Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

There is a difference, and I will say this:

Those new ideas may be some modern comic books that they may use.
Shit, now you've got me hooked.
[X]Wait until Tomorrow (the script will be seen by the crew, and people will have a reaction roll)
As much as I dread the idea of it rolling poorly, the other two just don't catch my attention. So I'll be going with this one.
[X]Charlton gains hope (The new ideas are quite cool and the readers love it)
Realistically, I have plenty of other opportunities to increase Charlton sales, but the opportunity to expand their catalogue is incredibly valuable. Therefore, I'll go with this one

The satanic panic lowering was way better as it will not be as disastrous and also many would not be ostracized as they were because a child thought they were a sinner

This is like the tenth time or so Magoose has offered to lower the power of the Satanic Panic and people still refuse to take it. I don't understand, you're essentially being given the choice to make the environment better for releasing bold films and you refuse.

And oh boy am I about to make things interesting with that.

The issue for me is that Faith: The Unholy Trinity is very dependent on the Satanic Panic for it's influences and it didn't make sense to me to try and remove them, as it would essentially defang the series. Yeah, films like this would be more accepted, but then they wouldn't really be "bold" anymore, would they?

There is still a chance of a blowback. So far we've been able to use the "Moral Panic" to our advantage, but at some point I fear that it may grow too strong for us.

Even so, I still want to do the movie. I've been watching the videos and so far it seems intriguing and actually terrifying.

Well, fingers crossed for that then.

Worse come to worse, the idea room basically just cans it in its inception and be only considered in maybe 20 or 30 years later.

That would honestly really suck since I really like the casting choices I've made for the series so far, including the ones not yet seen by y'all.

Well, there is the other option of rewriting into an action horror, where the priest grabs a shotgun cross ala Constantine and start blasting.

It is going to be utterly against the spirit, but it will pass and be released.

The maybe retry in the future with a reboot.

Faith is already like that for the most part, but it's more pronounced in Chapter 2 and 3. Not so much shotgunning demons, but definitely fighting increasingly more worrying demons in more intense fights. The only weapon you have for most of the games is your crucifix, although you do pick up a gun at least once that I remember. The shotgun is more Father Garcia's thing.

If I may, I think that perhaps we could divided in different movies. The first chapter (or movie) could then be adapted as John being in the asylum and having nightmares, dealing with the shadows of the past, revealing how Amy was possessed, what Father Garcia did (save for the reveal near the end of the game) and John having to face his demons (perhaps literally as he has to keep his faith against an entire group that is telling him it's not real) both literally adn figuratevily. The final part of the movie could then be him going to the house in order to attempt the exorcism once more (as that part may actually be where all the action is).

I like it, although I think your iteration as presented spends a little bit too much time in the Asylum as opposed to the Martin home. Nothing that can't be workshopped, but that's just how I feel. Part of the problem with having him spend so much time in the Asylum though is that IIRC there's actually a part in the third? chapter of the game where we get a little more of what happened in the asylum and I think it just tips the hand too much on the larger stuff. One of the things I love about Faith is how it starts off as a pretty normal possession and John approaches it as such, albeit a personally traumatic one for him, but as he goes along he discovers just how deep everything goes and how out of his depth he is. I think it'd be a shame to spill that too early, but like I said, that'd ultimately come down to workshopping. I still like your idea and this is just how I personally feel. Also just fyi, I am already splitting it into different films, with it being a trilogy with one film for each chapter of the game.

[x]Start Something (Something has been started.)

Why must we court the satanic panic? This will only blow up in our faces and get us infront of a televised congressional panel about negative influences in media and ruin Bruce's reputation. What's next we make the 'Many faces of Jesus' next?

Turn 83 (January 1981)
Turn 83 (January 1981):

It all began, with a phone call. "Mike please tell me we didn't discover some Alien crap from Fox on our property again?"

"What the hell, no, not that, it's the directors and George, they're holding court." That was a surprise.

"Alright, um… are they back?"

"For a given value yes… You'd better come down."

They must have spent the vacation being productive. But then again, you also realized something was wrong when every one of the directors was there.

But that wasn't the only good news.

The Writers Room Rolls:

Robert Zemekis Wrote:

Back to the Future Part 2: Quality:D100 + 200 => 278

Robert was working with one of his friends, Bob Gale, and… the script for Back to the Future was pretty damn good… but this one had left you with questions.

And you wanted to know about other things… like the time travel aspects.
---------------------------------------

John Milnius Wrote:

Snow White and the Huntsman: Quality:D100 + 200 => 279

John was on break for filming Red Dawn, and had a few days to play with, and he locked himself into a room with Dave Alister, and a copy of the Brothers Grimm.

He wrote that script in a few hours with Dave and it's been enlightening.

He called it "Cinema Therapy." and judging by how he seemed a lot better... you think its working.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Dave Alister Wrote:

Star Wars: Death Troopers: Quality: D100 + 200 => 289

Dave for his part… went behind Georges' back and wrote a horror movie. About Zombies in Star Wars, and he really went all out on the gory, gruesome details.

Also, he wanted you to be in it as a surprise cameo, but that seemed far-fetched for even you.

Why would Han Solo be in a zombie film? But the story itself was great and had the potential to show the evils of the empire.
--------------------------------------------

Paul Schrader Wrote:

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters: Quality: D100 + 200 => 285

You… didn't know anything about Mishima, and his books were not exactly something you would ever read.

But that was compelling to say the least.
-------------------------------------------------------

And that was the good news before you arrived to everyone's door.

"Alright, why am I here everyone? I thought you guys said you wanted a break?"

Steve was the one who spoke. "We did. And we had a break… but-"

"What bullshit are you going to drag me in this time guys?" You asked as everyone looked down to their feet. "Oh god, you're serious."

"Everyone wants to have you star in the film." Martin said. "Except Steve, he's got Indiana Jones and that Alien thing he wants to do."

You looked to Steve. "I thought you were busy?"

"Well. Inspiration hit me, what can I say."

You then looked to George. "Did you tell him about going back to Tunisia?"

At that pandemonium broke and Steve then turned to George. "Wait we're going back!"

As you turned away, you just said. "This is what you get Steve, for focusing on the new guys to be the only ones available for Mike, the next Star Wars film goes back to the Desert. Cause I'm going to miss evening Mass for this meeting."

Steve then looked to George. "There better be a good reason George!"

You shut the door, content with the chaos you created. If they wanted to talk to you about working on films, they should have sent it to your desk, at least it would be proper.

But at least everyone was back for the most part. Even if they only wanted to work with you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

At the Colombia/former Warner Lot, things, however, were getting… strange.

And by that, you meant you had a great idea. "We need to top the stunt work of the First Film." You said. "And how the hell am I going to do that. I have a batmobile yes… but… I also really want to fight 100 people at the same time."

Kathleen looked at you worried. "Um… that was just a joke Bruce!"

"Hey, it's what Batman would do?" You smiled. "Wouldn't he?"

I say we try speaking with Francis first. Perhaps he's ready for Dune and we can finally begin production there. Plus, I've been wanting for us to play Duncan Idaho for ages now.

Hey guys who wants to make a midnight mass pitch so we can the religious community see that those fake cults leaders are lying and trying to do their agenda on them
