Not feeling Lirpa, honestly. Its modern purpose is for a ritualized ceremony, whereas this hull is designed for war which is chaotic and the furthest thing from ceremonial.

Though I wouldn't mind a bird name as a sort of dab on the Romulans.

I think the Andorians would apreciate having a ship named after an important part of their culture, the Ushan-tor is a dueling weapon and an ice mining tool so its kind of the perfect name for a starfleet warship I think. Its the one I'm voting for anyways.

How's the new warship coming?

I've no idea what you're talking about. We're the Federation; we don't make warships.

Then what's that spaceship?

Oh, this 160k ton spaceship? It's for mining ice.

It has 4 phasors.

Of course, how else would we carve ice chunks off ice planets?

That would explain why the phasors can only fire forewards; but what are the torpedoes for?

Well not all ice is exactly the same. Some ice is harder than other ice. (Ice - Wikipedia) Right?

Yeah, of course, but I was asking about the torpedoes.

I was getting to that. For the harder types of ice, we have to break it up a bit before the phasers can cut it.

But you have two torpedo launchers! What kind of ice isn't vaporized by one torpedo, much less two!

Are you feeling okay? I already answered that - hard ice. Would you like me to escort you to medbay so you can lay down? Your face is turning a most alarming color.

1 Captain
1 Commander
2 Lieutenant Commanders (Chief Engineer, Ship's Doctor)
2 Lieutenants (Heads: Tactical, Security)
6 Lieutenant Junior Grades/Ensigns (Helmsman, Operations - 3 Shifts)

So 12 officers, 36 enlisted crew. Cook, transporter operator, engineering staff, able crewmen, etc. That's my feeling, anyway. Obviously the bigger the ship the more the officer ranks tend to elevate because department heads and bridge crew on-shift have to manage more people and other lower-ranked officers.
Thank you for the detailed break down! I mostly asked because the number was not displayed in the technical picture of the last post.

Lirpa is cool. It already VERY strongly shares a resemblance, and it gives our nonhuman members more prominence in starship names.

Also we used Ushaan for a ship in the last iteration of the quest.

tho I'll also settle for peregrine.
