost immediate, you were in the water, you were diving down beneath the water, trying to reach Joseph…
And then you saw him move, you saw him wave, as if nothing was wrong, nothing had happened and he went up to the surface with a smile on his face, bubbles coming out as he exhaled.
As you reached the surface, you shouted. "Joseph what are you doing!"
Your youngest said nothing, but he only took a breath and dove back under again. And it was very much something he had expected to happen, as Sarah and Mary seemed to clap as Joseph continued to swim towards the shallows, to join his sisters.
And when he reached them, he sat down and giggled.
At that, you looked toward Debbie who only seemed less surprised at the wonderful scene in front of her. "Bruce, I get that this is a surprise, but, you should have seen them! They all learned to swim watching you."
You didn't feel anything but a sense of embarrassment overtaking you. And it made you think of what else you may have missed from them.
------------------------------------------------------------
That night you and Carrie both lay in bed, holding each other, as you sighed. It was simple, silly even to have such a cuddly position, but instead of the wonderful…
Well, you should have thought expected nightly dalliance of what you both loved, both you and Carrie just enjoyed feeling each other. There was a lot on your mind despite the obvious wish to focus on other things.
Other things took priority. "Bruce, sorry I didn't tell you that Joseph has been swimming like that, I had thought you knew?"
"It's fine Carrie, just scared the shit out of me that's all." You replied. You both locked eyes and then you could see there were other things on her mind. "Okay, you want to say something, so say it?"
"You know how we said that we would take control of our lives first before we started thinking about having more children?"
At that, you realized what she wanted. "I hope you aren't asking for what I think you're asking?"
There was a giggle from your wife and you "While the thought did occur so that we can delay making Star Wars for another year, I was not going to do that to Steve."
At that, you both began laughing. "Well at least that's one thing George and Steve don't need to worry about." You said. "Though that is going to be very hard, given the outfit that they designed for you."
She continued laughing before she whispered. "Oh yeah, I'm wearing that one night and giving you a show that only you get."
"You better not be making me a promise." You said.
"Oh, it will be a promise… But…" She paused. "How many more kids do you think you want to have?" She asked.
"How many, Carrie you're the one who will have to do all the work?" You questioned. "Why are you asking me? I don't want to hurt you or put any kind of pressure on you for that. That should be your decision, not mine."
Carrie sighed. "But it is mine, and that's why I'm talking about it with you. We have three beautiful children and if you think that's enough, then we can end this discussion right now. But I just want to talk to you about all this… to make sure we both are on the same page. Because there are things I want, and what you want."
"And what do you want Carrie?" You asked.
Carrie only looked away for a moment, as if she wanted to say something more. "I wouldn't mind a few more, God willing. But I also know that our lives are stressful enough with having to juggle the professional and the personal, and you know George and Mike have those same problems… we've been doing well so far… I just don't want to end up in Mom's situation. Where I make the wrong choices."
"Carrie." You paused, thinking of what you want to say.
What do you say to Carrie?:

AN: Once again, it would have been longer, but it was so damn stressful today that it needed to get done.
