Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Lets see who blinks first.

Hint, it's not going to be the strikers unless the Feds get involved.

And the feds aren't interested just yet. :V

Well the final decision here would lie with Gerald Ford who should be President unless Bruce Butterflies somehow had Nixon avoid Watergate (It was never commented upon once in the story) or Nixon picked a different VP, which is a fair divergence since Nixon had a fairly large list with lots of names that he came close to. But anyways, assuming that Ford is President as OTL, then right now he's doing damage control over the decision to pardon Nixon, is incredibly unpopular, is dealing with a Democratic congressional supermajority, and his primary domestic concern is inflation. You could argue Ford would be motivated to take action over how the strike is negatively damaging the California economy and greater nation, but that's a very thin argument and Ford is a moderate with too much on his plate. If Ford does take action he'd be very likely to side with the strikers for an easy PR win if Hollywood is outed to the public as their scummy selves. He can't side with the studios without undeniable justification and moral right because doing so he alienates the moderate and liberal Republican wings he needs to secure nomination and makes an even greater enemy of a hostile Congress.

One of my friends is an Animator at Pixar and is part of one of the guilds.

Well if Don Bluth isn't the head of Lucasfilms Animation I guess we know who will be, lol.

Nope didn't change.

Good ole Gerry is still president.

Bruce dosen't have that kind of power yet to cause that powerful of a butterfly effect.

Not yet at least.

Although that depends on how... certain things happen.

I have a plan in case that happens.

He wouldn't be an animator at Pixar until the 2000's he's far to young now for that.

Can I just say how glad I am to see you take this approach? Far too many people adhere to an idea of "you move a chair and the Eiffel Tower gets blown up" kind of butterflies and it's always been infuriating to me. If I chose to wear white socks instead of black, that would affect fuck all. I don't want to get too into it because otherwise I'm going to start getting all pissy but I really appreciate that you aren't introducing butterflies just because.

Oh and one more thing.

I am going to pull QM rank, to go straight to Star Wars production.

not because I'm not willing to get the extra turn, but because I think this Star Wars production is going to be awesome.

Even the butterflies we do have, have been rather minor and local...

Kinda.

Sure Carrie not being addicted to drugs can have a great effect later down the line, both for her life and others, and Debbie divorcing her husband early and being a friend with Clint might change things... Actually, they will change things around Hollywood if it continues...

But honestly, it's not going to be a grand change for the greater political landscape of the world... or even America or California.

Now this strike is anything but a small thing, however, how the world reacts to it can affect it.

Yet I am not going to change the world because of one Goose.

Not until it becomes appropriate.

I'm both excited and terrified for how Star Wars will come out.

Since the costumes are not under budget, I'd say it'll be more closer to what George visioned the characters to look like.

I wonder if our SFX is more advanced than the OGT Version with more budget allowing them to go full throttle on experimentation..also we should check on our computers if we need new upgrades.

How's Atari doing anyway?

I hope a +100 to SFX means we can have an epic Battle of Yavin that is more than just 32 Rebel starfighters against 9 TIEs. We can still keep it dogfight only, but more Starfighters on both sides would be great as I'm always a sucker for titanic scale in science fiction.

Another notable change that comes to mind is we can show off Prequel level force abilities and Jabba the Hutt will make an introduction instead of Jabba the Scottish mobster.

Star Wars Production 1
Star Wars Production 1:

You and George were sitting on the plane, trying to get some sleep on the Transatlantic flight, but you were not exactly feeling tired. In fact, you were getting nothing in the way of sleep. Tunisia was something you were going to be happy to see, because flying for so long was honestly such a pain, that you just wanted to get off the darn plane and get on with it.

The Desert was going to be preferable to this flying. "I told you we should have paid for better seats." You stated as you looked up towards first class. "But no, we had to save money."

George sighed. "Are you still complaining about that? We're doing the fancy traveling for going back home, after production. Think of this as a reward for our long hard work."

"Still think we have the budget for it." You replied. "We've got enough for it."

"You know where most of the budget went, it's going towards-"

"Yes I know, I saw the scenes with the art, and man, am I worried that you might not be able to pull it off."

"You don't trust everyone at ILM?" He asked.

"I trust them to screw around and spend months working on a figurine dogfight show?" You replied, remembering the first time George used them for. "I just think they might not be able to stay focused when you aren't there."

"I'm just one phone call away." He replied with a smile. "Besides, it's not like we'll have any problems."

"Sweet God Geroge, please don't say that. That will only lead to disaster." You replied.

"Might as well get it out of the way early." He smiled.

Production Problems?:D100 => 7

You looked out the window to see Rain.

RAIN! In the Sahara!

"Don't say it." George stated as he looked at the pelting rain going on the hotel window, with the water flowing down the street.

"You just had to say it, George." You muttered. "You had to say it."

"At least the rain will end in a few days." He stated. "And we didn't even begin constructing the sets yet… so is it really a huge problem?"

"Yes, we're going to be behind!" You replied.

"Just accept the fact that we're going to be on nature's time." He replied as he chuckled.

You both just sat down, coffee still steaming upwards from their cups, and you both toasted. "Well, it can't get any worse."

"Here's to things not getting any worse." He replied.
--------------------------------------------------------

What do you do:

You have 3 Actions

[]The Master: Mifune was having trouble talking to people on set, and his interpreter was not helping him that much getting the nuances of the pranks you were doing. Or rather, why you did do them in the first place with George?

[]Mark the Hero: Mark is kinda… well he's nervous, while he does not know about much of the story, he's adamant about trying to make it work. Though there is a problem. He isn't getting into the script.

[]The Set in the Desert: You are going to help on the set, perhaps just to make George's life a little bit easier.

[]Some Last Minute Script Changes: You need to talk to George about some of the dialogue that is there. Or just something that needs to be changed (Linetail to expand what you want to change)

[]Out in the Desert: You look at the desert and want to make sure that everyone is okay.

[]Peter Diamond and the Stunts here: Peter is a master stuntman, and someone you have learned to admire, but you both know that the stunt planned is dangerous, and you both want to practice it, to make sure it gets done right.

AN: enjoy and vote in plan format please.

With the rain going on as it is we can't do anything outside, however we can help the actors feel better and wit their lines to make sure they don't screw up. It's a bid odd with Toshiro, I mean the guy always trained himself to learn the language of the film he was acting in to the point he was like a native speaker. Guess since we sprung this at the last minute he didn't have enough time.

The stunts are improtant as well, if we want to have a word in choreography then we need to start making inroads there. I want our Vader Vs. Kenoby fight to be as close as possible as that video in Youtube!

Can't we use the rain in the desert for something? This is a one in a million chance we can capitalize on!
