Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Lords among the ashes great quest and he was not just Alexander the great he was like a mixture of all the good things of Alexander and Napoleon but in one person with Jedi battle meditation

Back to the quest at hand…

Yeah Carrie dice are technically a thing…

They simp harder then they need to

If the dice simp for Carrie, we should have her do all the work.

We'll be rolling in money and Oscar's in no time

I am just going to say this:

Carrie can't solve all our problems.

Mostly because we aren't… having any problems.

Also we have a lot of… potential.

Nope, they just give proper dues to the waifu, lol.

So it looks like Career is gonna win. While a bummer we won't see Goslings anytime soon, it honestly does make sense at this stage of their marriage and they can get a few good films in without having to worry about family needs, especially with Bruce spending months in Hong Kong for Kung Fu Kid. I guess at this rate Bruce and Carrie will have kids around the same time as Mark so the O'Brians and Hamills can be great friends.

Back to the update, two interesting things of note came to mind. One, Carrie has a finished screenplay and she's likely to solely go to Lucasflims, so there's another film to add to our current lineup of Star Wars, Rocky and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Really pumped to see what it is, whether it's one of the pitches or something original. As a good husband, we're definitely going to get involved either as a star, or director or producer. Hopefully we can convince George to start a third/fourth production since ILM has got the battles locked down in half a year and Marcia is making steady progress on editing. Guess from that point it's just a question of management for Kung Fu Kid or Carrie's movie.

Also apparently Debbie is outright looking for work so she's been freed from her contract at Universal, likely due to the shooting. Nothing too catastrophic at this point since it lines up with her OTL hiatus and at least here she's not under any debt from her ex and is close with Carrie so even with the wounds better than OTL. Should definitely do our best to aid her in a comeback.

On a Dream and a MASHED Prayer Turn 41 (November 1975)
On a Dream and a Prayer:

You looked at Lucille and honestly couldn't help but feel strange about the MASH contract. "Lucille, as much as I have enjoyed working on MASH, you are just… telling me to walk?"

"Not my choice kid, at least one that I want to make" She stated as she looked out the window. "I must have fired fifty people in the last six months, and still I find myself with emerging talent that is a fraction of the cost and losing so much in the way of scripts, that I can't even fill the damn room with enough episodes." She sighed. "But I'll be blunt kid, and don't take this personally. You are just too expensive, and too much of a risk to try and bet my company's future on that. Even if I trust my gut more than anything else. And with the new contracts I negotiated with the actors guild to get them on board to keep this place afloat, I can't afford you. And unlike previous times, I can't give you a pay cut because if I did, I'd lose my entire studio, because I already paid you the least out of everyone in the entire set, even with residuals."

You realized that you were, indeed the least paid, none extra of guest star, in the entire show. You were only making a few thousand dollars an episode. Alan was making somewhere close to a million. "Can't get anything from the actors guild? I can quit?"

"I'm not going to have you risk you're career and reputation for my show." She stated softly. "You're a damn good kid Bruce, and I think above all else, I really wish you the best of luck in whatever you do."

"Not going to try and make me stay for another show?" You asked.

"Kid, If I could, I would have made one for you, tailor-made to have you as the star." She replied. "But I don't have one yet. But once I do, I think you would be more than happy with it."

You smiled. "Thanks Lucille."

"Oh and Kid." She said as you stood up. "Just a word of warning for you."

You paused. "What is it?"

"Warners gonna Crash hard in the next few months, I know it." She stated. "Just don't get caught in the crossfire from the bidding wars that will come from the carrions after its corpse."

"How are you so certain Warner is going to fall, they seem to be a dammed institution in this town?" You asked.

"Let's just say some old friends are outright thrilled to finally strike back at those bastards." She smiled at that. "And one of them says they have the things that could bring it all down."

"And this impacts me how?" You asked.

"Ask Debbie about what they said to her when she was let go from her contract?" She replied.

Reward: due to the New Rules in Hollywood by the SAG and other unions, Lucille did what was best for her company. Letting you walk away from MASH with no strings attached.

And giving you some advice on what may come.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You were not feeling well before you looked at Carrie. "Um, so what's the big thing for Carrie O'Brian on this day?"

What Carrie is doing?:D5 => 2

"Writing a Screenplay based on all those massive notebooks and ideas that you have. Along with one that my mom had in her head for awhile that she needs help with." She stated sheepishly. "I mean, I know they are yours but, you've done almost nothing with them, and Dave and the Guys at the office already wrote a few movies already for Conan and that weird… another thing that is the talk? What's it called again?"

"Oh, Felix's Baby? Devil's Hour. Yeah, he was talking about it a lot, and worked on it with Issac and the other script team guys, to iron it out. They really have a good story, I just don't know how we can fund it right now. George and Mike have been pretty tight on the purse strings."

Carrie then smiled. "Oh, I'll just go by there, and see what they think is a good idea."

"If you can get Dave away from George for longer than an hour, I will be forever grateful." You offered.

"Sure." She replied. "Now I have to ask, for tonight, what should I wear?" She showed two long formal gowns. One red and one black. Though the black one had a nice white coloring that just looked better. Though the red one? A deep crimson? That was a very good look on her.

"And what is the occasion?" You asked.

"Mom's opening her collection at the museum, and I've been invited."

"The black one then." You replied. "Far more you with your mom."

Carrie then smiled. "Alright. Thanks, Bruce." And she went walking towards your room.

"Hey Bruce, can you help me with something?"

You raised an eyebrow and spoke slowly. "With?"

"You'll see."

You leaped at the opportunity to assist her.

And it was quite the thing. You enjoyed the little catwalk she did as she tested it out to make sure it was a perfect fit for her.

You were right of course. The Black dress was perfect for her.

Reward: New Actions Available.

For the next six months, Carrie will be focusing on writing Screenplays for Lucasfilms with the Lucasfilms screenplay team that has assembled by complete accident.

AN: Enjoy and vote in plan format.

Man, I'm wondering which one of our ideas is Carrie working on.

Warner going down... @Magoose , can we get their rights to Looney Toones, perhaps their animators as well? They could be damn useful for a small idea I had for Journey to the West.

If everything is going right with Star Wars we should have made the deal for comics with Marvel, that should tidy them up. But can we do something about the ownership of DC now that Warner is going under.

God damit our beloved roll. And actors cant wave there fee if they loved playing it or want to do it to save a production is impossible.

That depends on when, and how they go down.

And how we can possibly get involved in the buyouts.

Oh and so much more.
God damit our beloved roll and actors cant wave there fee if they loved playing or want to do it to save a production is impossible.
It's not our fault, but considering the massive changes in Hollywood right now, and how...

Under the old system, we were barely paid at all in terms of per-episode stuff.

Damn, sucks a lot about MASH. I was one of the ones who originally advocated for us to leave as soon as we could and not be tied down to the show, but it really sucks for us to leave like this thanks to the Guild being unreasonable assholes. Hopefully we at least get to guest star in an episode to have a proper goodbye for Radar and the MASH crew, either with him being a super spy or just shipping back home, and if we are CIA we can pop in every now and again once a season. At the very least this does free up our schedule considerably.

Also Magoose why aren't we going with Carrie to Debbie's collection? We are her beloved son-in-law.

As for the plan, here I want to focus on making movies and having everything come together as we become the Avengers of Hollywood. Help out George and Steve's Bros and make us the House of Talent. Help Steve push Close Encounters into production and remove George's silly road block. Check in with Stallone and have Rocky pretty poggers. Get distribution rights to Clint's film and make a shit load of mone while reviving the Western. Also find out just what the hell is going on with Warner and then enter the bidding wars proper.

Really wish we could use our newfound career freedom to audition, but we gotta fulfill our Olympics obligations and start the documentary. And hey, at the very least this is work so yeah.

As much as I want to have Carrie work on one of our greats, I think it would be better for Bruce as a husband to help her complete her current work to show he loves her and supports her goals always. Plus I'm pretty curious. Also since we're on the writing mood, I think we should do Marathon Madness. Even if Carrie is the writer in the marriage, I want us to at least have some decent writing stats through experience and we need to finish what we started. We can use our Olympics prep for inspiration, and I'd like for things to be equal between Carrie and Bruce in work and marriage to show she's not just the script dump and we're going to put in the effort as well.

It's less of a: We're the favored son in law we should be there, more:

"I want to spend this time with my daughter Bruce, I haven't had that in a while."

Okay yeah that's pretty fair. Bruce does have Carrie every day and as good as he is to Debbie sometimes a mom needs some alone time with her daughter.

Damn, beat me to putting a plan by seconds. I will suggest though that you should probably replace one of the last two actions with the editing action.

From what's been said in the past, Marcia has been pretty good at handling editing on her own and at minimum we have seven months to get to it. We need to be a good husband and support Carrie as always and Marathon Madness has just been sitting there for years in quest and I want to get it done soon, plus I think Bruce would be motivated seeing Carrie work to do a script all on his own and it's nice synergy.

Can't we just Buy CBS so they can have us in Mash forever

That'll probably cost tens of millions of dollars and I want to save up our money so we can go full ham on the Warner Bros Auction.

Fair enough

Hey everyone, just a quick PSA, I replaced Marathon Madness action with Last Cowboy because I didn't notice it before and it seems like Clint really needs some support for whatever he's going through and it synergizes with Josey Wales and can hopefully provide a boost.
